And He said, “A man had two sons. Luke 15:11

As we celebrate Fathers Day , the story I reflect on is the Prodigal Son. It’s a story about how our Heavenly Father loves us and shows us mercy , even when we didn’t deserve it

“The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’ So he divided his wealth between them. Luke 15:12

The Prodigal Son had everything, his Father provided for him. Yet the Son wanted more, he wanted to abandon his Father and family to pursue his own self interests. And just as a loving Father, he allowed him to leave

“And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. Luke 15:13

The Prodical Son quickly squandered all his inheritance. He found out quickly that living for himself and the pleasures of this world, were not so appealing anymore

“Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished. So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. Luke 15:14-15

The Prodical Son had it all at one time, now he is reduced to feeding pigs. Pigs in the Jewish culture were considered unclean and an abomination. This shows you at the level the Prodical Son has sunk to because of his sin

And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him. But when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger! ‘I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight;Luke 15:16-18

The Prodical Son is dying spiritually and physically from his sins. His separation from the Father, has crushed his soul. But the Holy Spirit is leading him back to the Father!

I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.”‘ Luke 15:19

The Prodical Son humbled himself in repentance to the Father asking for mercy. He no longer needs to be a King, he is willing to be a servant in his Fathers presence

“So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. Luke 15:20

The Prodical Sons Father had every right to reject and condemn his Son. However the Father came running to the Son with open arms and embraced him.

We are not worthy to stand before our Heavenly Father , we to are all Prodicals who left the presence of God to pursue worldly interests. However when we come back to the Father, he will accept us in Jesus Name Amen!

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things I Corinthians 13:4-7

As me and my wife celebrate our anniversary I reflect on the words the pastor spoke on the shore of Jamaica when we got married.  The words written by the Apostle Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit, give us a foundation on what Love really is.

In order to have a successful marriage you need to have the true definition of Love. Without a true understanding of Love, marriage will fail. Because Love is sacrificial not selfish. If you put yourself first all the time, then you will end up with yourself all the time. Marriage is the covenant of two people becoming one (Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:8)

If you base your marriage on shallow things you will have a shallow future. True Love endures all things, it wont endure if your marriage is not deeply rooted in Love and God. Anyone can endure good time but when the hard times hit a marriage, its essential to have that foundation to stand on

I’ve been blessed to be married to my soulmate and best friend Heidi, we have been together now over 20 years. We have celebrated good times and endured the hard times, however our true love for one another has enabled us to stay strong and united.

Because of our wonderful marriage , we are able to have created a wonderful family with our two boys. I cant think of a greater blessing from God than for my wife and kids. Although we are not perfect we stand firmly rooted in the true Love that endures all things Amen!

For you have forgotten the God of your salvation And have not remembered the rock of your refuge. Therefore you plant delightful plants And set them with vine slips of a strange god. Isaiah 17:10

Throughout time Israel had an Idolatry issue. They would continually forgot about God and all he accomplished for them, and they would go on and worship false idols and religions. They would forget the times God delivered them from the slavery of Egypt or provide them Manna and water in the desert. They instead followed their fleshly desires to false cults that practiced abominations to God

Many people are like this today, we forget about everything God has blessed or provided us with. Instead we go on following our own false idols or religion. People today spend most of their time dedicated to making money , or watching sports,  or playing on their phones. These all become idols when they are placed more important than God

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. Matthew 7:24

Is God the Rock of your refuge? Jesus said anyone who trust in him is building upon the rock. What are you basing your life on? Are you building a foundation that is solid, strong, and eternal? Or are you building on the sand, building on the temporary pleasures and desires of this world that will produce no fruit?

Don’t forget who your Heavenly Father is, don’t forget who is the Rock of your Refuge in Jesus Name Amen!

Heavenly Father, we pray that everyone would remember you are our Rock, you are our refuge and strength in times of trouble, in Jesus Name Amen

“How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! Isaiah 14:12

The prophet Isaiah reveals alot about our greatest enemy , Satan also known as Lucifer. We see that Satan is trying to raise himself up to become like God and have the entire world worship him. Many people today are worshiping Satan without even realizing it, he’s incorporated himself in books, movies, technology, and of course religion. Satan promotes “Self worship” which is what society has become with social media and YouTube ect

Its obvious when you look at our society today, that Satan has a great influence. Many acts of evil are being committed today that we have never even heard of before, suicide rates have sky rocketed, people are abandoning their children and families to pursue their own interests. This is what happens when people stop worshipping God and start worshipping themselves

“Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit. Isaiah 14:15

However Satans days are numbered. Even though it appears the world is in total chaos and evil has take over, God is still in control. Jesus on the cross, defeated Satan and all evil. The powers of darkness and even death, have no hold on those who have put their trust in Jesus Christ. This is why sharing the gospel is so important

And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Revelation 20:10

Satan (Lucifer) is defeated, his destination is the Lake of Fire along with everyone who worships him. Satan knows his time is limited so you are seeing evil on a high level these days. Don’t follow his deception, follow the only giver of life Jesus Christ!
