Are You A Light to this World?

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14

Jesus has called us to be The Light of The World, so do others see you as a light or a dark cloud? So what does it mean to be The Light? When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9), you are given eternal life which has defeated death and sin (John 3:16). Jesus said whoever follows him will never walk in darkness again (John 8:12)

However, as Jesus goes on to say does someone light a lamp and hide it under a basket? (Matthew 5:15) No when you understand and receive Gods grace through Jesus, you need to share it to the world. (Matthew 28:19) The world is hopeless and in need of a Savior, that Savior is Jesus Christ (Luke 2:11), when you “open the eyes of the blind”(Isaiah 42:7) to Jesus, you shine The Light on them

The next part of the scripture says, a town built on a hill cannot be hidden, meaning when you become a Christian you are going to stand out. (1 Peter 2:9) When you accept the Holy Spirit you become transformed and your mind is renewed, no longer do you conform to the sins and evil of this world (Romans 12:2) And Jesus told us the world will probably hate us because of him (Matthew 10:22)

But Jesus is the Resurrection (John 11:25), The Living Water (John 4:14), The Bread of Life (John 6:35), that gives hope and victory to all of us because he has defeated death and hell. (Revelation 1:18) Let your light Shine to this world in Jesus Name Amen

Gods Calling You!

Moses said to the LORD, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” Exodus 4:10

God had called Moses to be his voice, to be his prophet for his people, to save them from slavery. But Moses originally refused to obey, instead of accepting Gods calling, he made up excuses why he wouldn’t be able to achieve his mission.

What about you? When God is calling you, do you accept your assignment or make up excuses why it can’t be done?

The LORD said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:11-12

Gods response to Moses is truthful, who does Moses think he is complaining about his stuttering? God made him that way, God has equipped us to fulfill our destiny, he knows the beginning from the end, put your trust in him and go!

But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” Exodus 4:13

Again Moses is negotiating with God, telling him to send someone else. But God has already chosen Moses, he was born with this destiny. Just like you, your born for a destiny, question is are you answering Gods calling or still negotiating with God?

Then the LORD’s anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and he will be glad to see you. Exodus 4:14

Gods plan is being revealed, Moses brother Aaron, who eventually becomes the first high priest for the nation of Israel, and is passed down his entire blood line. God has a solution already for your problem, we must trust in his plan and his calling for our lives in Jesus Name Amen

Is God First?

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3

Do you put God first above all other things? Its easy for us to get distracted or sidetracked in todays world and forget about God. Especially when things are going good, but it’s important to keep God first above all things

Worship– Excessive admiration for someone or something

Do you excessively obsess or admire something or someone? This is by definition worship, and its putting something above God. Many times people become obsessed with making money, or following sports, ect. The problem is these distractions take you away from focusing on God.

As Jesus said nobody Can Serve Two Masters, (Matthew 6:24) he was specifically referencing Money as it has become a God for many people. But we must remember Jehovah Jireh God is our Provider (Genesis 22:14) not Man (Philippians 4:19)  God knows your needs and will meet them (Matthew 6:8)

Idolatry– extreme love, reverence, or admiration for someone or something

Notice Idolatry and Worship are basically the same thing; we have a huge issue with this today in our culture. We idolize and worship musicians, movie stars, athletes, ect. This is an abomination to God and it must end. (Exodus 20:3-6) God tells us throughout the Bible to avoid Idolatry at all costs

The Bible also tells that all Earthy things, such as sexual immorality, impurity, evil desires, and covetousness are also Idolatry (Colossians 3:5) Sin can be an obsession, we need to set our minds on things above and Christ (Colossians 3:2)

So are you putting God first? Are you guilty of Idolatry and ungodly Worship? Remember to keep God first above everything else in Jesus Name Amen

Does God Change?

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Malachi 3:6

Many Christians today believe we need to change our beliefs or doctrine to accommodate people’s lifestyle today. The problem is God does not change, and his Word never changes either (Isaiah 40:8)So what is the solution for this? Repentance.

