This weekend we celebrate Veterans Day, to honor our heroes past and present. My Father is a Vietnam Veteran who served 3 years in the Navy, I’m very proud of him for his sacrifice and service he gave to us and this country.

Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for us on the cross. Some would say Jesus was murdered, however this is not true, Jesus willingly laid down his life for us, to be the ransom for our sins. The ransom that has set us free from our sin so we may inherit eternal life. Notice Jesus calls us his “Friends”. Just as the song says “What a friend we have in Jesus” , he demonstrated his love towards us on the cross.

The original Greek word for Love is “Agape”. This word has a stronger meaning than we normally associate with the English word Love. Notice in the KJV translation they translate Agape as “Charity” that’s because Agape is a sacrificial Love, not a superficial Love that we are used to

We honor and thank our veterans because they have demonstrated their Agape towards us also. Any veteran that has served has sacrificed something. But because of them we have the freedom here in America. If you openly practice your religion, Thank a Veteran!, If you openly voice your opinions, Thank a Veteran! If you just voted the other day, Thank a Veteran! Its because of their sacrifice we have freedom

The same with Jesus Christ, its because of his sacrifice on the cross, that we have been freed from Sin and Death. We have ultimate freedom because of Jesus Christ!

Heavenly Father, we pray for all the Veterans today and their families, we pray you set them free from any bondage or chains they may be troubled with. We pray for the peace and strength of the Holy Spirit to tough their hearts in Jesus Name Amen!

Who Will Hear?

To whom shall I speak and give warning That they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed And they cannot listen. Behold, the word of the LORD has become a reproach to them; They have no delight in it. Jeremiah 6:10

God is trying to warn Israel about the destruction of Jerusalem, but nobody is listening. It says the Word of God has become offensive (reproach) to them, how similar is this to todays society? The Bible is continually being banned throughout the world, and recently the state of California is trying to pass a bill to ban the Bible!

It says the prophets and priests have all become greedy (6:13) Look at our prophets and pastors of today, “prosperity Gospel” is the big agenda being pushed by “Christianity” today raking in millions of millions of dollars, yet no one is repenting of their sins!

The false prophets were declaring “Peace, Peace” when there was no peace at all, Jerusalem was about to be destroyed by their enemies. The same with this world today, these false prophets and pastors selling you the “Prosperity Gospel” there is no prosperity here on Earth! It’s a total lie, this entire world is headed straight to hell, your only hope is the salvation of Jesus Christ!

“He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Matthew 11:15

Jesus said this over and over again, just as the same back in Israel. Gods people wont listen to truth, people have closed their ears to the truth. The Truth is this is not your best life now, the truth is we need to prepare for the return of the Lord, and prepare people for the pending judgement and destruction of this old Earth, until God establishes his New Kingdom Amen!

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.” Revelation 17:1-2

“The Whore of Babylon” The Great Harlot- the False and Evil Religious system that has deceived and corrupted the entire world, is about to come into judgement. We saw in the last chapter, that the support for Babylon has dried up. And the system of Babylon has fallen apart!

All the “Kings of The Earth” representing all the authority of the nations , were part of this religious and political corrupted system. They all were “drunk with her immorality” meaning they sold their souls to Satan for money and power. We actually see this a lot today in the “religious systems” its more about money than it is about God anymore

Many waters = nations

For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? Mark 8:36

So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. v 3-5

10 Horns = Kings

The woman – Whore of Babylon

Here we see the symbolism of “The Whore of Babylon” who is the symbolic representation of the corrupted religious system. Babylon is sitting on a “scarlet beast” which is obviously Satan. The corrupted system is fueled and influenced by Satan himself to deceive the masses and destroy souls

Notice her cup is full of abominations, the sins and immorality of this fake religious system is great, including the death and persecution of Christians.

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 2 Thessalonian 2:7

I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. v6-7

We see here “Babylon” is responsible for the death and persecution of many Christians. The interesting thing here is the Apostle John says “When I saw her, I wondered greatly”. This could possibly mean that the deception of this fake religious system “Babylon” was not so obvious. Satan is a master at deception, beware of the false prophets and false churches

Blood of Martyrs = Tribulation Saints

The Beast = Anti-Christ

And when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony they had upheld.  Revelation 6:9

“Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Matthew 24:11

The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. v8

Beast = Anti-Christ

Book of Life = Saved = Born Again

The world is about to see Satan be thrown into the Lake of Fire for final punishment. Notice those whos names are not in the “Book of Life” will join Satan in the Lake of Fire. Many people will be in “awe” or “wonder” as they see this mighty false religious and pollical system totally destroyed by God Almighty

 

May they be blotted out of the book of life And may they not be recorded with the righteous. Psalm 69:28

“Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. v9-10

7 mountains = 7 Kingdoms , not Rome

The Angel is explaining this vision to the Apostle John. Most commonly people associate the 7 Mountains with Rome. However since most or all of Revelation is symbolic, I believe the mountains represent power and authority. The 7 mountains are the 7 Kings/Leaders/ect. that represented the Satanic system of Babylon.

Its revealed another leader is yet to come and they will be in power for a little while. I believe this is futuristic as the majority of Revelation is

Then I saw a beast with ten horns and seven heads rising out of the sea. There were ten royal crowns on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads Revelation 13:1

The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast v11-13

10 horns = 10 Kings

One Mind = United Nations against Christ

Satan is making one final push before his total destruction. He’s aligning all his nations that he deceived into following him and doing his dirty work. However as we know the ending wont be pretty for Satan and all his followers

One of the heads of the beast appeared to have been mortally wounded. But the mortal wound was healed, and the whole world marveled and followed the beast. Revelation 13:3

‘As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will subdue three kings. Daniel 7:24

 

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” v14

Ware With The Lamb = Battle of Armageddon

The nations come to finally destroy Israel at the battle of Armageddon, however Christ The Lamb will save Israel, and the remnant will receive Jesus as Lord and Christ

Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle. Zechariah 14:3

Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.” v15-18

The waters = the nations

Word of God is fulfilled

Jesus The Lamb has defeated Babylon and the world has turned on the “Whore of Babylon” , Time is running out for the wicked people and they finally realized their false religion is a total sham. When faithless people get desperate , what do they do? They turn on each other. This is what God ordained to happen to Satans wicked empire

I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; John 17:9

The world loves to over quote John 3:16 , people say Jesus loves everybody! This is true to a certain extent,notice this scripture Jesus is praying on behalf of specific people not the entire world. So what’s going on here?

 

The Greek word for world here is kosmos. The meaning of this word is “inhabitants of the earth”, “the ungodly multitude”, “the human race”, can also imply morally

Jesus is saying he is asking on behalf of the saved (Christians) and not on behalf of the world (the ungodly)

Some might say, this is harsh, however if the world rejects him they are not going to be saved. The only way to salvation is Jesus Christ (John 14:6, Acts 4:12) there is no other way to eternal life. And if you don’t repent (turn away) from your sins, you are not saved

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

The good news is the word kosmos is also used here for world. So lets see how this would read

God so loved the “ungodly, sinners” that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus)

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18

Jesus loves us however if we don’t repent and put faith in Jesus, we are already condemned! If your going to quote John 3:16 you need to include verse 18 also.

The good news (gospel) is Christ has already paid our price, the work has already been done. We need to repent and come to Christ, make him our Lord, then he will intercede on our behalf with the Father Amen!
