On His Back

I gave My back to those who strike Me, And My cheeks to those who pluck out the beard; I did not cover My face from humiliation and spitting. Isaiah 50:6

We often heard the expression “ Take the shirt off his back”, meaning someone was willing to give anything they had to help others. Well Jesus took the wages of our sins on his back and gave us eternal life. See before Christ was crucified on a Cross, the Roman soldiers wanted to torture him by a practice called “flogging”. They used devices with whips, chains, and spikes that literally tore the flesh from the bone every time they struck him. His sentence was 40 flogs before being crucified to a cross.

Jesus knew the torture he was going to face, but willing gave his back, to take the penalty for our sins. The Romans beat him so severely that he could barely stand or walk. But their torture only began there, when they forced him to carry his own cross, that he would be crucifed to death on. He carried it up a large hill called Golgotha, for about a mile.

Eventually after carrying that cross on his back for a mile, he was crucified with spikes and left to die. While he hung there, bystanders mocked and spit on him. But as the prophecy says, he didn’t cover his face with shame. This is a part of Christianity most people don’t like to talk about. But in order for us to understand the seriousness of our sin, we need to understand the debt that was paid for it.

Jesus is righteous, and he paid the price for our sins not his. When you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, your old self dies on the cross and your new self is resurrected with Christ. Understand the wages of your sins is death and Yeshua (Jesus) took that penalty for you, he is the salvation and Lamb of God. Because God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son in Jesus Name Amen

God Will Carry You

and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, just as a man carries his son, in all the way which you have walked until you came to this place.’ Deuteronomy 1:31

The Israelites were weary and burdend on there journey to the “Promise Land” but God said to them “Just as a Father carries there son, I will carry you”. Even in the wilderness where there was no food or water, God provided unlimited amounts of “Living Water” and “Manna from Heaven”

Maybe your Earthy Father has let you down or maybe they passed away. Know this God is your eternal Heavenly Father. His is the beginning and the end, and views you as his own child. Its important we understand our relationship with God as a parent/child. Even when we have been rebellious and stubborn children, our Father still forgives us and wants the best for us.

Do you need God to carry you right now? Sometimes we become our worst enemy, with pride. We refuse to ask for help or try to carry the weight of all our problems on our shoulders. But God is willing to carry you, call out to the name of Jesus and you shall be saved!

Allow your Father to carry you to the “Promise Land”. Don’t die in the wilderness because of your own pride and sin. Call out to the name of your Lord and Savior in Jesus Name Amen!

In Gods Hands

“Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me. Isaiah 49:16

Did God forget me? This is a question most of us have pondered at one time or another. But God makes it very clear, not only did he not forget you but its impossible for him to forget you.

“Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. (Isaiah 49:15)

To truly understand God we must view him as our Heavenly Father, he tells us he views us as his children and its impossible for a parent to forget their own child. When you realize that before you were even formed in your mother’s womb, God knew you (Jeremiah 1:5) God breathed life into your mortal body for a purpose and plan! You were not born by mistake or accident; God has chosen you!

You might say well I’m just one of billions here on this planet, but as it says “God has inscribed you on the palm of his hands”. How many of us when we try to remember something important we write it on our hand? God views you as important enough to write you down, and always remember you

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

God tells us he will never leave us or forsake us. Think about that, even when you’re walking through the “Valley of Death” he is with you. Don’t feel abandoned or forsake , God has you in the palms of his hands in Jesus Name Amen

Peace Like a River

If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea Isaiah 48:18

Do you want Peace like a River? Often when we think of Gods Law or “Torah” , we think negatively. Like hes trying to control us. But actually, it’s the opposite, God is trying to set you free from the traps Satan has planted in this world.

Just as an Earthly Father tries to instruct and guide his children, our Heavenly Father does the same thing. For example, “Thou shall not steal”. As parents, we teach us children not to steal what is not theirs, because children don’t know any better unless they are taught. This is the same with us, how do we know right from wrong without Gods commands?

When we walk with God we walk with a pure conscience that gives us peace. True internal Peace is something that can’t be bought or found in a product. True Peace is knowing you have a clean heart and mind to stand before your Creator.

Jesus is the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6) If you want Peace like a River, follow and accept the Living Word of God. There is no rest for the wicked  (Isaiah 48:22) however there is Peace like a River through our Lord Jesus Christ Amen

Natural or Unnatural?

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. Romans 1: 26-27

Is Homosexuality natural? Homosexuality has become a hot topic in the Christian church. Pauls teaching in Romans is pretty clear that it is unnatural, however there is a movement trying to change this doctrine as saying “Homosexuality is natural, therefor the above scriptures don’t apply to them. My question would be if Homosexuality was natural, why can’t they reproduce naturally?

So what does God think?

‘You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. Leviticus 18:22

God called Homosexuality an abomination. The original Hebrew word for “Abomination” is “toe-bah” meaning “detestable” , “morally disgusting” “loathsome” The abomination that God feels towards “Homosexuality” is the same he feels towards “Idolatry” , it’s the highest

So what does Jesus think?

“If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. John 15:10

Jesus kept all of Gods commandments, as we know he was sinless and the pure “Lamb of God” . Remember any sex outside of the covenant of marriage is adultery (Matthew 5). Jesus taught on the covenant of marriage between a man and woman (Mark 10)

Is there still hope for Homosexuals? Yes , we are all sinners and falling short of the glory of God, however we need to repent. The word Repent means to “changes ones mind” “become transformed”

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

If you deliberately continue to sin, without remorse or change, then you haven’t truly repented. Remember with God all things are possible, call upon Jesus and you can become transformed Amen
