Repent

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Proverbs 1:23

Anyone who doesn’t think that the Book of Proverbs is divinely inspired needs to read this scripture.  This is basically the gospel message in the Old Testament. Turn you at my reproof means Repent! Reproof means correction. If we only turned away (Repent) from our sin due to Gods reproof (Law)

Then God will pour out His Spirit (The Holy Spirit) unto You! This is the same Gospel message that was being preached in the New Testament “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38)

God will make His Words (The Bible) known to You! The Bible is a lot clearer when you have the Holy Spirit. How did all the authors collectively write the Bible? By inspiration of The Holy Spirit!

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: Proverbs 1:24-25

You ask “Who can be saved?” The Bible says “Everyone Who Calls Upon the Name of The Lord, Shall be Saved” (Romans 10:13) Have you felt God tugging on your Heart? Have you heard the whispers of the Holy Spirit? Yet you ignore and reject them

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: Proverbs 1:28-29

God will not force anyone to love him. We all believe we have unlimited amounts of time, but the reality is we don’t. And one day our time will be up, are you saved? Or have you chosen to reject God and live life on your own terms?

There are eternal consequences for our choices. Make sure your covered by the blood of the Lamb (Christ) otherwise your sins are not covered at all!

Listen To Your Parents

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. Proverbs 1:8-9

How many times in life do you think “If I only listened to my Mom or Dad, I wouldn’t be in this mess” The wisdom of a Mother or Father can be priceless, however will we listen to it? The Bible tells us to listen and not forsake the instructions and rules of your parents. God put the Parents in place for a reason and purpose, to guide us through difficult choices

On the flipside , we as parents also have a responsibility to instruct and guide our children properly. I know everyone wants to be the “Cool” parent who lets the child do whatever they want, but is this beneficial for your child in the long run? When they get older, will they know right from wrong, will they be responsible for themselves? As a parent its our responsibility to “Train up a Child in the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6)

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Proverbs 1:10-11

The Apostle Paul says “Bad company corrupts Good character “(1 Corinthians 15:33) We all heard the term “Hanging with the wrong crowd” the wrong people can have the wrong influence over your life. Its important to make good choices on who your friends are. Your inner circle tells a lot about who you are. Now I know people will say “Christians are supposed to love everyone” Yes that’s true, you can love someone but they don’t have to be your best friend.

On the flipside again, Parents have a responsibility on knowing who their kids are hanging out with. Being with the wrong crowd or at the wrong place and wrong time, can be catastrophic in your life. Allowing your kids to hang out with the wrong crowd is bad parenting. Find out who your true friends are and stick with them as long as possible

Of course not being centered and build up the rock of Christ, all of this will fail. Without God there is no standard for Morality. Its important that a family is built up the rock Jesus Christ, Amen!

Fear of God

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

This scripture seems so simple and straight forward however it causes so many questions and concerns for many. So lets break it down to get a good understanding about what the Holy Spirit is saying here

First when we see the word “Fear” in the Bible , it’s a different Fear than we are used to. The original Hebrew word is “Yirah” this word means reverence or awe. So to “Fear God” is to not just obey because we tremble at our inadequacies , we admire Him, we Love Him, we strive to be like Him because his works and ways are incredible

Think about the first time you stood in front of the ocean, that is a humbling experience. The vastness and unknown of the body of water, that seems to have no end. The power that it displays , its lowers us from our pedestals and we realize how very small we truly are. As the Bible says “Perfect Love Casts out All Fear” (1 John 4:18) We love God not because we are afraid of him but because of his awesomeness!

Now secondly is there anything wrong with some Fear? The emotion of Fear sometimes can save your life. When you get to a place of danger, maybe your up to high or going to fast, your mind tells you stop! Fear can be a safety mechanism and when we ignore the warnings sometimes it can be catastrophic

So when we accept this awe or reverence for our Creator when then begin to realize true knowledge. The universe wasn’t a random accident of exploding matter, however it is a very complex design from the highest intelligence possible. Even after thousands of years we find it difficult to explain or comprehend its existence

But the rejection of God leaves us in the dark. Without the Creator there is no design or purpose. Without the Savior , there is no hope or meaning. Without the Law giver there is no Good or Evil. Many things fall apart without God center in your life. To Fear God is to Love and respect Him as a child would their Father, Amen!

