Faith, Hope, and Love

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Our Lord Jesus gives us many things, three of these things are faith, hope, and love. These three gifts can be anchors when we are caught in the storm. There are many things that people can take away from you, but they cant take your faith, hope and love when your rooted into the word of God

Faith- complete trust or confidence in someone or something

Do you have faith? Can you truly trust someone with your heart? God demonstrated to us that we can have complete faith and trust in him, through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:8) Even though we were still sinners God not only forgave us but sent his only begotten Son to give us eternal life (John 3:16)

Hope- a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain something to happen

Do you have any hope? When we put our hope in God, it’s not an empty hope but an expected hope because God never breaks his promises (Numbers 23:19) When God makes a covenant its forever, because God does not change (Malachi 3:6)

(Agape) Love- selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional love

When we think of love, we don’t normally think as deeply as sacrificial. But this is the love God demonstrated us from the cross. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son (John 3:16) How could our Creator show us deeper love than this?

So be strong in The Lord knowing that you have the faith, hope, and love of your Heavenly Father that no one can take away from you in Jesus Name Amen

Love Endures Forever

For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:5

Do you feel like God has forgotten about you? Or do you feel that you screwed up your life so bad, God could never redeem you again? Take hope in the promise of God, that his love endures forever. We must remember that every day is a new day, Gods love is new every morning and his compassion never fails (Lamentations 3:23)

We must also remember that even though we were sinners, God still demonstrated his love for us by Christ dying for us (Romans 5:8) See God knows the beginning and the end (Isaiah 46:10) You may have fallen down but God knows you’re going to get back up and be victorious through him (1 Corinthians 15:57)

Remember Jesus came looking for his lost sheep (Luke 15:4) If your feeling lost today, know this that God is looking for you, he waiting to reconnect with you to bring you back home to your promise land Jesus didn’t come here to call the righteous but came here to call the sinners back to repentance (Luke 5:32)

The power of the blood of Christ, can break every chain and cleanse us from our sins ( 1 John 1:7) Because Jesus has overcame the world we can overcome also (John 16:33) So praise our Lord Jesus Christ and give thanks to God our Father for his love and mercy truly endures forever Amen

 

Law of Love

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14

Many people falsely accuse Christians of being hateful and judgmental, but if your truly a follower of Christ then you would love your neighbor as yourself (John 13:34) You can’t fulfill the Law of God without love in your heart, for Jesus didn’t come to save the righteous but came to save the sinners (Luke 5:32)

When Jesus was asked what are the greatest commandments, he said to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37) You can’t be a Christian without Love, for even though we were sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). We are to show the same love and mercy on other sinners (Matthew 5:7)

Does that mean we accept the evil of this world? Absolutely not, for anyone who loves this world does not love God (1 John 2:15) We don’t conform to the ways of the world (Romans 12:2) For the world is ruled by Satan (1 John 5:17) However God loved us enough to send Jesus to save the world and take away their sins (John 3:16)

So if you are a Christian, love your neighbor just as Christ loves you. For the judgement of sins is not ours (Matthew 7:1) For Jesus has been given all authority over Heaven and Earth, and will be the judge (Matthew 28:18) Lead people to Christ through Love and let Jesus save them Amen

 

AGAPE

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

How do you show love? How do you know if someone loves you? God demonstrated his love for us when Jesus died for us on the cross. Jesus said there is no greater love than to lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13) Not only did Jesus display his ultimate love for you but he also considers you his friend

Many consider love to be a feeling or emotion but Love is an action. Love is patient, Love is kind, Love isn’t proud (1 Corinthians 13) these are all actions to display our true love. Just as God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son to save us from our sin (John 3:16)

This kind of love is called “Agape” which is not to be confused with Brotherly Love. Agape love involves faithfulness, commitment, obedience, and self-sacrifice, this is the kind of love God has demonstrated to us because God is Love (1 John 4:8)

Because God loved us and showed us grace and mercy, we can love each other (1 John 4:11) While we were Gods enemies, he still showed us mercy and love through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:10) Therefor if God granted us Love and mercy, shouldn’t you do the same?

Do you demonstrate love to others? Remember Love is more than just words its an action, just as Faith without works is dead (James 2:14), Love without action is empty in Jesus Name Amen

Eternal Citizenship

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ Philippians 3:20

Where is your eternal citizenship going to be? You may say your currently a citizen of this world, but we know this world is temporary and will eventually pass away. (1 John 2:17) Therefor we must prepare for our eternal home, which is with Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:1)

Many don’t want to think about death , but it is an enemy and reality for us all. But because of Jesus grace and mercy at the cross, he has defeated the last enemy which is death (1 Corinthians 15:26)

Jesus told us in Gods house (Heaven) there are many rooms and he has prepared a place for us (John 14:2) So are you going to be dwelling in the House of The Lord for eternity?  Wouldn’t it give you peace of mind knowing your future has victory and eternal citizenship?

There is only one place to get this peace, and its through The Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ (Isaiah 9:6) For his peace he gives to us, not as the world gives it (John 14:27) Meaning when God makes a promise, he keeps his promise, not as the world deceives us

So are you going to be a Citizen of Heaven? Everyone who calls upon the name of Jesus , shall be saved (Romans 10:13), accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and have your name written in the Book of Life (Revelation 20:15) Rejoice for your name will be recorded in Heaven (Luke 10:20) in Jesus Name Amen

Are You A Light to this World?

