Call Him Jesus

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” Luke 1:31-33

What happened that night in the manger, when God delivered his promise to the world and sent his only begotten Son to deliver us. He is the son of The Most High God. Think about that, the son of the Creator of the Heavens and Earth, sent here to be our Messiah.  Is there any other greater redemption story, than the story of Christs birth at the manger?

And all power and authority has been handed over to Jesus (Matthew 28:18) and he sits on the throne today in Heaven as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. But first he came to this world to not be served but to serve us. (Matthew 20:28) He served us peace, hope, joy, love, and most importantly eternal life.

Gods kingdom will never end, and the road to our redemption started at the manger in Bethlehem. Born of a virgin, he overcame the world. Jesus delivered us from the bondages of sin and death, Glory to God in the highest in Jesus Name Amen

Follow The Star

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Matthew 2:10-11

The Star of Bethlehem led the wise man to find the newborn King, Jesus Christ. What has led you to Christ? If you’re unsure, just like the wise men, why don’t you search the prophesies of the Messiah? When the wisemen set off for a journey of about 1,000 miles, it took them almost 2 years to complete.

The wise men weren’t sure what they were going to find, they did know that the Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem,  and God sent a prophetic sign of the Star, to guide the wise men in finding the King of Kings. Is God sending you a sign today? Come search for your Messiah!

What is the significance of the gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh? These gifts were given to only royalty as it showed the deity of Jesus Christ.

Gold- For obvious reasons, since Jesus was the King of Kings, he was presented with what is still the most valuable commodity on Earth. Gold was always is still is very valuable and a strong representation of Jesus stature

Frankincense-  Another symbol of Jesus deity, as Frankincense was burned routinely in the Temple of God , as it was required by God during worship (Leviticus 2:16)

Myrrh-  a holy anointing oil, yet again another sign of Jesus deity, that he is The Son of God and truly the Messiah.

It’s also notable that Frankincense and Myrrh had a lot of health and healing benefits, even still today they are used.  So what gifts are you offering to your King? God is sending you a sign today, its time to come to the manger and find your Lord and Savior in Jesus Name Amen

Out of Bethlehem

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times. Micah 5:2

God works in mysterious ways. 700 years before Christ was born in a manger in Bethlehem, a prophet named Micah foretold about the coming Messiah. When people heard this prophecy there were probably rejoicing and celebrating, for God has saved them from the oppression of the world.

However, the coming of our King, didn’t happen the way we would all imagine the King of Kings entering the world. He was born of a virgin, who was to be put to death because nobody believed her story. He was carried on a donkey over 70 miles in Mary’s womb making the treacherous journey to Bethlehem.

At the time Mary and Joseph probably thought traveling to Bethlehem was the worst scenario that could have happened, but what they didn’t know was they were fulfilling Gods plan for the world. For our Messiah was to come from Bethlehem, and he did in a lowly manger.

Whatever you think Christmas is about, know this story it begins in the manger in Bethlehem where God sent his son to save the world. Remember this story and the prophecies fulfilled in Jesus Name Amen
