Greatest Commandment?

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Matthew 22:36

Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment, his response was very simple however do many people really get what he’s saying? Sometimes Christianity can get complicated, but when we apply these simple rules by Jesus its clear. Put God truly first then you can truly love others.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:37-38

The greatest commandment is that we love God, this may sound simple but really is a stumbling block for many people. To first love God you have to acknowledge he exists, you have to get to know him, and then trust him.

Now that simple commandment seems more complicated. People like to throw the word Love around loosely. But to truly Love commands many things including trust, honesty, and sacrifice.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.  Matthew 22:39

Why is Love your neighbor second? Simple you can’t truly love others until you understand what love is. God is love, he demonstrated that by sacrificing his only begotten Son to save your life. There is no greater love than that.

Secondly to be a true disciple of Christ is to serve others and not yourself. When you live like Christ you can truly love your neighbor regardless of who they are because you love God. So if you have issues loving your neighbor seek God first and he will open your heart to true love in Jesus Name Amen

Memorial Day

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. Romans 5:7

Memorial Day is a time to remember and reflect on the ones who layed down their life for our freedom. The ones who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom today. Notice in the Bible it says “Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person”.  This goes to show you the immense sacrifice these brave men and women demonstrated for us.

So whatever you’re doing today, take a moment to remember those who paid the price for our freedom.  Take a moment to reflect on how your life would be different if nobody was willing to do this? And thank those veterans who are still here today and remember there sacrifice for you.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for us all, even though we are all sinners and don’t deserve Gods grace, he gave it to us anyway. Why would God do this? Because his love for us is greater than our sin. So if you don’t believe or don’t know if God loves you, the answer is Jesus Christ

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13

From Jesus own words there is no greater love than to lay down your life, Jesus did just that to save the world because he loves us. On Memorial Day pay honor to fallen soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice for you, remember them in your prayers in Jesus Name Amen

The Vine Part 2

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5

Jesus teaches us the oneness we have with him, I think the word “adbideth” is interesting here. When you look up the meaning for that word it states “the archaic third person singular present tense suffix” sounds like the description of the Trinity.

So when we stay faithful to God and follow his will, the Holy Spirit abides in us and helps us to create good fruit. Without the power of God, we can do nothing !

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6

Jesus teaches us another revelation of hell, and he says anyone that doesn’t bear good fruit is cast into the fire. When we seek to do our own will, we live a destructive life, therefor our lives become meaningless full of sin and selfishness

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7

When we are fully connected to God through the Holy Spirit and follow his words, we will produce “good fruit” (Galatians 5:22-23) And when we seek to do the will of God, he will bless us. For it pleases The Father to give to his children

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:8

When we bear “good fruit” it glories God and we truly become disciples of Christ. The key is to stay connected to God  through the Vine of Jesus Christ Amen

God Breathed

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Why do we read the Bible? Why does it become an obsession for some and an obstacle for others? The reason can really be summed up with this scripture, The Bible is God breathed. We love reading the Bible because God is talking directly to us through others.

Many will try to disprove the credibility of the Bible, claiming there are contradictions ect. However these so called contradictions are always a lack of understanding the scriptures. When we finally come to the realization that the Bible is Gods word and its perfect, you then are opened to wisdom and understanding beyond human comprehension

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.  For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20-21

One popular question is how did Moses write the book of Genesis? This is a clear example of how the Bible is Gods word. Moses was able to write the book of Genesis because God  revealed it to him through the Holy Spirit.

Just the same way the prophet Isaiah revealed Jesus 700 years before he was even born. We need to understand there really was only one author of the Bible, and it was God. When you understand this you get a better understanding of our God and his plan for you

You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, John 5:39

Jesus tried to teach the Pharisees this, that all scriptures are testifying of Christ. Even in the book of Genesis it reveals Gods plan to defeat Satan by our Messiah (Genesis 3:15). This was clearly foretold in the scriptures, how would anyone have known this? Very simple all scripture is God breathed and its been given to you as a gift from God in Jesus Name Amen

Victory in Christ

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. Isaiah 25:8

What hope do we have for the future? With Jesus we have all the hope and victory in the world, because he has overcome death on the cross. There is a lot of sorrow and suffering in this world, but God promises to wipe away all your tears and restore peace.

We see the persecution of Christians around the world, but God promises to remove the rebuke of his people, meaning the rejection of Christians. We will stand victorious one day though Jesus Christ

And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isaiah 25:9

Many times we wonder, how long? How long until Jesus returns and restores peace and order? We can wait in peace because we know God doesn’t break his promises. The day Jesus returns we may not know but we can be glad and rejoice for his promise of hope and victory.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4

This promise of hope is also conveyed in Revelation, there will be a day when God will wipe away death, pain and sorrow. The old Earth has passed away and God will restore his Heavenly Kingdom in Jesus Name Amen

Only One

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  1 Timothy 2:5

Who can understand God? Who can be worthy enough to approach him? There is one answer and his name is Jesus. There is only way to God and that is through Jesus Christ. Nobody gets to God without him. Jesus is many things for us including our Mediator, who has redeemed us so we can be worthy enough to stand before God

Jesus has taught us many revelations about God and through him we can become a Child of God. Humanity has always tried to produce many Gods, but there is only one true God, the creator of the Heavens and The Earth. And there is only way Lord and King, his name is Jesus Christ.

Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. 1 Timothy 2:6

Why did Jesus have to die? Because he was the ransom for our sins, for the wages of sin equal death. Jesus was willing to pay the price for all our sins and make us a Child of God. Without Jesus none of this would be possible and we would all be condemned to death because of our sins

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

Jesus is the only way to the one true God. Jesus is our mediator between God and man.  Jesus has been granted all power and authority by our Heavenly Father, that is why every knee shall bow and tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord Amen
