Jesus Mocked

And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! Mark 15:17-18

Jesus wore the Crown of Thorns, the crown that was meant for us! The crown that we deserve as sinners not Jesus, but he did it anyway because God loves us. You can’t refute the love of God when you know the crucifixion of Christ.

It’s important for us to remember and know what Jesus did for us, the price he paid. He didn’t just come and save the world, he suffered and paid the price for all our sins

And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. Mark 15:19

The Roman soldiers with evil in their hearts, thought they were getting a good laugh at mocking an innocent man, but little did they know they were fulfilling Biblical prophecy. Imagine the surprise on their judgement day when they stand face to face with the Great I AM, the one they spit on and beat.

And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. Mark 15:20

The Roman soldiers thought they were just about to murder another Jew, but they didn’t realize they were about to slain the Lamb of God, the event that will change the world forever. The event that will crush the head of Satan, break every chain upon us, and defeat death in Jesus Name Amen

King of The Jews

“Are you the king of the Jews?” asked Pilate. “You have said so,” Jesus replied. Mark 15:2

Make no mistake about it , Jesus is The King of Kings, not only the Jews but the Gentiles. Jesus revealed many times who he was but still they all rejected him. Just as the prophecy in Isaiah stated he was despised and rejected, a man of sorrows. But his sorrows was our sorrows, his suffering was our suffering. Jesus took the punishment for all our sins and transgressions

What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?” Pilate asked them. “Crucify him!” they shouted. Mark 15:12-13

Pilate knew Jesus was innocent but also knew he had to please the Pharisees. Therefor he asked the crowed what to do with Jesus, and the one who came to save them, they betrayed and murdered him. But Jesus stayed obedient and faithful because the prophecies needed to be fulfilled

Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. Mark 15:15

Pilate sold his soul and rejected the Son of God. This event would not only condemn Pilate’s life but his entire reign he would be haunted by the blood on his hands. And just like God said anyone who rejects Jesus as your savior will be condemned. There is only one way to Heaven and that’s thru Jesus Christ Amen

Jesus On Trial

And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. Mark 14:55

Even though Jesus was innocent and sinless, the council was determined to find Jesus guilty at any costs. Why were they so threatened by Jesus? Because Jesus brought the Truth of God to the world, these men wanted to continue practicing their religion not truly worship God

These men were so blinded by their lust, that they broke their own laws to murder an innocent man to continue their religion. What they didn’t realize was they were fulfilling the Biblical prophecies that they have studied all their lives.

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

Notice even though they were accusing Jesus of lies they couldn’t prove, Jesus held his peace. Because he knew they were going to condemn him no matter what he said or did. Even though these men seen Jesus perform miracles and cast out demons.

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 14:62

Notice Jesus said “I AM” the same way God identified himself to Moses. And they don’t realize it but Jesus is already telling them about the resurrection and his ascension back to Heaven

Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. Mark 14:64

But even after all the miracles and prophecy they heard from Jesus, they still condemned him to death. Even though Jesus fulfilled all the Old Testament prophecies of the Bible, they still didn’t know him because they never opened there hearts to get to know him in Jesus Name Amen

Jesus Arrested

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? Mark 14:48

Even though Jesus was innocent and never sinned, he was treated like a criminal. He was beaten, spit on, cursed at, tortured, and eventually put to death. Was there any justice during his trial? No but Jesus allowed this all to happen for You! All these events needed to be fulfilled so Jesus could be your atoning sacrifice for your sins.

Imagine the humility and obedience it took for Jesus to allow this to happen, the same man who raised people from the dead, had to allow himself be put to death.

I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled. Mark 14:49

Jesus brought the Truth of the Word of God to the world, The Word became Flesh. But still many rejected Gods true word. But just as Jesus said the scriptures needed to be fulfilled, let the will of God be done. And by his obedience to fulfill Gods will, he saved the world.

And they all forsook him, and fled. Mark 14:50

During Jesus ministry you couldn’t even get near him most of the time, everyone wanted to be healed or forgiven. However during Jesus time of need, everyone abandoned him. Even his own disciples, who he taught them everything, left him to save themselves. How quickly we forget Gods word when times get tough

However Jesus said he will never leave or forsake us, and he kept that promise to his disciples. After he rose from the grave, he returned back to his disciples. He will never leave us or forsake us either in Jesus Name Amen

Gethsemane

They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” Mark 14:32

Jesus knew the events that were about to happen, he knew he would be beaten and crucified to death, but he did this knowingly to save us all from our sins. But notice what Jesus does in his darkest hour, he turns to God in prayer. Let this be an example for us to turn to God during our darkest hours also.

“Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” Mark 14:36

Jesus was so distressed that he was sweating blood, for he knew the torture he was about to receive. But Jesus said let Gods will be done, not ours. Jesus obedience and sacrifice made us children of God by his new Covenant. Remember to always do the Lords will even when its not the easiest way.

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Mark 14:38

Notice in this scripture Jesus is telling Peter to keep praying and not fall into temptation. Could he be trying to prevent Peter from denying him three times, which he did later. Its important for us all to continue to stay in prayer, because we are weak and can easily fall into Satan’s traps of sin.

