Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” Luke 12:15
This world has made money a God and not even realized it. Think about your daily activities and motives, are they not mostly based around making money? The problem is we base our happiness and expectations of life around money instead of God.
If we just had more money then we would be happy, if we just had a new house that would fix our family problems. But this simply is not true, unless you make Jesus the center of your life you will never be satisfied or peaceful.
And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”‘ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ Luke 12:16-20
This parable shows the motives behind greed, which we are probably all guilty to some aspect. Many of us have enough to sustain ourselves but we always want more. Instead of sharing the abundance we have with the poor, we store it up so we can live like Kings and Queens.
But we need to remember everything in this world is temporary. Don’t waste your time building on the sand build your life on the rock thru Jesus Christ.
“This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:21
I would rather be rich toward God than rich in this world. Money is only green paper, it may make you popular temporarily but it can’t save your soul. There is only who can save and that is Jesus, the Truth, Life and The Way. Don’t put your trust in Money put your Trust in The Lord In Jesus Name Amen