John The Baptist was sent as the messenger to pave the way for Jesus Christ (Isaiah 40:3) what was his message? “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at Hand”.  The problem is people don’t understand the true Biblical meaning of Repentance. The Greek word is metamelomai which means change of mind and purpose. So repenting doesn’t mean to just confess your sins but to also change your lifestyle from sin.

Jesus is the Living Word (John 1:14) and he is the same today, yesterday, and forever (Hebrews 13:8) Therefor God doesn’t change and neither does his Word. God gave us the laws of marriage in Genesis 2:24 and Jesus echoed the same in Matthew 19:5. Notice God does not change.

The reason modern day Churches are failing is because they haven’t truly built their house upon the Rock, they have built on the sand by changing Gods word to fit their congregation. What happens, the storm comes in and crushes the false Church.

As Jesus said if we truly loved him we would follow his commandments (John 14:15) any Church that changes there doctrine to please people is a rebellion against God. All righteous comes from God and he does not change (James 1:17) in Jesus Name Amen

Christ In You

On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14:20

Many people often debate or ponder, what did Jesus look like, however this issue is we are looking at things from the physical world and not the spiritual.

We shouldn’t fix our eyes on the physical world because its temporary, but fix our eyes on the spiritual world because its eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18) God is a spirit, and we must worship him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24)

When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, God lives inside us, the same power that rose Jesus from the grave is living inside us.  (Romans 8:11) So if you want to know what Jesus looks like, look at yourself, look at your neighbor, or your children. We are the temple of God and the Holy Spirit dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16)

So knowing this, would we treat our neighbors differently? Would we be more loving towards our family? Would you truly love your neighbor more knowing that Christ might live in them?

Remember if your truly a Christian, you have been crucified with Christ and he lives in you (Galatians 2:20) , do others see Christ in you? Can you see Christ in others?  No matter what race, gender, nationality, we are all one in Jesus Christ Amen (Galatians 3:28)

Works of God

And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? John 9:2

Many times in life when something goes wrong or were faced with a struggle, we ask God why? Why would you allow this to happen? Why are you making me go through this? This same scenario was brought up by the disciples.

A man born blind from birth, so the disciples questioned Jesus, why? Why would God allow this to happen? Did the man bring it upon himself?

Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. John 9:3

Jesus clearly answered them that the man’s blindness was not his fault. Nor was it his parents or anyone else’s fault. God allowed the man to be blind so the glory of God can be revealed through him. So what does that mean?

First we must remember we live in a broken world, due to our sin we have subjected ourselves to disease and death. Second our purpose of life is to continue to learn and grow in preparation of Gods Kingdom. Since we can’t live in a perfect world, due to our choice of sin, we must learn from our struggles and turn to God.

What struggle or burdens have you been dealing with? Do you blame yourself or God? We need to learn that Satan wants to destroy us, but through Christ we can overcome everything. We can overcome any disease, struggle, addiction, illness, because Jesus has already overcome sin and death.  So cast your troubles to Jesus and allow Gods glory to be displayed through you in Jesus Name AMen

You Can Be Saved

You Can Be Saved

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

There are many people who are living in defeat because they don’t believe  they can be saved, or are not worthy to be saved. But you need to know Jesus came to save everyone including You!

Jesus said in (Luke 5:32) He did not come for the righteous but for the sinners, and since we are all sinners (Romans 3:23), we all need Jesus!  It doesn’t matter your age, race, gender, Jesus came to save everyone, he is the light of the Gentiles (Isaiah 42:6)

What is a Gentile?  Gentile is anyone who is not Jewish, this is what the new covenant is all about.  Because of God’s grace through Jesus Christ, we can all be children of God, Jews and Gentiles (Galatians 3:28). Also tells us in (Romans 10:12), that God is the God of everyone, Jews and Gentiles

Many know the scripture John 3:16 but if you continue reading verses 17 and 18 it tells you Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world and whoever believes in Jesus  is not condemned (John 3:17-18)

So You can be saved, If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) Saved from the enemy of this world including death. Accept Jesus into your heart today and become a new Creature (2 Corinthians 5:17) Amen!

