But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11

Does the Spirit of God dwell in you? This Sunday we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, now think about this. The Bible tells us the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in us. Can you imagine the power of God, that defeated sin and death, could possibly dwell in you? The same power that rolled the stone away from the tomb is living inside of you

So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh—Romans 8:12

But notice the next scripture, “we are under obligation not to the flesh”. Meaning if you want the Holy Spirit to dwell in you, you can’t live in sin. Jesus defeated sin and death, because he remained obedient to God. The same goes for us, we must remain obedient to God if you want to be filled by his Spirit.

You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

Greater is God living inside of you, than Satan who is living in the world. At the cross Jesus crushed the head of Satan, there is no power greater than the Lord Almighty. Rejoice knowing that if you stay obedient to our Heavenly Father, the same power will dwell in you , that rose Christ from the dead in Jesus Name Amen!

He Has Risen #ResurrectionSunday

“He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, Luke 24:6

Some of the sweetest words in the Bible are  “He has Risen”.   The resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is complete. Just as Jesus said on the cross “ It is Finished”, the completion of victory over the grave is done. At this moment, no more are we slaves to sin and death, Jesus has conquered the grave!

And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, Luke 24:2

The stone has been rolled away! Even though this is literal, this is also symbolic for our lives. Rolled away is sin, sickness, and death! And now enters the power and glory of our Heavenly Father that has breathed life into our bodies. The rolling away of the stone from the tomb, is the passage of your suffering and sorrow. Because when Jesus stepped out of that tomb, you can now rejoice with victory and hope! Because Jesus has overcome the grave!

and the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself. John 20:7

A very symbolic sign often missed by most. Jesus took the time to roll up his linen cloth as a sign he will return. There’s a Jewish custom to fold your napkin when you leave the table if you’re going to return. Jesus did this before he left the tomb as a sign to us all that “ The King is Coming Soon!’

Jesus walked out of that tomb alive forevermore, and he’s coming back for his Church, give Glory to God for his victory at the cross! He has Rise Indeed in Jesus Name Amen

Passover Lamb #GoodFriday

The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

If there is any question how Judaism and Christianity are linked together, look no further than Passover/Easter. When the prophet John the Baptist announced, Jesus was the “Lamb of God” everyone knew what he was talking about.

The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. Exodus 12:13

To understand what Jesus has done for us at the cross, we need to understand what happened at Passover. The Israelites were being held slaves for over 400 years until God sent the prophet Moses to finally free them. Egypt’s refusal to allow Gods people go, left him no choice but to send 10 deadly plaques to call for their repentance.

The final plague was the Angel of Death that would “Passover” any home that was covered by the blood of the sacrificial “Lamb of God”

for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26:28

Fast forward to when God sent his only begotten Son, as the perfect “Lamb of God’ to forever take away the sins of the world. Anyone who is covered by the “Blood of Christ” death will “Passover” them and we will live eternally in Gods Kingdom.

Remember this Passover/Easter, that Jesus is The Lamb of God. Because of him death will Passover you during the Resurrection in Jesus Name Amen

It Is Finished

Therefore, when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. John 19:30

The last and maybe the most powerful words Jesus ever spoke were “It is Finished”. What did Jesus mean by this? At this moment, everything Jesus needed to accomplish to become the ransom for our sins was finished. At that very moment, the “veil was torn” the “New Covenant “was established

And He said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. Mark 14:24

So what is the new covenant? Jesus explained this during the “Last Supper” The shedding of his blood, created the new covenant for us. The original covenant was with God and Israel, the new covenant allows all of us, through the blood of Christ, to be Children of God

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, Romans 8:16

Through the Blood of Christ, you are no longer viewed as a Gentile or wretched sinner. You are redeemed through Christ.  You can call upon God your Father, and he knows you and has sealed you with the Holy Spirit

It Is Finished, at that moment death was defeated. Satan can no longer control you because we are victorious by the Blood of The Lamb (Revelation 12:11) in Jesus Name Amen

Father Forgive Them

But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. Luke 23:34

As we continue to look at the last words spoken by Jesus on the cross, we come across this powerful display of God’s love toward humanity. Here Jesus is not only crucified on a cross, hanging in agony, he also being spit on and verbally abused by all the spectators. Instead of Jesus condemning them all he prays to God to forgive them all for their ignorance.

This is such a powerful moment as we know God so loved the world that he sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins, but also even while Jesus was being tortured by us for our sins, he still showed us grace and mercy. It’s important to remember Jesus was on that cross because of us, every sin we committed he paid the price for.
At the end of the scripture it says “They divided up his clothes among themselves”, as we seen in the other scriptures, this again was another prophecy fulfilled and was spoken in Psalms

They divide my garments among them, And for my clothing they cast lots. Psalm 22:18

So why would the Roman soldiers want the clothes of Jesus? This is obviously a debated topic but here are my thoughts. This displayed Jesus as being the “high priest” (Hebrews 4) the high priest would wear the most expensive clothing, and remember Pilate put a purple robe on Jesus during the trial to mock him.

