Living Water

Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water that we may drink.” And Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the LORD?” Exodus 17:2

Again the Israelites began to complain to Moses that God has left them to die in the wilderness. Remember they complained about food, and God sent them Bread from Heaven (Manna) and meat (quail)

However now they are thirsty, and being out in the wilderness (desert), water was not found. However God heard the cries of his people and supplied them with “Living Water”, flowing water that never ran out, they would never thirst again

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'” John 7:38

Again God sent his only Begotten Son, as the Living Water for us. Whoever drinks from him will never thirst again. What did Jesus mean by this Living Water?

But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:39

Scripture explains to us that Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit. As Jesus promised at the Day of Pentecost , the Holy Spirit was sent and lives inside everyone who is a believer in Jesus Christ. The Spirit is the flowing Living Water inside of you!

Are you thirsty for Truth? Are you thirsty for Hope? Are you thirsty for Peace? Are you thirsty for Love? Accept the Lord Jesus Christ and never thirst again, be filled with the Living Water Amen!

Lord of The Sabbath

“So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” Mark 2:28

The debate about the Sabbath in Christianity still continues today, even though this topic was settled by the early Apostles at the Council of Jerusalem (Acts 15) many groups still like to use this topic to condemn Christians.

Those who say “Jesus never addressed the topic of the Sabbath” are wrong, here is a good example of Jesus addressing the Sabbath. The word Sabbath is translated from the Hebrew word “Shabbat” meaning Rest, to enter into Gods rest. Many rules were added by man (religious leaders) over time to put people into bondage of the Sabbath, which it was never meant to.

The Pharisees were looking to condemn Jesus and his disciples for picking grain to eat on a Sabbath day. He reminded them when King David and his friends ate the bread that was meant for only the high priests, did the religious leaders stone David for this?

Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Mark 2:27

Jesus was showing that the Sabbath was a moral issue and not a legal issue. Did David do anything wrong morally on the Sabbath? No , but according to the legalist he broke the Law. Jesus is explaining the Sabbath was made for us , to give us rest. It wasn’t made to put us in bondage of The Law

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

The Sabbath was all about Gods Rest, Jesus is our Rest, Jesus is the fulfillment of The Sabbath. As Jesus said He is Lord of the Sabbath. Nobody is saying the Sabbath was abolished it was fulfilled.

If you want to keep observing the Sabbath, that is fine, but your not permitted to put others in bondage because of the Sabbath. Being in bondage of The Sabbath defeats the purpose of The Sabbath!

Come to Jesus all you who are seeking Gods Rest, Amen!

Manna from Heaven

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction Exodus 16:4

During the “Exodus” the Israelites complained to Moses that they are starving in the wilderness. God heard the cries of his people and rained down “Manna (Bread) from Heaven” What seems like impossible, God did to provide for his people in the wilderness.

However , the people were instructed to gather all the  bread before morning. Of course some did not listen and left the bread laying, then the bread was foul and full of worms. See God sent the “Bread of Life” but it was important for the people to receive the bread , just as we need to receive Jesus Christ

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. John 6:35

Jesus declared he is “The Bread of Life” sent from Heaven to save our souls. Are you lost wandering in the wilderness, call upon The Lord and he will give you the Bread of Life.

“I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” John 6:51

Jesus said if anyone eats of this bread (Jesus), they will live forever. Just as God spared his people in the wilderness from dying by sending them Manna, God spared us by sending Jesus to the cross. If anyone eats, meaning if anyone who receives Christ as your atonement , your Lord, your Savior will live forever

Jesus is the Manna from Heaven, Jesus is the Bread of Life! Receive him and you shall live forever Amen!

The Great Physician

And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17

The Pharisees seen Jesus eating with sinners and rebuked him! Now lets stop to think about this for a minute, who is a Sinner? We are all Sinners (Romans 3:23, Romans 3:9, Ecclesiastes 7:20) So if Jesus was to follow the Pharisees logic then he wouldn’t bother talking to anyone including the Pharisees.

Jesus here is making a statement that deals with the physical and spiritual realms. First hes talking about the sick who need a physical healing and then hes talking about sinners who need a spiritual rebirth (become saved)

See Jesus didn’t come to give us a temporary fix, he came to give us the permanent cure which is eternal life through him. Even if Christ were to fully restore our health, if we are not saved, then we are still condemned to eternal death due to the wages of our sins.

The Pharisees thought by doing religious works they could earn salvation, but Jesus called them “Whitewashed Tombs” why? Because on the outside they looked good but internally they were evil and corrupt. The love of God was not in them, only self righteousness

Jesus is the only way to get the permanent cure. The price he paid on the cross has given us eternal life. Repent and Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ , The Great Physician Amen!