Teach your Children

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
Being a parent is probably the toughest yet more rewarding thing you can ever do; It is important that we teach our children values, morals, and most importantly about God
If we don’t teach our Children about God, who will? The world? Most parts of the world including America you’re not even allowed to mention God.
Recently Arkansas State University football team was forced to remove the symbol of the Cross on the back of their helmets because lawyers determined it’s unconstitutional to display a Cross in public

Rick Santorum says 62% of all college students who enter with a faith leave as an Atheist. And it’s no surprise since Colleges are not allowed to talk about Creationism or Intelligent Design due to Atheist groups suing the Colleges. They teach Evolution and Big Bang Theory, forcing kids to follow there agendas.

So we can’t expect the outside world to teach our Children about God, Morals, Values, Integrity, Family, this all needs to be done in our homes. This is our responsibility to build our Children’s foundations on “The Rock” so when they encounter storms they will still be standing.
As it says in Deuteronomy 6:6,7 “These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.
We should reflect on the story of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15: 11-32) The son became rebellious, wasted his fortune, lived a sinful lifestyle. But eventually after being stuck in the pit of life, which sin eventually leads us to. He returned his Father, and he welcomed him with open arms .
No matter how far the Son fell in his ways he did not depart from his family. Because even though he was making poor choices his foundation was built on “The Rock”. A lot of people like to complain about the younger generation but the only people to blame is ourselves. We are responsible for bringing up the next generation. We can’t expect them to just be born with knowledge.
I pray that parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, guardians, we all take the responsibility to teach our Children so they will not depart from God and know the truth thru the Word of God Amen

Beginning of Wisdom

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
What does this scripture mean to you? How can wisdom come from fear? How can understanding come from knowledge?
When people don’t acknowledge the greatness of God or his abilities, they become fools. As it says in Romans 1:22 “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,”
People who believe they are greater than their creator; or who believe they can live reckless life with no consequences or authority are simply fools.
As God said in Jeremiah 4:22 My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.”
When we understand God breathed life into us and made us in his image; he gave us this life as a gift; we then start to obtain the wisdom of his Word in the scriptures. But until you can accept God as your master, you can never accept wisdom or understanding.
You do have a choice though. You have the freedom of free will and you can follow Satan’s path of sin. However when you decide to walk that path you will end up in the same destination as Satan, the Lake of Fire. As it says in Matthew 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
So if you want to know if you or somebody else is really living a Christian lifestyle, check there fruit. Are you producing good fruit? Is your family broken or blessed? Is your personal life a mess? Are you drowning in debt? These are a few areas you can check your fruit.
When they say “Fear the Lord” it’s out of respect, honor, and most importantly love. Just as you would “fear” a parent or guardian. It’s not a dictatorship because you have the choice. You can follow Jesus to Eternal life or follow Satan to destruction.
I pray that everyone receives and understand the greatness of God; therefore thru Jesus and the Holy Spirit you can begin to obtain wisdom and knowledge that will lead you to your divine destiny Amen

We Rise Again

For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, Proverbs 24:1

Somedays it’s hard to be the light of the world when the world keeps blowing your light out

How deep are your roots of faith? This will only be answered when you endure the storms of life

On days like this it feels like God is a million miles away we know he is with us but can’t feel him

I reflect on sad Psalms from David like Psalms 88:13 3But I, O LORD, have cried out to You for help, And in the morning my prayer comes before You. 14O LORD, why do You reject my soul? Why do You hide Your face from me?…

But I take comfort in knowing God never forsaken David and always delivered him from his distress.

Or I reflect on the  book of Job where Satan took everything from Job “Therefore I will not keep silent; I will speak out in the anguish of my spirit, I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.

But again I take comfort in knowing even though Job lost everything God repayed him twice for what he had and redeemed him.

Someday are faith is going to be tested, how deep really are your roots? Because one day a hurricane of life will come through and uproot the shallow so be prepared.

But today is a new day and I declare  “This is the day the Lord has made and I will be glad and rejoice in it.

As it says in Psalms There maybe pain in the night but joy comes in the morning.

And most importantly I always remember the cross, the sacrifice Jesus made for us to redeem us for our sins. Always remember the covenant he made with us and the hope it brings.

Today we rise again in knowing our God will endure forever and won’t forsake us

I pray that God gives us the strength and peace to endure thru the storms of life and we hold on to his covenant he made with us.  Amen
