Rahabs Promise

Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there. Joshua 2:1

Rahab was probably the last person anyone would have picked to do Gods work, but God works in mysterious ways. When we put our trust in God, all things are possible, even for a prostitute.

Maybe you feel like today, God is done with you. That you couldn’t possibly do anything great for The Lord. Understand this story, God took a prostitute and made her righteous.  God is not finished with you either, don’t give up on him.

When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the LORD your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below. Joshua 2:11

Rahab knew of the awesome works God has done, including parting Red Sea. So she humbled herself and submitted to God and did his will. Most people would have probably ignored or mocked God, but her obedience saved her and her family’s life.

Now then, please swear to me by the LORD that you will show kindness to my family, because I have shown kindness to you. Give me a sure sign that you will spare the lives of my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them–and that you will save us from death.” Joshua 2:12-13

Our God is a just God, and he did show kindness and mercy to Rahab and her family. Did God really need to? No of course not, God doesn’t need us we need God.  When we take that leap of faith, God will show us mercy, the same mercy he showed Rahab and her family.

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? James 2:25

A prostitute’s single act of kindness was remembered forever, don’t think that any good deed is small or meaningless. You could be somebodys miracle today, God hasn’t giving up on you because of the Grace we have been giving thru Jesus Christ. Lift your heads weary sinners and see what God can do today in Jesus Name Amen
