Eyes Opened

So they were saying to him, “How then were your eyes opened?” John 9:10

What’s it going to take for the world to open its eyes? Jesus came to open the eyes of the blind, to set the captives free (Isaiah 42:7) So what does that mean? Means he came to be truth into the world, the truth about our salvation and purpose. The truth that the world doesn’t want you to know or hear.

When we read this story in John 9, Jesus literally heals a blind man. The disciples questioned Jesus what sins did this man commit to earn this suffering. Jesus explained to them, this man wasn’t born blind as a punishment, God allowed this see everyone can see his glory be revealed.

After Jesus healed the man, everyone was in amazement, they said “wasn’t this the blind beggar?” One touch of Gods glory, he can take us from being a beggar to a child of royalty. Jesus brings hope to the hopeless

So you might say well I wasn’t born blind, but are you currently spiritually blind? Do you understand what God has done for you already? Even though we are all sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8) Jesus brought the light and truth into this dark world. Those who have ears let them hear, those who have eyes let them see (Mark 11:15) in Jesus name Amen

Happy Valentines Day 2017

And the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Mark 10:8

When we think of Valentine’s Day, we think of a holiday about Love.  But is our vision of Love the same as Gods vision of Love? When God created the covenant of marriage, he stated “the two (man and woman) will become one flesh” meaning marriage is meant to be an eternal covenant. When we understand this principle, we understand the seriousness and commitment of marriage.

Many times when we think of Love, we think of “Love at first sight” but is this truly love or just lust? Anyone who is married knows Love contains a lot more than just attraction. Love is not just a feeling it’s an action also. Can someone truly know you love them if you never do anything for them? No, with Love there also needs to be action. The Bible calls this “Agape” a sacrificial deep love.

So when you understand that you and your spouse are now one, the scripture “Do unto others as you would have them do to you” (Luke 6:31) takes a deeper meaning. When you encourage, praise, and build up your spouse, you’re actually building yourself up also. But when you criticize or bring down your spouse, you’re actually making yourself look bad.  It’s important to remember every action by a married couple effects both partners.

I am blessed to be married to my best friend and wife, Heidi, everything we do, we do as a team. God has blessed us with a wonderful family and we continue to build our home upon “The Rock” the word of God. I pray that God blesses your marriage and family. Just remember that you and your spouse are one and to build your house upon God in Jesus Name Amen

Not Of This World

And He was saying to them, “You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. John 8:23

Are you living for this world or are you preparing for eternity? It’s easy to get caught up in this world and live for making money and obtaining possessions. But Jesus taught us that everything in this world is temporary. Everything including this world will eventually pass away but God is eternal (Matthew 24:35) So why do we devote so much time into temporary things?

For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out of it ( 1 Timothy 6:7) All the money in your bank account or the fancy car you drive are not going to save you from death. The world can bring you temporary pleasure, but only through Jesus Christ can we obtain eternal life. Are you preparing for eternity or living for the temporary?

We’ll take it one step forward “Anyone who loves the world, does not love God” ( 1 John 2:15) But how can this be? Didn’t God create the world? Yes but mankind chose to follow the evil of Satan (Genesis 3), and has corrupted the whole world.  The world is ruled by Satan (2 Corinthians 4:4)

When you understand this , you understand why the world is so messed up. You understand why evil does happen in this world. Jesus is not of this world, he has overcome sin, death , and hell. If you want eternity, fix your mind and eyes on above, not below. Prepare for the coming of Gods Kingdom in Jesus Name Amen

Peace With God

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Romans 5:1

Do you have inner peace? Did you know peace can be obtained? The world is always searching for peace, nations spend trillions of dollars on weapons and warfare. While people spend billions on drugs, books, and doctors. What is everyone searching for, we are all searching for Peace.

The only way we can truly obtain peace is through the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6) Jesus Christ. Sounds cliché but the blood of Christ has the power to transform your life. What do I mean by the Blood? The reason nobody has peace is because we are all guilty, we have all fallen short and are sinners (Romans 3:23) you are being convicted by the Holy Spirit, which produces guilt.

But since God loves us and wants us to be his children, he sent Jesus to be our atoning sacrifice, to take the wages of our sins. When you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior you become baptized by the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:11) This is when your transformation comes, and you give up living for the world that keeps you in chains. But live for God that sets your free.

Now our justification comes through faith. Faith is an action, until you confess your sins and accept into your heart that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, your justification can’t happen. So if you want the Peace of God , you can obtain it through Jesus Christ Amen

Throwing Stones

But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” John 8:7

Are you guilty of throwing stones? People thought they were going to outsmart Jesus and trap him into condemning a sinner to death. But what Jesus did was use this as a teaching moment for everyone. As Jesus said, whoever is without sin, go ahead and condemn the woman. But as we all know, we all are sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

Even though we are all sinners, we love to throw stones at other people. Why is this? Why can’t we look in the mirror and convict ourselves as easily? Jesus is teaching these people, stop worrying about other people’s sin, worry about your own sin. When we condemn other people, we condemn ourselves (Romans 2:1)

Jesus taught us judgment is not ours, do not judge or you will be judged (Matthew 7:1) This is a tough lesson to learn, we love to condemn and judge people. But the only one you are condemning is yourself. Jesus said “All power and authority on Earth and Heaven has been given to him ( 28:18)

So stop trying to play God, look in the mirror. Are you able to stand before The Lord with your actions and words? Don’t worry about things that are not yours to worry about, prepare yourself for the coming of The Lord in Jesus Name Amen

Glory To God

“He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. John 7:18

Are you speaking for yourself or God? We see many preachers and pastors speaking in front of the masses but are they doing it for their own glory or Gods? When you name your ministry after yourself and put your name on every piece of literature your Church has, is that really for Gods glory?

I always think about how John the Baptist ran his ministry, he said Jesus must increase or become greater and I must decrease or become less. (John 3:30) What’s he saying? He was saying this ministry is not about me but about the Glory of God. His ministry was about announcing to the world, the Messiah, Jesus, and leading people to repentance to become prepared for the Kingdom of God

John the Baptist never collected money from anyone, his clothes were made of camel’s hair and ate locust and wild honey. (Matthew 3:4) Yet Jesus called him the greatest of prophets (Luke 7:28) So why are all the modern day preachers collecting everyone’s money and buying million dollar homes? Do they really think Jesus will let them enter the Kingdom of Heaven? Jesus said depart from me your evil doers, workers of lawlessness, I never knew you (Matthew 7:22-23)

If you’re going to speak for God, let him speak. Don’t create your own agenda in the name of Jesus.  And whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31) in Jesus Name Amen
