The Christmas Sheep Part 3

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. John 10:11

When we think of Christmas, we think about the Nativity scene and we think about the baby Jesus being surrounded by animals, especially sheep. I want you to envision yourself one of those sheep if you are a follower of Christ. Jesus says “ He is the Good Shepherd and gives his life for the sheep”.

We must remember this during Christmas, even though its joyful we celebrate the coming of the Messiah (Christ) we must also remember that Jesus came to give his life for us. It starts with the manger , and then the cross, and eventually it is completed at the tomb when Jesus defeats sin and death

But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. John 10:12

Jesus warns us to watch out for the wolves among the sheep. They will deceive many and eventually devour them. Jesus compares false teachers and false prophets to wolves (Matthew 7:15) But as Jesus says “They don’t own the sheep”, If Jesus is your Shepherd you belong to him! Cling to the Shepherd and stay away from the wolves of this world

The Sheep are scattered, however we still belong to the Shepherd, we still answer the voice of the Shepherd, and the Shepherd still protects us! No matter where you are, Jesus is in your midst! Cling to the Shepherd because he loves you and you belong to Him

So this Christmas, envision yourself at the manger with your Savior. You have answered his voice, and he has given his life for you! No matter where you are, the good Shepherd and watching over you! Amen!