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14

Jesus has called us to be The Light of The World, so do others see you as a light or a dark cloud? So what does it mean to be The Light? When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9), you are given eternal life which has defeated death and sin (John 3:16). Jesus said whoever follows him will never walk in darkness again (John 8:12)

However, as Jesus goes on to say does someone light a lamp and hide it under a basket? (Matthew 5:15) No when you understand and receive Gods grace through Jesus, you need to share it to the world. (Matthew 28:19) The world is hopeless and in need of a Savior, that Savior is Jesus Christ (Luke 2:11), when you “open the eyes of the blind”(Isaiah 42:7) to Jesus, you shine The Light on them

The next part of the scripture says, a town built on a hill cannot be hidden, meaning when you become a Christian you are going to stand out. (1 Peter 2:9) When you accept the Holy Spirit you become transformed and your mind is renewed, no longer do you conform to the sins and evil of this world (Romans 12:2) And Jesus told us the world will probably hate us because of him (Matthew 10:22)

But Jesus is the Resurrection (John 11:25), The Living Water (John 4:14), The Bread of Life (John 6:35), that gives hope and victory to all of us because he has defeated death and hell. (Revelation 1:18) Let your light Shine to this world in Jesus Name Amen

 

Do You Love Jesus?

If you love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

Many people claim to be a Christian and love Jesus, but are your actions justifying your beliefs? We need to remember Love is not just a feeling, its also an action.  As we learn in (1 Corinthians 13) Love is not self-seeking, rejoices in truth, and endures through all things.

Jesus said there is no greater Love than to lay down your life, (John 15:13) God demonstrated his Love for us at the cross, even though we didn’t deserve it (Romans 5:8) this kind of Love is also called Agape

Agape- is the original Greek word translated to Love, but it’s a deeper love than the superficial one the world is used to. It’s a love of faithfulness, obedience, and sacrifice.

So can you really Love Jesus if you don’t follow his commandments? Sure we are saved by Gods Grace through Jesus (Ephesians 2:8), but remember any sin is a rebellion against God. (1 Samuel 2:14) Remember Jesus said those who are not with him, are against him (Matthew 12:30)

Just like with a parent and child, when a child is disobedient or rebels against there parents commands or instruction, does this show love? No as a parent when our children disobey or lie to us, it breaks our heart. Why? Because we want the best for our children and God wants the best for you also.

So if you truly Love Jesus, then follow his commandments. For he is the truth , life, and way (John 14:6) he will not lead you astray, (Matthew 24:4) Jesus Loves you, question is Do you really Love him?

Eye For Eye?

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. Matthew 5:38-39

With all the violence and hatred in the world today, how do we react? The normal human reaction is for us want an “Eye for Eye” but with this approach when does it end? Jesus taught us to “Turn the other cheek”, instead of answering violence with violence we should try to resist .

Obviously this is not easy and not very popular. Its natural for us to want to avenge our enemies, but the questions is when will it stop? So how as Christians can we apply these teachings Jesus wants us to follow?

Remember Jesus said we must first deny ourselves (Matthew 16:24) before we become a disciple, isn’t violence mostly about human ego and greed? If we truly are a Christian, we must not only Deny Ourselves but also Love our Enemies (Matthew 5:44).

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

One of the most powerful scriptures in the entire Bible is this one, Satan can threaten you with violence or even death, however we should not fear them. See God gives life and can take it away, he is the only one. Even if your physical body is dead, your soul will live as long as God says it will.

This is why Fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom and understanding, because our Heavenly Father, creator of the Heavens and Earth is truly in control. So resist violence, turn the other cheek in Jesus Name Amen

Peace of God

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

So are you having a bad day today? Worried about your family? Worried about your bills? Maybe worried about your health? Whatever it may be, God is saying Don’t be anxious about “anything”

Right now that may seem impossible, but if in every situation we pray to God about our concerns, he will give us peace. We can spend lots of time “spinning our wheels” trying to come up with our own solution, when God has a simple solution for us, pray. Cast your cares to him

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

And when you display your faith, and cast all your cares to God, he will bring you peace. Isn’t that something we all need right now? All the Holy Spirit will guard your heart and mind, from the chaos that’s going on right now.

A lot of times Satan is playing mind games with us, making us believe the problem is impossible or bigger than what it really is. When you leave it up to God he will give you the peace of Christ.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Finally focus on the good things in life, not the bad things. There are always going to be problems, but we have been blessed already. Thanks God for your spouse, your children, your job, your home, your health, whatever you have been provided for. Don’t let a bad day bring you down, let the blessings from God bring you back up in Jesus Name Amen

Who Is My Neighbor?

But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:29

Jesus has told us to “Love our neighbor as yourself” but who is our neighbor? When we think of the word “neighbor” we think of people who live closely to us or maybe people we know. But this is not the true Biblical meaning of “Neighbor”. One man asked Jesus this question and here was his reply

In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. Luke 10:30-33

A few things to notice in this story, first the man that was attacked wasn’t identified by race or stature. Meaning we should help everyone in need, not just our family or friends. Second a priest ignored the victim. This shows you God is not impressed by the man’s religious knowledge but by his human reaction to other people. Third a Samaritan took pity on the man and saved him. During that time Jews didn’t associate with Samaritans as they viewed them below them. However, God noticed the Samaritans good deed.

The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” Luke 10:37

So who is your neighbor? It’s everyone, no matter what race or stature , we are all one through Jesus Christ. So we must strive to not only take care of our own family, but to everyone who is in need in Jesus Name Amen
