House built by God

For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. Hebrews 3:4

Many people believe you can build a nice big house, fill it with some stuff, have a few children, and presto you have a family.  But without love there is no family, a house doesn’t make a home.

To have a happy family we need Jesus to be the center of it all. You can live in a mansion but without love it’ as pleasant as living in a ditch. God is love, and the only way to God is thru Jesus Christ. When we fill our hearts with Christ we fill our homes with love.

(1 John 4:7) “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”

God is Love, until we know God thru Jesus we don’t truly know love. It is important for us to be the Godhead of our families and lead them to a happy and fulfilling life.  Most parents nowadays try to fill there children’s void with material items which will never bring fulfilment or purpose.

Possessions in the world are temporary and fade like the grass, but the Love of God lasts forever. It will encourage and empower them to live a meaningful life.

(Matthew 7:24) “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:”

Build your house upon the Rock, meaning build your home on the Word of God. When you build a solid foundation for your family you will then be able to endure hardships and troubles when they arise.

Every family is going to have there challenges and problems, but when you’re the Godhead of your family and built your home on “The Rock” you will prevail. Many problems in this world are caused from within the home. We need to get back to God’s original plan of building our house on “The Rock”

(Proverbs 14:1) “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.”

Both parents play a key role in the success of the home, parents need to be a team. Most importantly they both need to be following God. If one parent is leading one way and the other parent is leading the other way then you have division. We know what Jesus said about division, (Matthew 12:25) Every house divided against itself will not stand”

It’s important as parents and Godheads that we are united, and don’t foolishly tear down on own home. Make Jesus the center of your home and your home shall stand on “The Rock’ with peace and love in Jesus name Amen

We Will Serve The Lord

 But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15

 

We are responsible for leading our families to God. You are called to be Spiritual Leaders for your home. The problems we see in the World today is because we have a lack of households serving The Lord. Moral breakdown in society, without God nobody has accountability for there actions. If we want to change the World we need to start in our homes, is your family serving The Lord?

(Proverbs 22:6) “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

 

If you don’t teach your children then who will? The World? Children are not born with knowledge, they don’t know right from wrong, most importantly they don’t know God. If we don’t teach our Children about God nobody will. The World has removed God from everywhere including schools. Unless you teach your Children about God and The Bible, they will never know.

(Psalms 127:3) “Children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

 

We need to understand and appreciate that Children are Gifts from God. Modern day society likes to depict Children as a burden or being a parent as a death sentence. But it’s actually the opposite. We need to be grateful for our Children and cherish them. But if we neglect them they will not flourish also. We need to teach them the Word of God and let them know they are special and loved by there Heavenly Father.

(Genesis 18:19) “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”

 

God chose Abraham to be the Father of many nations, because he knew he would teach his family about God and they would continue his legacy. When you fail to teach your Children about God and be a Spiritual Leader for your household you basically curse your blood line. Because if you Children don’t know God then there Children won’t know God either and so on. Eventually you have Generations of Godless people which bring moral decay to there nation.

(Ephesians 6:4) “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

 

Paul preached about the importance of teaching our Children in a Godly way. When we have knowledge about the Word of God it gives us wisdom we can use to raise our Children. We learn to have the love and mercy of Jesus. But also we understand how much of a blessing our Children are and treat them as blessings.  Children mimic there parents actions, so when we walk with God our children will walk with God also. In Jesus name Amen

God cares for you

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

 

When your feeling worried or stressed out do you hold it in or cast your care upon God? When we hold things in can often make your anxiety worse than when you release it. Not only is it important to let God know how your feeling but also others in your life such as your spouse, family, friends ,ect.

I found this out the other day, I was feeling upset over something and it was noticeably ruining my day. My wife noticed and asked me what was wrong, at first I just tried to blow it off but saying  I was fine but then a few minutes later I decided to tell her and I felt renewed. That problem that was weghing me down seemed to instantly disappear just by “casting my anxiety” to her

(Philippians 4:6) “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

 

God wants us to have this same relationship with him, tell him your fears and doubts. You might ask “How  do I do this?” Simply thru prayer. Praying is not about going thru the motions, it’s about having an intimate conversation with your Creator. Now you might say “Doesn’t God already know my problems?” and the answer is Yes but he still wants to hear your address them.

If you’re a parent think about your children, sometimes you know they did something wrong or upset over something but you still want them to confess or initiate the conversation of what they did or feeling. This is the same with God, he wants you to confess yourself to him. Like it says in the scriptures “You have not because you ask not” (James 4:3)

(Matthew 6:34) “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

 

When we look to far ahead in our life, in can be overwhelming. We need to learn to savor the moments we are in now and let God take care of the rest. When we keep focusing on tomorrow we never really enjoy today.  As it also says in Matthew 6 “ Can worry add one moment to your life? (Matthew 6:27)” Of course not worrying not only shortens our lives but makes it unenjoyable.

(Psalms 55:22) “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”

 

When we cast our cares or anxiety to God he will sustain us. What does it mean to sustain us? Means he will give us peace and strength to endure the trouble we are facing. That’s why it’s important we cast or confess ourselves to God, because when we call upon him he listens.  Often you can tell how much faith somebody has by the amount of peace they have, especially during difficult times.

