Live At Peace

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Romans 13:7

When the Pharisees questioned Jesus, show we pay taxes to Caesar? His response was not what everyone was looking for. As the Apostle Paul is basing his teachings on Jesus, we are to pay our taxes to the governments and respect their authority. You might ask why? Why would God want us to obey corrupted governments and give them are hard earned wages?

First off God is a God of Law and Order. Without our governments , police force, and militaries, there would be total chaos in the world. Governments were instilled by God to maintain some Law and Order among people. However with that being said, when a government implements their own laws that are contradictory to Gods word, we should not follow them.

For example, gay marriage. God implement his law of Marriage in the book of Genesis (Genesis 2). Jesus also teaches on this subject (Mark 10)  Apostle Paul also teaches on the subject of marriage (Ephesians 5)When governments try to overrule God and make their own laws, we should obey Gods law instead

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8

Now even though we have differences and opinions with others, we should still try to Love them. For example the gay marriage topic, you may not agree with me that marriage should only be between one man and one woman. That’s ok, I respect your opinion, I have my convictions and you have yours, doesn’t mean we have to be at war over it

The last chapter Paul said “We should try to live in peace with everyone” (Romans 12:18) Same with our governments , police, military, ect. live at peace with them, not in anarchy or constant protest. Jesus is the King of Kings and the governments all rest upon His shoulders (Isaiah 9:6) Amen!

Love Your Enemy

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:18

Boy if people today would just read their Bibles, maybe we could actually have conversations with each other without starting drama. God tells us to try and live peacefully with everyone! Now I know this is not always possible. If somebody assaults or abuses you, you have a right to defend yourself. But in general, lets try to “Love Your Neighbor” as Jesus commanded us

Why cant we live in peace with one another? Mostly because of our sinful nature, isn’t that ironic. People either want control over everything for greed and power, or people have hidden agendas for more power or maybe sexually motivated. Bottom line its typically our sin that creates our hate for one another

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19

As Jesus taught “Love Your Enemies” and “Turn the other Cheek” the Bible tells us to let God get our revenge and not ourselves. I know this sounds like a foreign concept for us. We want control, we want to take revenge in our own hands. However we can live with inner peace letting go and letting God take control

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Romans 12:20

The Bible tells us to go even one step further, as Jesus stated “Love Your Enemies”. If your enemy is hungry, feed them. If your enemy is thirsty, give them something to drink. What radical love is this? This radical love can only come from Jesus Christ, who even though we were enemies of God, Christ still died for us! Amen!

Body of Christ

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Romans 12:4-5

The body of Christ is a mysterious thing, even though we are all separate people, differentiated by gender, race, and nationality, we are all one through Jesus Christ. However doesn’t seem like the “Church” has gotten the message. Today we have over 40,000 different “Christian” denominations and groups, this is not what God had planned for us

We need to understand , we are One body of Christ, not multiple bodies. There is only one head of the body, Jesus Christ! We are his hands and feet, he is the Lord over all. There is no authority above Christ, any group who tries to implement this is a cult group

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:6-8

We must also remember every “body” has a different role. Just as your physical body, your parts all have a different function within the entire body. For example your hand and your foot, are both part of your body yet have different functions. Neither part is greater than the other part, they both have their purpose. If one of them was removed, then it would be noticeable and the other parts would have to work harder to fulfill that role

The same is within the Body of Christ, not everyone is going to be a minister or a teacher, however everyone has a role and a part to play. Nobody is greater than anyone else. One of the greatest mistakes “Churches” make is exalting a pastor or worship leader. This should not happen, as they are no greater than anyone else within the body

Try to live in peace and unity with your brother and sisters in Christ, this is the will of God, as we are all one through Jesus Christ Amen!

Living Sacrifice

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1

When we think in the Old Testament , we think about the sacrifices the Israelites used to lay down before God. The sacrifices were an offering or gift to God to show their gratitude or ask for atonement for sin. Here in the New Covenant, things are a little different. Jesus is our ultimate sacrifice. He is the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world.

However as a body of believers , we are asked to present our bodies as a “Living Sacrifice” to God. What does that mean? Well the Bible tells us we were bought at a price and our bodies now no longer belong to us (1 Corinthians 6:20) Therefor why would you defile something that doesn’t belong to you?

God is asking us to make “sacrifices” to keep us from being corrupted or polluted from this world. Cut out sexual immorality, cut out drugs and alcohol , cut out violent movies and video games. Do things pleasing to God as a personal sacrifice to Him

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

Become transformed by the renewing of your mind, how do you do that? By becoming Born Again (John 3) If you’re a new creature in Christ then you are no longer behaving like the Old Man that died. Understand that your works don’t save you however your works should reflect your relationship with Christ! Amen!

The Remnant

Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. Romans 11:3

Often when we take a look around this world, we get disgusted or discouraged about the lack of holiness in this world. Even in Christianity today, we see a lot of sin and corruption running rampant throughout the churches. Sometimes it makes you wonder, where are all the Born Again believers?

The Prophet Elijah felt this way, Gods prophets were being killed by Jezebel, who seduced most of Israel with her paganism and immorality. Elijah was hiding in a cave and about to give up when God answered him with this message in the next verse

But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. Romans 11:4

Even though to Elijah it seemed like he was the only one left who hasn’t sold their soul to Baal, God told him he has 7,000 other men just like him! This had to be a humbling experience for Elijah, when he thought he was the only one following God and instead there are thousands doing the same

We can probably related to this today, You might feel like you’re the only one worshipping God and following his ways, but the truth is God has a chosen remnant. God has a great multitude that are covered by the blood of Christ, set apart from the world

You are not alone, you are part of Gods remnant, you are not alone. Keep fighting the good fight and have faith in Christ alone Amen!

Why Do You Celebrate Christmas?

Why Do You Celebrate Christmas?

Did you know, more than 2 billion people in 160 countries celebrate Christmas.  In the US 90% of people celebrate Christmas, even Atheist.

The word Christmas derived from two words Old English literally meaning Christ (Messiah, Jesus) Mass (Maesse)derived from Latin “missa” which is the celebration of the Eucharist (Lords Supper, Communion)

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Over 700 years before Jesus was born , the prophet Isaiah fortold of his birth. Not only did this prophecy come true, but notice the titles Jesus was given “The Mighty God”

Jesus is God that came in the flesh (John 1:14) who came to take the penalty for our sins so that we may inherit eternal life. This is why we should celebrate Christmas!

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins Matthew 1:21

Jesus came into this world, to save us from our sins. How much does God love you? He loves you enough to die for you! So when we look at Nativity sets, remember the center of it all is Jesus, who is the greatest gift you can ever receive!

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11

The good news (Gospel) is Jesus came to save you from eternal death! Jesus came to set us Free! In that little town of Bethlehem was born Christ The Lord! Would you receive him today ?

Pray with me..Heavenly Father, forgive me for my sin, I receive and declare Jesus as my Lord, fill me with the Holy Spirit so I can live for you and turn away from my sins in Jesus Name Amen!
