We Are The Clay

Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8

Assisted suicide is legal in 9 countries and 5 states in America. Brittany Maynard, an advocate for “Dying with Dignity” wrote about her decision to use Assisted Suicide when she learned she had a brain tumor.  She said “ I do not want to die. But I am dying. And I want to die on my own terms.”

I sympathize with her and her family but have total control over your life is not realistic. Even if you don’t believe in God, you should know we can’t do everything on our own terms. When we put our trust in God, we develop the peace and understanding to hand things over to God, and let go of the control.

(Psalm 139:16)´” Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

She goes on to say “I would not tell anyone else that he or she should choose death with dignity. My question is: Who has the right to tell me that I don’t deserve this choice? That I deserve to suffer for weeks or months in tremendous amounts of physical and emotional pain? Why should anyone have the right to make that choice for me?”

Who has the right to tell us not to kill ourselves? God is the answer. Before we were even born God hand picked up to fulfill a destiny, do we know more than our creator? Is the clay greater than the potter? How can we fulfill Gods will if we cut our lives short? How can we expect God to create a miracle if we don’t allow him time or the circumstance to perform it?

(John 14:7) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

And then she said “Having this choice at the end of my life has become incredibly important. It has given me a sense of peace during a tumultuous time that otherwise would be dominated by fear, uncertainty and pain

What she really was looking for during this ordeal was peace. Jesus is the only one who can give us that peace, perhaps if she knew him, it could have changed her mind?  When you don’t have the peace of Christ, it also leads to fear and uncertainty. Be strong and courageous for the Lord is with us and won’t forsake us.

(Romans 14:8) “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s”

November 3rd 2014 Brittney Maynard ended her life thru assistant suicide. Her last quote was “”It is people who pause to appreciate life and give thanks who are happiest. If we change our thoughts, we change our world! Love and peace to you all,” she said

I know this was a tough situation for her and the family, however I still believe we need to leave our lives in Gods hands. Let thy will be done, not our will. Could have God delivered her from this cancer? We will never know. Life is a gift from God, we need to learn to savor every moment. There is a higher purpose and deeper meaning to life then we know, there we are the clay and God is the potter, let him mold us as he sees fit, in Jesus name Amen

Live with Meaning

For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, 1 Peter 1:24
How long do you have to live? Might sound like a morbid question but its reality Most of us go about our daily lives pretending death doesn’t exist or we have endless amounts of time. That’s why it’s important to use your time wisely. Don’t waste your life chasing after money or possessions because as the scripture says they will all fade away. Make every day count; make time for your family.
(1 John 2:17) “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
But there is hope for all of us thru Jesus Christ. He is the only way to eternal life. Everything else in this world will fade away. Satan wants you to waste your time on Earth with worldly pleasures, but your time is valuable. Everything you do you will be held accountable for. How are you spending your days here on Earth? When you pass away what would everyone say about your legacy?
(Proverbs 22:1) “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
What is your legacy? What would your family or children say about you? We all know someone who you can’t think of anything bad to say about them, that’s the person we should strive to be. A good name, when people say your name do they think respectable, loving, caring, giving, ect. This is far more valuable than any money or possessions could buy. How do we achieve this, follow Jesus.
(2 Corinthians 5:22) “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
Jesus was the only human to walk this Earth that had no sin. Even those who don’t believe Jesus is the Messiah can’t bring a valid claim against him. He showed us how to live and though him we can live forever.
Live your life on this Earth with meaning, follow Jesus to eternal life. Don’t waste your time following temporary pleasures of this world. Create your legacy starting today thru Jesus Christ Amen.

Citizens of Heaven

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Philippians 3:20

Do you ever feel out of place in this world? Well that’s because you are, your true home is in heaven.    The afterlife is a subject most of us don’t want to talk or think about; but it’s reality. The good news is that death is not the end for us thru Jesus Christ.

As Jesus promised in this scripture he has already prepared a place for us in (John 14:1-3 “”Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2“In My Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

What will this place be like? I think Revelations 21:4 sums it up best “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”   Think about all disease and sin are gone, we can once again live in perfection again as God intended.  As we remember Jesus conquered death on the cross so we can have eternal life.

One story in the Bible always intrigued me, referred to as the transfiguration of Jesus (Matthew 17:1-9). During this story Jesus takes his disciples up the mountain. During this time Jesus becomes radiant and they meet Moses and Elijah. The reason I love this story is because it proves there is an afterlife with Moses and Elijah reappearing. During this time God also confirms Jesus is the “Son of God”

I also love the scripture from  2 Corinthians 5:6-8 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord  While we are on this Earth we are away from our true home because we are “Citizens of Heaven”

Remember what Jesus said to the sinner next to him on the cross. (Luke 23:43) Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”  Jesus not only promises him eternal life but describes heaven as paradise.

So remember heaven is awaiting you, don’t be discouraged or fearful of this world. As Jesus promised one day you will be a “Citizen of Heaven” in Jesus Name Amen
