Luke 15- Lost and Found

And he spake this parable unto them, saying, What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. Luke 15:3-6

When you understand that this parable was talking about you, it makes you appreciate this parable even more! We were all lost sheep, we all had gone astray from the Great Shepherd, but Jesus wasn’t going to let you go. The Great Shepherd found you and carried you home on his shoulders.

And when you were reunited with Christ, all of Heaven rejoiced! Think about that, the Angels were singing when you were carried home! All of this because God loves you and doesn’t want anyone to perish. Jesus said “My Sheep know my voice and listen to me, and I lay my life down for the sheep” (John 10

You have a Shepherd who laid down his life for you, and watches over you, even in the valley of shadow of death (Psalm 23) Christ is with you, carrying you on his shoulders

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luke 15:7

If someone new comes in off the street to your Church, do you shun them or greet them with open arms? If someone is seeking Christ, I can tell you all of Heaven is rejoicing and you should be too! Don’t be a stumbling block for anyone to hear the gospel, The Great Shepherd may be calling their name and bringing them home!

Are you hearing the Savior’s voice? Jesus is calling You and coming to put you on His shoulders and take you home! Don’t harden your heart, don’t dull your ears to the voice of The Great Shepherd! All of Heaven is rejoicing for You, Amen!

John 10- The Good Shepherd Part 2

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. John 10:10-12

Jesus identifies Satan as the Thief, who comes to kill and destroy. While Jesus identifies himself as The Good Shepherd. Its important to understand you are in a war for your soul. Satan wants to destroy you, while Jesus wants to bring you salvation

Notice Jesus is revealing one of his I AM statements here “I AM The Good Shepherd” as we know God identified himself to Moses as The Great I AM. Jesus is revealing his deity with his 7 I AM statements in the gospel of John.

There are many wolves working for Satan, they bring false doctrine and false religion. There goal is to “scatter the Sheep” to bring confusion to the Church. I think we live in an age where there is more confusion that ever in Christianity. Beware of the wolves dressed in sheeps clothing

The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:13-15

Jesus is prophesying about his own death, he says “I lay down my life for the sheep” Jesus willingly laid down his life for you, to give you eternal salvation. Jesus loves you that much, he knows your name, and was willing to die for you!

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:16-18

Often we hear people say “The Jews killed Jesus” or “The Romans killed Jesus” but actually neither is correct, Jesus reveals He layed down his life for us. Nobody has the authority to kill Christ, He allowed it to happen to be the Lamb of God for the atonement of our sins

There is One Shepherd, Jesus Christ, into One Fold (The Church). There isnt multiple paths to God, its One Way through Christ , our Good Shepherd Amen!