Who Is My Neighbor?

But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:29

Jesus has told us to “Love our neighbor as yourself” but who is our neighbor? When we think of the word “neighbor” we think of people who live closely to us or maybe people we know. But this is not the true Biblical meaning of “Neighbor”. One man asked Jesus this question and here was his reply

In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. Luke 10:30-33

A few things to notice in this story, first the man that was attacked wasn’t identified by race or stature. Meaning we should help everyone in need, not just our family or friends. Second a priest ignored the victim. This shows you God is not impressed by the man’s religious knowledge but by his human reaction to other people. Third a Samaritan took pity on the man and saved him. During that time Jews didn’t associate with Samaritans as they viewed them below them. However, God noticed the Samaritans good deed.

The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.” Luke 10:37

So who is your neighbor? It’s everyone, no matter what race or stature , we are all one through Jesus Christ. So we must strive to not only take care of our own family, but to everyone who is in need in Jesus Name Amen

What Spirit are You?

And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, will you that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did? Luke 9:54

With all the evil in the world, sometimes we feel like the disciples did. When people reject Jesus or even blasphemy his name, its normal to feel some anger. However, we learn from this event that Jesus doesn’t want us to be looking for judgement but to share the mercy of God through Jesus Christ.

In this particular event, the Samaritans rejected Jesus and this obviously made his disciples angry. We see a lot of evil and sin in this world that makes us angry, how do we react? Are we condemning people or praying for them?

But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, You know not what manner of spirit you are of.For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to savethem. And they went to another village.
Luke 9:55-56

The disciples wanted God to consume the Samaritans with fire, like Elijah had done with the followers of Baal. Jesus rebuked them. So what was the difference? Well Jesus has brought a new covenant from God, filled with grace and mercy paid by his blood at the cross. Consuming sinners with fire would negate the reason Christ died for us.

This same covenant is still here today; God is still granting mercy to sinners through Jesus Christ. So as Christians our job is not to condemn sinners but to lead them to Jesus. Is this easy to do? No, of course not but we must not be a roadblock to someone’s salvation.

As Jesus said to the disciples, what manner of Spirit are you? Are you lead by the Holy Spirit or are you lead by a false Spirit of Satan? You don’t need to save the world, we already have a God who has done that in Jesus name Amen

The Last Supper

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover. Matthew 26:19

The disciples didn’t prepare The Last Supper because it was there idea, they were commanded by Jesus to prepare The Last Supper, Why? Because Jesus wanted them and wants you to know how important his sacrifice on the cross is. This is an event that will change the world forever, change the destiny of humanity forever, and defeated sin and death forever.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Matthew 26:26

Notice Jesus First Blessed the Bread, Then Broke The Bread, and Then gave it to everyone. Just as when Jesus fed 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread, he first Blessed The Bread and then Broke it. Breaking of Bread is a Jewish custom that the head of the table or household says the blessing and breaks the bread.

Jesus is not only showing them that his body on the cross will be a broken sacrifice for us like the Bread but also he is the King of Kings, he Blessed, Broke, and Delivered the Bread of Life for all of us

Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26:27-28

Without Blood there is no life and without the Blood of Jesus there is no forgiveness for our sins. He is The Lamb of God, the atoning sacrifice for our sins. So by drinking the wine, remember the importance of Jesus sacrifice on the cross.

The cross created a new covenant with God which allows all of us to be a Children of God. Its because of the Blood of Jesus we can stand before God, pure as snow, unblemished.

I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:29

Jesus is preparing his disciples on what is about to happen at Calvary. But Jesus gives them words of hope and victory as he tells them they will celebrate again in Heaven.

So when you take communion remember what it means, remember the sacrifice Jesus made for you, and remember the victory we have thru Christ Amen