Secondly this displays the death Jesus suffered for our sins. Even the two thieves on both sides of Jesus were left alone, but the Roman soldiers decided to humiliate Jesus even more.

But as Jesus said, Father forgive them, the love that was displayed at the cross is beyond our comprehension. Remember Gods love for you in Jesus Name Amen

My God My God

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?” that is, “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?” Matthew 27:46

As we continue to look at the last words spoken by Jesus Christ from the cross, this scripture is a highly debated one. There are some who believe the entire New Testament was originally written in Aramaic and not Greek, therefor they believe this scripture should be translated:

My God, My God why have you spared me  Matthew 27:46 Aramaic NT

Now obviously, this is highly controversial and debatable. However, if you consider this context, it gives a whole different meaning to the scripture. In a traditional sense if we believe the word is “Forsaken” then we believe Jesus felt like God temporarily left him. But if we believe the word “spared” here we believe even though Jesus was being brutally tortured, when God finally released him through death, he was still willing to suffer more.

Now the problem the Aramaic side has is Jesus quoted Psalms a lot , as we saw in my earlier post Jesus quoted Psalm 31:5, “Father into your hands I commit my Spirit”. So Jesus is most likely quoting Psalm 22:1 here:

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Far from my deliverance are the words of my groaning. Psalm 22:1

So if were going to say Jesus was mistranslated in Matthew, we would have to say David was also mistranslated in Psalms. The probability of this not likely. I believe the scripture is correct with the word “Forsaken”

We need to remember Jesus took on the wages of our sins, all our sins! Therefor he suffered the penalty of our sins which is death and separation from God. Even though this was temporary (3 days, 3 nights) Jesus willingly suffered sinners fate so we didn’t have to.

It should make you love and appreciate Jesus more, knowing what he would have to suffer and endure, he didn’t anyway because our Heavenly Father loves you in Jesus Name Amen

In Gods Hands

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.” Having said this, He breathed His last. Luke 23:46

For the next few days we will be looking at the last words Jesus spoke from the cross. This scripture is a Jewish prayer from Psalm 31:5. When you look at the original scripture and apply it to the crucifixion it gets a deeper meaning

Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have ransomed me, O LORD, God of truth. Psalm 31:5

Notice in this prayer its declaring “You have ransomed me” , this is actually prophesying the crucifixion. Jesus became the ransom for our sins (1 Timothy 2:6) It’s important that we remember this reason why Jesus went to the cross, was for the wages of our sins.

Jesus displayed full obedience to God the Father, “Into your Hands” meaning I put my life in your hands.  Do we commit our life into the hands of God? Often we try to control our lives by “taking this in our own hands”. However, remember its “Your will be done” (Matthew 6:10) not Our will be done.

When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, he prayed if it was Gods will to let this cup Passover him” (Matthew 26:39) However he knew the will of the Father was Jesus to be the perfect ransom for our redemption. Jesus remained in perfect obedience with the Father and fulfilled our salvation

So, reflect on this today, are you committing your life into the hands of our Father God? Or are you putting your life in the hands of yourself? We know the final outcome with God is victory, follow his will in Jesus Name Amen

The King Is Coming! #PalmSunday

Took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, “Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel.” John 12:13

The King is Coming! On this “Palm Sunday” while we remember and celebrate King Jesus coming into Jerusalem , we also must remember that the King of Kings will return again. The first time he came as “The Lamb” the next time he will return as “The Lion” and reestablish Gods kingdom forevermore

These things His disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things to Him. John 12:16

When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a Donkey instead of a horse, people did not understand. They were looking for a mighty King like David, who would destroy the Romans and free the Jewish people from oppression. However Jesus came as the “Prince of Peace” to save not just the Jews but the entire world.

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; Revelation 7:9

Fast forward to the return of Jesus , a great multitude which no one could count, meaning everyone Jew and Gentile, who is saved by the blood of Christ will be standing at the throne of God. Clothed in white robes with palm branches!

Get your Palm Branches ready because the King is Coming back soon! Blessed is Yeshua (Jesus) who comes in the name of Yahweh (God) in Jesus Name Amen!

Message of The Cross

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

There are some “Christians” who don’t think the “message of the cross” is important or it should be removed from doctrine. However, without the sacrifice at the cross, there would be no Christianity, as there would be no new covenant. Our victory, hope, and salvation all begin at Calvary, when God sent his only begotten Son to save us from our sins.

Those who don’t understand the deity of Jesus Christ, or understand Jesus is the “Lamb of God’ of course won’t understand the “message of the cross”. Salvation begins with a perfect sacrifice, atonement for our sins.

So how can we rejoice over the cross? An instrument created for torture and death. We can rejoice that God’s love and mercy are so great for us, that he did the unimaginable. Instead of allowing us to perish for the wages of our sins, he sent Jesus to take our place. Even though we are sinners, God loved us anyway, that is the Power of God.

Nothing Satan can do to us , can overcome what God has already done. Victory is ours because of Jesus at the cross. So you may think the “message of the cross” is foolishness but to the redeemed it’s the “Power of God” in Jesus Name Amen
