Festive Stress

“Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ “For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:31-34

During the Holiday season, more than ever, you see people running around looking to buy presents, the perfect outfit or get the ham or turkey for dinner. But amidst all this chaos, do you ever stop to think “Does God really want things this way? “

Recently the New York post printed an article about “Festive Stress”. Instead of most people enjoying Christmas and reflecting on the birth of Christ, most people spend the holiday stressed out trying to outperform one another. What happened? Why did the world get this way?

When you put material objects ahead of God this is what happens. Money and possessions become a form of “Idolatry”, where people are concerned more getting new stuff than serving God. As Jesus taught us, God already knows our needs. We need to trust in him to provide and he will. Do we really need all the excessive presents and food during the holidays? Of course not!

Jesus taught us not to worry about tomorrow because today has enough problems of its own! When we look to far in the future, we miss out on the blessings of today. We can’t take any way for granted, we need to stop and reflect on each day and thank God for his blessings.

Seek Gods kingdom and righteousness which is eternal in Jesus Name Amen!

Where is your Heart?

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21

As people around the world open up Christmas presents , remember that these temporary items will not bring everlasting joy or peace. For these items bring a  moment of satisfaction but then your eventually let down to where your heart is at. These days its seems that people think that the more “presents” they buy their loved ones, the more they know they love them.

If you truly love someone, tell them about an eternal gift that will bring them hope, peace, and joy. That gift is Jesus Christ. As Jesus told us, don’t waste your type storing up possessions because they will fade away, just like this world will. Store up your treasures in heaven, meaning fix your eyes on Christ.

Jesus is the only way to eternal life, a new car or jacket, may bring you some temporary joy. But eventually that item will wear out, and won’t bring your soul any salvation.  Where is your treasure? Is your hope in “presents” in this temporal world? Or is your treasure in the eternal kingdom of God?

Don’t lose sight of our eternal gift from God in Jesus Name Amen!

Merry CHRISTmas

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

  • A child is born “ Luke 2:10 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
  • A Son is given “ John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
  • Governments will be on his shoulders “Revelations 19:16 “On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords.”
  • Wonderful Counselor “ John 14:16 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  • Mighty God- John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
  • Everlasting Father Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
  • Prince of Peace John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

This Christmas take the time to connect with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Reflect on all he has given you and your family already and bless his holy name.

From me and my family we wish you all a Merry CHRISTmas and God bless!

Celebrate Life!

He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. Isaiah 25:8

As we enter in the Holiday season, there are many people mourning. Many people suffering from maybe losing a loved one or battling with depression and anxiety. The Christmas season is very joyful but can also be a painful reminder for others.

We need to keep in mind, that Jesus defeated death! While you are celebrating the Lords birth, remember you are also celebrating our victory. Because of Christ, there will be a day when death is no more, a day when God will personally wipe the tears from our face, and we will not feel sorrow any longer

and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4

This promise is reinforced in Revelation, the former things have passed away! Not only are you celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, but your also celebrating your eternal birth through Jesus Christ. When God reestablishes his Kingdom, we will live eternally in peace with our loved ones in Jesus Name Amen!

Holy Spirit

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to captives And freedom to prisoners; Isaiah 61:1

One of the great moments during Jesus ministry, was when he went into the synagogue and read this prophecy from Isaiah. After Jesus was finished reading this prophecy, he said “Today this scripture has been fulfilled” (Luke 4:21) At that moment those who understood this prophecy, understood who Jesus was revealing he is.

It was then the religious leaders tried to throw him off a cliff (Luke 4:29) Why were they so furious? Because they understand who Jesus was saying he is, he is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. Jesus was the one they have all been waiting for from the prophecies of the Old Testament, however they rejected him

and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.” Luke 3:22

Just as Jesus prophesied, the Holy Spirit was upon him, even when he was in human form.  This was confirmed by John the Baptist and the many who witnessed Jesus baptism.

It’s important for us to remember also, they we can be lead and empowered by the Holy Spirit also, you are not alone! Remember the beauty of Christmas is that God can down to Earth, to dwell and save us in Jesus Name Amen!

Jesus The Messiah

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped Then the lame will leap like a deer, And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy. For waters will break forth in the wilderness And streams in the Arabah. Isaiah 35:5-6

When Jesus was born on the night in Bethlehem, who were the first ones the angels delivered the good news to? It was the lowly Shepherds who were out in the pastures taking care of their flock. The good news wasn’t first delivered to the rich and powerful but to the poor and meek.

See Jesus came to open the eyes of the blind and let the lame walk. Jesus made the first last and the last first. He is a King that has never been seen before. A king not living for himself, but to be the ransom for many!

The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Matthew 11:5

John the Baptist wanted confirmation whether Jesus was the Messiah (Christ) or not. Jesus told them the proof is in his works. See Jesus fulfilled the Isaiah prophecy of 35:5-6, he gave the blind sight, and the deaf able to hear. Jesus raised the dead and proclaimed the good news (gospel)

If you have any doubt whether Jesus is the Messiah, just look at the proof of his miracles, and the power of his truth Amen!
