Feed His Sheep

The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep. John 21:17

Jesus asked Peter (The Rock) Three Times “Do You Love Me”? Jesus then told Peter to “Feed His Sheep”!  Jesus chose Peter to begin “The Church”,  Fast forward to the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came down and baptized everyone, this was the first official service of “The Body of Christ”

So who are the sheep? And what is Peter supposed to feed them? The sheep are anyone who answers the call of Jesus. Jesus said the Sheep know my voice and he knows them  (John 10:27) Remember Jesus also taught that when one lost sheep was found, all of Heaven rejoiced (Luke 15)  The sheep are Gods children, and its our jobs to find and feed them

Jesus said “Man can’t live on bread alone, but every word that comes out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4) We need to “Feed the Sheep”  The Word of God. People are in desperate need of spiritual nourishment, especially in the times we live in today. Its our job to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and “Feed The Sheep”

This is your calling also, as Jesus commanded at the Great Commission “Preach the Gospel to all The Nations” If you Love Jesus, then Feed His Sheep in Jesus Name Amen!

Peace of God

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Its human nature to want control, we want to know the beginning from the end immediately. We want to live prosperous and never suffer.

However we all know , life doesn’t work this way. There will be many things beyond our control, often we don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow, and often times we are going to struggle and sometimes suffer.

If we go into these things without the Peace of God, often we become stressed out, full of anxiety, depressed, anxious, and maybe even suicidal.

However as Children of God, when we learn to give up control to God, we release all of our problems and worries to him, the Peace of God flows over us like a river beyond all our human comprehension or understanding

Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Do you Trust in Jesus or do you lean on your own understanding or comprehension? Often we are the product of our own anxiety and worrying , because we have not given up control to the one who can calm the storm.

Now I know its human nature not to want to give up control or let things go. But when you trust in Jesus with all your Heart, you will have the Peace of God that surpasses all your comprehension and understanding

You don’t need to figure out how God is going to fix your problems, he created the Heavens and The Earth, he can save you also in Jesus Name Amen!

Breath of Life

Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. Genesis 2:7

As we learn from the book of Genesis, we are made of two parts, a physical body and our soul. God breathed his “Ruach” or Spirit into us on the day of conception. The definition of the world Ruach” means “Spirit” , “Wind”, or “Breath”. That means God breathes our living soul inside our physical bodies, we are not just flesh and bone

You are not a mistake! You were not born by accident! Many people want to believe that we are just randomly made or here for no purpose, but know this, God made you for a purpose and you are part of his grand design. People, who deny Creation, also deny the purpose for their existence. If everything in this world was randomly created, which is mathematically impossible, then you are saying you have no reason for existence.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

“For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb” (NASB) ( Psalm 139:13)

God, your Heavenly Father and Creator, formed  and knew you before you were ever born. God has a purpose and plan for your life, only through God will you ever find your destiny. There is only one, who can give you the “Breath of Life”, and you can only get to him through Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6) Amen

My Lord My God

Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:28

Did Thomas curse? Today we look at the interaction Jesus had with his disciple Thomas. After Jesus was resurrected Thomas would not believe it was Jesus until he saw his wounds from the crucifixion. Jesus appeared face to face with Thomas and showed him the wounds in his hands and his side.

After Thomas seen this evidence with his own eyes, he declared Jesus My Lord and My God! Notice Jesus didn’t rebuke Thomas from calling him God. This is just another example of Jesus revealing his deity as he did throughout The Bible.

Anti-Trinitarians say that Thomas didn’t mean to call Jesus God, but that he actually cursed. As ridiculous as this sounds, this is the actual stance that they take.  Even though this claim is ridiculous , its also not likely for a couple of reasons.

First if we read the scripture in context, meaning read the entire chapter of John 20, after Jesus reveals himself to Thomas it makes sense that Thomas would confirm that Jesus was God. However for Thomas to curse during this story , really wouldn’t make any logical sense. There was no event that happened to cause this

Second, we need to remember Thomas was a devoted Jewish disciple. Meaning he was deep in his faith with God, everyone knows that the name of God is highly sacred and would never be spoken, especially as a curse. Do you need evidence? Look at the entire Old Testament, Jews changed the name of God (Yahweh) and replaced it with (The Lord). Jews did this so there was no chance that they would be taken Gods name in vein and breaking the commandment.

Its clear Jesus revealed himself as God and was declared God, question is , is Jesus Your Lord?