Remember next time your worried or stressed out, call out to God and cast all your anxiety to him. He will then sustain you and give you peace in the storm. In Jesus name Amen

Made to Love

The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18

Some people try or believe they should be loners.  Wandering this world alone, picking up useless hobbies to fill their time. But as God said it’s not good for us to be alone. We were made to love and be loved.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

No matter who you are or how strong you are, we all need to be encouraged from time to time. Satan is constantly trying to bring us down, having a loved one to give you a word of encouragement or hug recharges your faith.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14

Jesus has called us the light of the world, how can we spread the light if were alone in the darkness? When we withhold our love and talents from others were doing a disservice to God.  You have been blessed with these attributes to share with others

Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

The greatest blessing from God is a family, don’t isolate yourself and miss out on a opportunity to receive Gods ultimate blessing. If you already have a family, make sure you appreciate and cherish that blessing and don’t take it for granted.

Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment. Proverbs 18:1

Loneliness many times can be a result of our own selfishness. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in ourselves and our life, we don’t acknowledge others. This is not only damaging to your personal life but unchristian. Jesus wants us to love and serve one another, when you make yourself the center of your own world.

There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother. There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth. “For whom am I toiling,” he asked, “and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?” This too is meaningless– a miserable business! Ecclesiastes 4:8

We learn in the scripture Money can’t buy happiness nor fulfill your loneliness. Be careful how you devout your time, make time for others. Be grateful for your family and friends. If you are lonely, you need to start opening up to people. Show them your love and you will receive it back. God doesn’t want us to go thru life alone. I pray that everyone finds there soul mate sent from God and let’s there light shine for the world. In Jesus Name Amen

Where is your treasure?

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21

Where is your treasure?  Is your treasure at work chasing money or at home with your family? Is your treasure in the world chasing your dreams or are you on your knees chasing Jesus?

What we make our priorities becomes our obsession. We need to be careful who or what we make our top priority because we often neglect the things that are really valuable.

Treasure– something that is very special, important, valuable

When you hear the word treasure, we often think of a case full of gold. But we need to realize what our true treasure is, the gifts that God blessed us with.

(Proverbs 31:10) “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.”

I am blessed with a wonderful wife and kids. That is where my treasure is. My family is more valuable to me than anything in the world. Because they are my treasure my heart belongs to them also. I will always put my wife and kids first, and everything else second.

(Proverbs 4:23) “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Everything you do flows from your heart. Therefor if the treasure in your heart is not pure, you will lead a corrupted life. That’s why it’s important to “Guard your heart”. It’s easy to get mislead by greed or lust. That’s why it’s important to “Treasure” the people and things in your life most, and this will keep your heart in the right direction.

(Matthew 5:8) “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

Jesus taught us the pure in heart will see God. If you heart is following worldly lusts you will not see God. Don’t let you heart be led astray by the world.  Let Jesus guide your heart, and you will not be misled.

(1 John 3:20) “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Most importantly we need to remember we are nothing without Jesus Christ. Our hearts will continue to struggle and lead us astray, but through Jesus we are redeemed and he knows your heart. Continue to keep Jesus in your heart and your treasure be your gifts from God. Don’t be a fool to the world. In Jesus name Amen

You are Gods Masterpiece

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. Philippians 4:12

If I only looked like them.. If I only had more money..If I only had their connections.. We can cause a lot of unnecessary stress and sadness in our life when we constantly compare ourselves to others. We need to learn to have the attitude Paul did in this scripture “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation”

You need to realize God has supplied you and blessed you with everything you need in your life. When we are ungrateful for what we have or giving, we are being ungrateful to God. We need to realize that you are a “ masterpiece” to God.

(Ephesians 2:10) “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

We need to learn to trust in God to supply all our needs. He knows better for what we really need or don’t need.  Think back to the story of Abraham, God promised him a son. But him and his wife lost there patience and he had a child with her servant. Because he didn’t follows Gods plan he created a lot of extra heartache for him and his whole family. Eventually God fulfilled his promise and delivered Isaac. We need be more patient and content with God plan and what he provides for us.

(Proverbs 3:5) “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”

With Social Media today it’s easier today to become discouraged, many people exaggerate or brag about their lives to build themselves up. But realize most people do this to compensate for their own emptiness. Be grateful for what God has giving you, if you can’t appreciate what you have now, why would God bless you with more?

(1 Thessalonians 5:18) ” give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Remember what Jesus taught us if something is causing us to sin to cut if off. Meaning if going on Social Media, ect is causing you distress or making your self esteem suffer, cut it off.

(Mark 9:47)” And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,”

Don’t let the outside world ruin your appreciation for what God has blessed you with. In Jesus Name Amen

Your Mission

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

Why did this happen to me God? How can you allow this to happen to me God? These are typical responses we lash out at God when tragedy strikes. But we need to understand we are the hands and feet of God.

If you are a Christian, then Jesus is living thru you. Therefore God should be living thru you, you should be doing the will of God.

