Unfruitful

But the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. Mark 4:19

While Jesus was explaining the parable of the sower, this is a strong summarization. Many of us have heard the Word of God, we heard about what Jesus has done for us, but we become distracted by the things of this world and simply forget. As Jesus explained the Word of God is like a seed , once you hear its planted in you, but if you don’t attend to it, it never becomes fruitful

The worries of this world, life is easy when things are going good. But Jesus told us to expect trials and tribulation. This is a time when we can rely on our faith to carry us. But most blame these worries on God instead of having faith. Cast your cares, worries, and anxiety on him because he cares about you (1 Peter 5:7)

The deceitfulness of riches, most people use money as there motivation for everything in life. But money cant save your soul. Money gives people a temporary sense of comfort and power, but in the end only Christ can redeem your soul

“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? (Mark 8:36)

Desire for other things. Its easy to get distracted in life. Sometimes we can over consume ourselves in a hobby or activities. We need to keep things in priority. Keep God and your family first. Don’t neglect the ones that love you. Because most of these activities or hobbies are just temporary but God and your family are forever.

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8

Devote time to studying the Word of God, and let the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5), Peace , Love, and Joy, into your hearts in Jesus Name Amen

    Good post.
In the God-composed journey of faith life-scripts recorded in the Bible…there is an unconventional element that God inserts that has some goal which is out-of-reach of human contrivance to resolve…the birth of Isaac for Abraham and Sarah…the elevation to governor for Joseph…the deliverance of the Israelites for Moses…the kingship for David…and the calling to lead the early church for Peter…to name a few.
I think the church has lost this great truth…if we are in our own journey of faith following Jesus Christ…the life-script does not include the things of worldly conventional normalcy and thinking…God factors in the same rejection of worldly wealth and power in the same way that Jesus rejected these things during the temptation in the wilderness.
This does not mean that we forget about the responsibilities and duties of “occupy till I come” (Lk. 19:13)…but God will blend and balance these things into the life-script He writes for us.
Look for the cross of Christ interwoven into the biblical narrative stories of faith. The gaps that God ingeniously creates in the story-lines…unimaginable to human literary invention…produces a context for biblical-quality faith to actualize…which is way above worldly conventional normalcy and thinking (Heb. 11:1 describes this gap…Heb. 11:6 tells us what is important in life from an eternal perspective.)
    Again, good post.
