Matthew 25- The Sheep and The Goats

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  Matthew 25:31-34

While Christians anxiously await for the return of Christ, the world will mourn when The Lord returns, (Rev. 1:7, Matt 24:29) why? Because Jesus is coming to separate the Sheep and the goats, the wheat and the tares, the saints and the sinners. The question is, which one are you? Are you a Born Again Sheep of Christ? Or are you dead in your sins?

It’s interesting how the world has turned the term GOAT (Greatest of All Time) into a desired title, while they also look down upon the term Sheep , as weak and stupid. Do you think that is a coincidence? Of course not, Satan has blinded the entire world to lead them to the broad way to Hell. The Sheep hear the voice of The Great Shepherd, the know  and follow Christ. There is nothing shameful about being a Sheep, it’s the greatest title and honor that a person can achieve. I don’t think the world will have many “TEDTalks” about that!

Some might say “I’m not either, because I don’t believe in God” Don’t be deceived, Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords , every knee will bow to Jesus, did you catch that “EVERY”, that includes Atheists, Muslims, demons, angels, ect, there will be no exceptions when Christ returns and takes His throne. You will either be a Sheep or a Goat, you will either inherit eternal life or eternal damnation.

This is why the world will mourn the return of Christ, because when Jesus comes then comes judgment. Many people don’t understand this, that’s why it’s your job as a Sheep to preach the gospel of the Great Shepherd! Satan will keep the world distracted and blinded about The Kings return, because Satan knows his days are numbered, and Satan wants to take as many with him to the Lake of Fire

Jesus said to the Sheep “Come inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” Everything that Christ has done for us, leads up to this moment, to enter into God’s eternal Kingdom with immortal bodies, free from sin and death, to reign with God forevermore! (Rev.21, Isaiah 66) This Victory is already won, it’s just a matter of when! Satan is already defeated, his time is running out, The Lord will return at a day or hour we least expect him

The judgment of God is coming! This is not just a message for Christians, but for everyone, because Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Great Shepherd coming for his Sheep , Amen!

Abba Father, we ask in the Mighty Name of Your Son Jesus, for America to be restored as a Christian nation, under the King of kings and Lord of lords, under the standard of righteousness, as a “sheep” nation. God’s people humble themselves and pray for you to save and heal us, deliver us from all evil, deliver us from the dominion of darkness AND transfer us into Your Kingdom of the beloved Son of Righteousness where we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins AND hasten the new heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:12-13); knowing God our Father doesn’t want any to perish but all to reach repentance. We ask and thank you in advance for “Thy Will be done on earth AS it is in heaven.” Amen. Hallelujah!

Sorry to be critical, for once. I like this blog, and have often “liked” posts on it, and passed comments on it, some of which the relevant authors have liked. I am not ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ, either. However, I am disappointed in this particular blog post, because the passage that includes Matthew 25:31-34 quoted is one that raises tricky questions that this post simply doesn’t address, whereas this post comes across as an attempt to shoehorn the eternally important passage awkwardly into a particular theological emphasis – a “churchmanship” if you like – with some jokey contemporary references that didn’t bring a smile to my face; e.g. “how the world has turned the term GOAT (Greatest of All Time) into a desired title”, something I’d not even noticed had happened, and a feeble quip about TEDTalks, when the words of Christ himself are crying out for exposition that is omitted from the post.

I don’t claim that I understand the whole passage better than the post author, although I cannot rule that out either. I think it is likely that elsewhere on this blog the doctrines are addressed that enable the Lord’s own straightforward *justification by works* doctrine in the passage to be reconciled with the evangelical believism expounded in this blog post ostensibly about the passage, which is based upon the writings of the apostle Paul more than on passages like this. But the sheep and goats passage quoted in part here isn’t one that enables one to make a beeline for the words of Jesus in John 3, to Nicodemus, about the need to be born again, which is what the writer has done.

I notice that NewHeavenOnEarth has raised “social gospel” aspirations, that the Lordship of Christ should be better exhibited in the politics of the USA in future. At the count and declaration after the first time I stood as a candidate for election to Parliament in my country, in 2005, I made a speech in which I took certain liberties with the sheep and goats passage in Matthew 25 myself. I said,

Since the election was held on Ascension Day, I will leave you with this outrageous paraphrase
of my own, of the words of the Lord Jesus Christ, recorded in Matthew chapter 25.

“Then they shall also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee anhungered, or athirst, or a
stranger, or naked, or persecuted, or tortured, or wrongly imprisoned, or being bombed, or
deprived of contact with a parent or a child by family courts, or the victim of injustice, or of
psychotronic abuse, or any non-consensual medical experiments, or weapons testing, or any sort
of human rights abuse, and did not minister unto thee?”

“Then He shall answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye voted again for a
government already complicit in the ill-treatment of one of these the least of my brethren, ye
voted for them to do it to me, again!”

That’s why politics matters to me. That’s why I stood.

The discourse on the sheep and the goats in Matthew 25 has challenged me for decades. Your post on the discourse didn’t set my heart to rest, or remind me of the authentic Christ speaking. For this reason, I mark your essay C-, “could do better”. I hope this doesn’t offend you.
