He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. John 21:17
As we look upon our Sunday worship services, there is a clear issue with the Body of Christ, the lack of knowledge of the Word of God. The worship service today has become nothing more than an evangelical outreach, we play music that appeals to the world, we water down our messages to appeal to the flesh, and there is no change to the Ekklessia.
What has happened to the Lords Day gathering? Why do almost nobody carry a Bible and the majority dont read them? Where is the anticipation and excitement of coming into fellowship with the body of Christ? Where is the reverence while being in the presence of the living God? As God foretold “My people perish from lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6)
This is why our Lord and Master told Peter “Feed My Sheep”, Christ never said water down the message so they will understand, Jesus never said “sugar coat” the gospel so we will get many hands to be raised! No The Creator of the Heavens and Earth commanded Feed My Sheep, preach the Word of God in and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2)
But they say “They will never understand the real Word of God”, That’s right! And truth be told , Nobody can understand the Word of God without the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14) A dead man can’t understand anything, unless they are brought back to life! (Ephesians 2:1) But you say “They will not come unless we appeal to the world”! That’s right! As The Lord said himself “Nobody can come unless the Father draws him” (John 6:44)
So why do our Churches perish from lack of knowledge? Because you don’t Feed The Sheep! The Ekklessia is starving, it is weak because it does not get the Manna from Heaven! Jesus said “Man can’t live on bread alone, but every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4) The preaching of Christ is much more important than your potlucks! While you feed the flesh, the soul is being neglected
Jesus asked this simple question “Do you love me”? And just like Peter, you will say “Oh yes Lord I love you!” Then why don’t you Feed Christ’s Sheep? Why do you neglect the one duty you were given as a Shepherd? You say “But nobody will come” Jesus Christ has come for His Sheep and not the goats! (Matthew 25) And as The Great Shepherd said “I won’t lose any of my sheep” (John 10:16)
Jesus our Lord , our Great Shepherd said “Feed My Sheep”, so preach the Word of God as commanded, because “How will they know without a preacher”? (Romans 10:14) Amen!