Returning the third time, he said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!” Mark 14:41-42

Jesus knew when the hour would come and who his betrayer was (Judas). He knew what had to be done and the pain he was going to endure. But Jesus did it anyway for You, because God loves you enough to sacrifice his only begotten Son. As Jesus said there is no greater love than to lay down your life for friends, he did that for you, may you remember and know that in Jesus Name Amen

Jesus Anointed

And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. Mark 14:3

The story of Jesus being anointed by Mary of Bethany is told in all four gospels, its believed that the women identified is Mary Magdalene. The gospels tell us she also pour the perfume on her hair and washed Jesus feet. Even though she was a great sinner, her love for Christ was displayed and her sins were forgiven

And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. Mark 14:4-5

Obviously many were upset with her actions, who does this sinful woman think she is? How dare she waste expensive perfume! Even though this was a beautiful act of honor to our Lord, many harden their hearts and cast evil onto Mary.

Don’t you ever feel like Mary? Do you try to honor the Lord with your heart but get resistance from many? Do you feel judged by others who think you can’t be a Christian because of your past?

And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. Mark 14:6

Jesus rebuked them all, told them to leave her alone. Jesus knows your heart and knows if your work is for The Lord, do worry what others think about you, only worry what God thinks about you.

For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. Mark 14:7

Nobody realized it but Jesus was preparing them for his ascension into Heaven. The anointing of his body, was with great timing and honor, as Jesus was about to lay down his life for us all. Remember to pay honor to your King in Jesus Name Amen

The Great Commision

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Matthew 28:16-17

Even after all the miracles Jesus had performed and being resurrected from the dead, still some doubted. Many people say they can’t believe in Jesus Christ because there’s not enough evidence, yet these people had all the evidence in the world right before their eyes. Could it be you are going to reject Christ no matter what he shows you, no matter what miracles or blessings are in your life today, you will not believe

But notice many worshipped Jesus, and he didn’t rebuke them. If Jesus , who has risen from the dead, wasn’t Lord he wouldn’t allow himself to be worshipped. But he is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me Matthew 28:18

Jesus has declared before ascending into Heaven that all authority has been given to him, that’s all authority. There is no one greater than the Great I Am, as the only begotten. Which begotten means one of a kind

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Jesus has commanded us to make disciples of all the nations, so its important we spread the good news of Christ to everyone we can. Especially the good news that Jesus has Risen and overcome death. Satan has no hold onto us anymore, all the chains have been broken in Jesus Name Amen

The Resurrection Part 2

Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Matthew 28:7-8

The women disciples were the first to know that Jesus has risen, even though they were startled they were not surprised because Jesus had prophesied about his resurrection multiple times. So know that you know the good news, who have you told? Are you spreading the good news that Christ has Risen and has conquered death forever.

Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Matthew 28:9

Imagine the joy of being greeted by Jesus face to face, this will happen one day. Another notable is the woman bowed down and worshiped Jesus immediately. If Jesus wasn’t God in the Flesh he wouldn’t allow this, but every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.” Matthew 28:10

Jesus has told his disciples and us to go tell the world, as Jesus commanded us to go make disciples of all the nations. As Jesus promised his disciples, they will see me, so will you. Put your hope and faith in Jesus Christ the one who has conquered the grave for evermore Amen

The Resurrection Part 1

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. Matthew 28:1-2

The event that everyone was about to witness, is the greatest event in the history of mankind. No other event has more importance or changed the course of history than the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. An event so amazing, even to this day the details and evidence are still being debated and examined.

Why? Because on this day Jesus defeated death and Satan. There is no power of darkness that can stand against the Kingdom of God, because It is finished. Satans days are numbered and his schemes have no power over God.

His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. Matthew 28:3-4

Mighty Roman soldiers became weeping cowards in the presence of an angel of The Lord. The power of God is greater than any force in the universe, he spoke The Heavens and Earth into existence, and he raised Christ from the dead to live evermore and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28:5-6

It has been spoken and declared Jesus Christ has risen, he has risen! The body that was sacrificed for you and me has been resurrected forevermore. The shroud that covered Jesus body still bears the evidence of his shedded blood and image but he lives forevermore, he reigns forever because he is Risen Amen!

Crucifixion of Christ

About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”). Matthew 27:46

Its important to note the time Jesus died, 3:00 p.m. is when the Passover Lambs were sacrificed yearly. God was demonstrating to the Jews that Jesus is The Lamb of God, the atoning sacrifice for all our sins.

With Jesus cries it obvious he suffered greatly on the cross, why would God allow that to happen? Because Jesus was paying the price for all our sins, he suffered and tasted death so we didn’t have to. It’s also notable that David prophesied this in Psalm 22

And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. Matthew 27:50

In the book of Luke (23:46) it tells us Jesus said “Father into your hands I commit my Spirit”, this statement shows the obedience and love to lay down his life for others. In the book of John (19:30) it tells us he also said “It is Finished”, this was the final command that defeated death and Satan forever.

At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split Matthew 27:51

At that moment the “Veil was Torn” meaning God created his new covenant will all of us and he is now accessible for everyone. We are all the temple of God and the Holy Spirit dwells in us, the power of the Living God has been giving to us all

When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:54

After what they just witnessed, everyone including the Pharisees and Roman soldiers knew Jesus is The Son of God, Anyone who didn’t believe Jesus is Son of God was about to find out, God blackened the sky and created a huge earthquake that destroyed the temple and raised the dead from their graves. God displays his awesome power that he is the creator of The Heavens and Earth, he is in complete control, it is Finished in Jesus Name Amen