(Romans 8:11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

 

Is this easy? Of course not, God never said it was going to be easy but if we trust in him all things are possible. How can I possibly make a difference? Let’s reflect on the story of Exodus. 400 years the Isrealites were trapped in slavery only to be freed my Moses. Did Moses do this alone? Of course not God sent the plaques, parted the Red Sea, ect. but he used Moses as his “hands and feet.

(Mark 10:27)” “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

 

Where do we begin? How do we save the world? One person at a time. Remember charity begins at home. Take care of your family, take care of your friends, take care of your neighbors, take care of your community. If every did this we wouldn’t have anymore problems.

Would there be any homeless if every family took care of each other? God has put you where you are for a purpose. Your family, your neighbors, your community, are tied to you for a reason. People travel far looking for mission trips but your mission is right where you are. Let Jesus live thru you and server your family, friends, neighbors, and community. Be a blessing to them.

(Jeremiah 29:7) Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

 

I pray that thru Jesus we are able to save and serve our families, friends, neighbors, enemies, community in Jesus name Amen

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15
What are you thankful for today? Your family? Your health? Your turkey? These are all great gifts from God. But let also remember to be thankful for the greatest gift God gave us all Jesus
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John3:16)
Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us, we need to always remember this and give thanks daily. Without him there would be no hope for any of us.
As it says in Ephesians 1:16 “Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;” Never stop giving thanks and praise to our Messiah for his love endures forever. Be thankful every day for everything you have been giving and he provided.
Often during the holidays we get stressed out, family disputes, holiday traveling, ect. Let’s remember to focus on the blessing of the moment.
The fact you have a family to share Thanksgiving with is a blessing, let’s Thank God. The fact you have food to feed your family is a blessing. Thank God. You actually have a vehicle to travel, instead of complaining about gas prices, Thank God
I think Paul said it best in Philippians 4:11 “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” Learn to be Thankful and content with the life God has giving you.
So don’t waste this Thanksgiving being stressed out or disputing with you family, rejoice in God and be Thankful for all you have been giving including the love of Jesus Christ. Amen

Love is Sacrifice

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Ephesians 5:25
What does love mean to you? Have you ever been in love or in love now? Most people would say yes, but do you really know what love is? Do you love as Jesus loves us?
Jesus loved us unconditionally; he sacrificed himself to save us not knowing if we would even acknowledge him. This is true love to give of yourself without expecting anything in return.
Love is probably one of the most overused words in our society; people will say this on a daily basis but don’t even know what love entails.
I would bet most of us in this world love conditionally. When things are going good everyone is happy, but as soon as one partner has to sacrifice or give more than the other, then most people break up. This is why we live in a society with such a high divorce rate, majority of these people were never really in love to begin with. They were in lust with each other until the good times ended.
As it tells us in 1 Corinthians 13: 4Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;…
You can generate a theme after reading these scriptures, Love is Sacrifice! There’s a reason why a lot of parents will say “I never knew love until I had my children” it’s because of the sacrifices they committed because they loved there children
Most of us today when we think of love, we think selfishly. We think about the needs we want fulfilled rather than the needs we can fulfill to your spouse.
1 Peter 4:8” Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins”. Another reason love fails is because people have unreal expectations of their spouse to be perfect. As it says in this scripture thru love we learn to accept each other as “works in progress”.
So when therefor when you truly understand the meaning and responsibilities of love; we can have a loving and successful marriage.
By following Jesus and studying the Gospel, we can learn and understand what true love is in Jesus name Amen

Man of God

But you, Man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:11

 Recently I just finished reading the book “Man of God” by Dr. Charles Stanley. It’s a very inspirational book and I highly recommend it to anyone. It got me to reflect on myself and journey as a “Man of God”

What does it really mean or require to be a “Man of God”? I believe the qualities you would observe are integrity, accountability, compassion, courage, and humility.

The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. Proverbs 11:3. To have integrity means to be blameless. Honest, and having strong morals. It’s important that your family and others can trust and respect you. Unless you have integrity this can’t be accomplished.

“So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God” Romans 14:12 To be Godly we must be accountable for our actions. When we make mistakes we confess them. We also need to accept our responsibilities as Christians, Spouses, and Parents.

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 1 Peter 3:8  Having compassion towards each other is essential. We all have faults and make mistakes, we need to be patient and kind. As it says in Proverbs 10:12 “Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all wrongs”

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13 Being a “Man of God” is going to take courage. When you refuse to conform to the ways of the world, you will receive a lot of opposition. That’s why you must grow “deep roots” of faith and always trust in God. Then you will be a strong role model for your family.


 “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” James 4:6  Pride can become our worst enemy. It can make us harden our hearts and resist knowledge. This is why God opposes pride, it’s a act of selfishness and vanity.

As you can see being a “Man of God” is no easy task. And we probably don’t posses all these qualities yet. But thru our journey we should strive to obtain these traits.

Following Jesus and studying the Word of God are good blueprints we can build on. It’s important for our families and ourselves that we make the commitment to become “ Men of God: In Jesus name. Amen
