Face To Face

Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent. Exodus 33:11

Here is a very interesting scripture for several reasons. First it says that Moses spoke with God “Face to Face”. Now at first you would believe this is an idiom as the Apostle John said “Nobody has seen God” However when you examine the original Hebrew word “panim” it means exactly Face

So the scripture is clear that Moses spoke to God “Face to Face” just as a friend. Since God is a Spirit (John 4:24) the logical conclusion is Moses was speaking to Jesus Christ!

The second interesting thing about the word “panim” or Face is that its plural in the Hebrew. Meaning God is not singular but Triune. Just as God said “Let Us Make man in Our image” (Genesis 1:26) Just as when Abraham was approached by Three Men before they destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18) God is a Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)

Then Moses said, “I pray You, show me Your glory!” Exodus 33:18

But He said, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!” Exodus 33:20

God tells Moses that his presence will be among the people. Moses asks God to reveal his complete Glory. The interesting thing here when God says nobody can see “My Face” it’s a different Hebrew word “panay” meaning a Singular version of Face. Meaning you cant see The Father because of our corrupted state as human

No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. John 1:8

So when the Apostle John says “Nobody has ever seen God “ the Greek word for God here is “Theon” which is Singular, probably referring to the Father. However they have seen the Son (Jesus) who Moses also saw

As Jesus said “If you have seen me you have seen the Father” (John 14:9) Moses met Christ “Face to Face” and he delivered them as he also delivered us on the cross Amen!

House Divided

“If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. Mark 3:25

While Jesus continued to perform miracles, driving out demons, ect the religious leaders accused him of being possessed by a prince demon named Beelzebul, to obtain the powers Jesus has. The interesting thing is this is documented in the “Talmud” (which is a book of Rabbinic Teachings) that states Jesus had “magical powers” to perform miracles ect.

Jesus quickly demonstrated to them that their logic is very flawed. Why would Satan drive out Satan? (Mark 3:23) Obviously if Jesus was possessed by the devil he would be doing works of the devil, not works of God. He wouldn’t be healing people and forgiving their sins, he would be afflicting them and condemning them to hell

Jesus makes another good analogy, a house or kingdom divided will not stand (last) If Jesus was possessed with a demon, why would he be attacking his own kingdom? Its illogical, however lets look at the Christian “Church” today. Most Christians spend a good part of their time arguing with other Christians about doctrinal differences, did you not hear what Jesus said?

The reason the “Ekklessia” the Church is so ineffective today is because its greatly divided. We have over 40,000 different denominations, we have Hebrew Roots\Messianic groups,  we have cults like Jehovah Witnesses and Seven Day Adventists, Christianity is divided in many directions.

If were truly disciples of Christ, we need to find common ground and unite for our Lord. If every Christian came together, worshipped together, prayed together, Satan would be powerless. But because many “Christians” cant even be in the same room as each other, the Church is divided. Jesus said a House divided will not stand.

Some suggest Christianity needs another reformation, they might be right. If your truly my brother or sister, then start acting like it. Jesus is our Lord (Master), not any doctrine or creeds Amen!

Dwelt Among Us

“They shall know that I am the LORD their God who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them; I am the LORD their God. Exodus 29:46

God delivered his people, the Israelites, out of slavery and into freedom. God broke the bondages of his people and led them through the wilderness to the Promised Land. During this journey through the Wilderness, God had them make a tabernacle, in which he would live with his people and dwell among them.

Think about this, for 400 years the Israelites lived in slavery. They believed God had forgotten them, they suffered in aguish day after day, not knowing how or ever if, they would be free again

In this physical tabernacle in the wilderness, God dwelt with his people, just as with Holy Spirit, God dwells with us now!

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

God had a redemption plan for the Israelites, he also has a redemption plan for us! His redemption plan is Jesus Christ, and because of the shedding of his blood, we can become Children of God. Because of the shedding of his blood, are sins can be forgiven and our relationship can be restored back with God

God became Flesh and made his dwelling among us, just as God dwelled with the Israelites in the Wilderness, God dwelled with us in Jesus Christ. God has freed us from our slavery of sin and death and is currently leading us through the Wilderness to the New Promise Land ( the New Heavens and Earth)

If you are living in slavery today, become Set Free, by the only one who can set you free Jesus Christ Amen!

Lord of the Sabbath Part 2

And He said to them, “Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent. Mark 3:4

Again Jesus is dealing with the Sabbath issue again, again hes demonstrating that the Sabbath is a moral issue and not a legal issue. The religious leaders are using the Sabbath as a yoke to put around the people and make them suffer under strict rules and harsh penalties. However this is totally the opposite of what God intended with the Sabbath

Sabbath (Shabbat) simply means Rest, we enter Gods Rest. God didn’t decree the Sabbath to condemn people but to give them relief from their daily lives of work.

Jesus was about to heal a disabled man, when the religious leaders used the Sabbath to accuse him of “breaking The Law” This is why Jesus asks is it “Lawful” to do good on the Sabbath? Should Jesus just allow people to suffer or not heal them because it’s the Sabbath? No that doesn’t make any sense from a Just God.

After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. Mark 3:5

Because the religious leaders “Hardened their Hearts” they didn’t understand the purpose of the Sabbath. Because they were more interested in pleasing men and becoming promoted with a large title, they didn’t seek Gods will instead of their own

Jesus displaying his Deity and authority, healed the disabled man. Notice the reaction from the religious leaders, they didn’t glorify God and rejoice because someone was healed. Instead they plotted how they could accuse Jesus and ultimately kill him for Blasphemy.

Don’t allow our human pride to overtake Gods glory and purpose for our lives. Jesus is Lord of Lords including Lord of the Sabbath Amen!

Go Forward

The sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. Exodus 14:22

As God delivered the Israelites out of slavery from Egypt, another critical step came for their deliverance.  The Egyptians were chasing them down to kill them and they were trapped at the Red Sea. From their perspective it was over, Moses had led them to their death.

But God didn’t lead them this far to just let them be destroyed, God had a redemption plan.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.  Exodus 14:15

While the Israelites were moaning and crying to Moses, God said to Moses “What are you waiting for”? “Go through the Red Sea as I commanded you”!  To listen to God will take Faith. By our human logic walking through a large sea will not save us but only drown us. However God had a redemption plan for the Israelites , it was only a matter of them being obedient to God

Do you have a “Red Sea” in front of you today? Are you staring at it while your enemy is coming closer to devour you? God is saying “Go Forward”!

By faith they passed through the Red Sea as though they were passing through dry land; and the Egyptians, when they attempted it, were drowned. Hebrews 11:29

By Faith the Israelites passed through the Red Sea. In their human minds they didn’t know how they were going to cross the Red Sea. They didn’t know if they would drown or die, but they believed in God and his promises.

Go Forward Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ! He will walk you through the waters Amen!
