Salvation Has Come

And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. Luke 19:2

Here we see another story of a man seeking Jesus. Notice this man was not only a tax collector for the Romans, he was the chief tax collector. This man was public enemy number 1 for Israel, so how did Jesus react to such a vile man?

And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. Luke 19:5

Zaccheaeus was a short man but he was determined to see the Lord Jesus. So he climbed a tree to get a better view. When Jesus saw him in that tree, he didn’t rebuke him, he asked to come to his house!

The people were angry, “Who does Jesus think he is hanging out with chief sinners like Zacchaeus”? Remember Jesus didn’t come for the righteous he came to save the sinners!

And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. Luke 19:8

First notice it says Zacchaeus received Jesus joyfully (Luke 19:6) Next look what Zacchaeus did , he gave back to anyone he cheated out of money and gave to the poor, in other words he repented

And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:9-10

Jesus declared Zacchaus is now saved, he is no longer a Gentile but a Child of God. All because the grace and blood of Jesus Christ! Jesus came to save the lost Amen!

Expectation of Christ

And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Luke 18:38

A blind beggar heard Jesus was coming through town, he believed that Jesus could heal him. Think about this mans faith, he is blind and vulnerable. He doesn’t know what Jesus looks like , he just knows Jesus is Lord of ALL

Notice this mans approach to Jesus, he says “Jesus, Have mercy on Me!” He doesn’t say Jesus give me money, Jesus give me health, or Jesus make me happy. He says to Jesus have mercy on a wretched pitiful sinner. This is true repentance, he understands his lowly state and asks the Christ to redeem him!

Are we approaching Jesus with this humility, with this passion, with this expectation that Jesus is truly God

And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Luke 18:39

The crowd rebuked the blind man, they told him to shut up you fool. However the blind man just screamed and cried out for the Lord Jesus even more! He cried with so much repentance and humility that even the Heavens heard him! Lord Jesus Have Mercy on Me!

And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. Luke 18:42

Jesus answered the man, Receive your healing Your faith has saved You! The original Greek word for Faith is “Pistis” meaning Expectation, Confidence, Belief. This man didn’t have wishful thinking he expected the Lord Jesus to heal him because he is the Lord of Lords!

True faith is an expectation, not a wish! Cry out to the Lord Jesus with an expectation of deliverance Amen!

Jesus Paid It All

And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. Luke 18:33

One of the amazing things about the Resurrection of Christ is the accuracy in the prophecy and its fulfillment. Throughout Jesus ministry he predicts his death and resurrection, this is not a coincidence this was the plan of salvation by God for us!

We can go back the very beginning in Genesis and see the first prophecy of Christ.

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Genesis 3:15

The seed is Jesus Christ and even though Jesus crushed the head of the serpent (defeating Satan) at the cross, he was bruised (crucified ) for our sins. But Jesus paid it ALL

Or how about the Prophet Isaiah foretelling the crucifixion of Christ 700 years before it happened!

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Or how about King David prophesying about the crucifixion of the Messiah

For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. Psalm 22:16

This was not an accident, God had a redemption plan for humanity through Jesus Christ! On that cross he took the penalty of our sins, but not his sins as he didn’t have any. Jesus paid it all for us so we can become reconciled back to our Heavenly Father

Did you receive him as your Lord and Savior? Did you ask for forgiveness of your sins? Jesus Paid It All for You, Give your Life to Him Amen!

Good News Tract

  • Have You Heard The Good News?

The Good News is Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead

  • What Is The Good News?

The word Gospel in the Bible simply means “Good News” The Good News is that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead so we may inherit eternal life through Jesus.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas (Peter), then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 1 Corinthians 15:2-6

  • Why Is This Good News?

The Good News (Gospel) is that because of the love Jesus demonstrated on the cross for us, by his sacrifice we can be forgiven for our sins and become “ Born Again”

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

  • Who Needs To Be Saved?

EVERYONE! The Bible teaches us that everyone has sinned against God and will face judgement. However the Good News Is Jesus paid the penalty for our sins so we can become “Born Again” through Jesus Christ

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

  • Who Can Become Saved?

EVERYONE! Doesn’t matter what race, color, or gender you are. Doesn’t matter what you have done, you can become reconciled with God and be saved through Jesus Christ

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13

  • So what must you do to become saved?

that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9

If you are ready to receive Jesus , say this prayer with me:  Heavenly Father, I confess I’m a sinner and please forgive me of these sins. I believe and receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior,  Amen!

Trust in Jesus

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Luke 18:25

Often we have heard this expression and passed over it, and figured Jesus wasn’t speaking to us. However if you live in the Western world, you are richer than like 97% of the entire world. We take a lot for granted in our isolated lives. We believe having things like running water and food on the table are provided, but the majority of the world don’t even have these basic things.

What’s my point? My point is you are probably relying on your money more than God and not even realize it. When you pay the monthly rent or mortgage, do you thank God for providing that or assume because you work you provided that? Or when you sit down at the dinner table , do you thank God for the food or assume you provided that food?

See this is why Jesus spoke against money, because the more we have the more spiritually lazy we become. We become blinded by ourselves believing that we can sustain ourselves and not rely on God to sustain us

And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Luke 18:26-27

After Jesus made this statement, they asked “Who can be saved then”? Everyone can become saved through Jesus Christ. By your faith in Jesus you can become saved. You cant be saved by your money, you cant be saved by anything in this world except Christ alone

Put your faith and trust in Jesus , for all things are possible with God! Amen!

God Alone

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? Luke 18:18

Heres a great question that was asked, what do we have to do to be saved? Seems like a simple question that should have a simple answer, but if you ask multiple people you might get multiple answers. Notice the young ruler is addressing Jesus as Master , so he understands who Jesus is

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Luke 18:19

Jesus hear makes a profound statement that most people don’t get at first. He says “Why do you call me good, nobody is good but God”. So think about this, if God is the only one “good” meaning sinless, then Jesus must be God. If Jesus wasn’t God, then he wouldn’t be good (sinless) therefor there would be no atonement for your sin. Think about that, Jesus is revealing he is God right here!

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. Luke 18:22

Then the young man goes through all the commandments he keeps, trying to persuade Jesus that he is righteous enough for Gods Kingdom. Notice what Jesus says to him “Sell all your stuff and give it to the poor” Ouch, this is not what the young man was expecting.

You see we have a heart issue. We can do a lot “religious stuff” to prove to people we are righteous but who owns your heart? Is your heart consumed with serving Jesus or is your heart consumed with making money or getting more stuff?

When we become Born Again we receive a New Heart, and that Heart will live for Jesus Amen!
