Only Begotten Son

“I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Psalm 2:7

As we continue to look at the Messianic Prophesies in the Book of Psalms, here we discover the Holy Spirit revealed and confirmed Jesus is the Son of God. As we read in Psalm 2 , God has delivered his King (Psalm 2:6), that will not only reign forever, but will also be his Son

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16

The original Greek word for “Begotten” is mongenes. Meaning “one and only” , “chosen one”, or “unique. The scriptures tell us clearly that there would be only one Messiah, only one Son of God that was fulfilled through Jesus Christ.  There is no other name above the name of Jesus, as he is the only begotten Son of God, the second part of the Trinity.

Many Jewish rabbis say that there will or was multiple Messiahs to fulfill the prophecies in the Old Testament. This is clearly a contradiction to the Word of God. The Bible clearly states there is and will only be one Lord and Savior, and he was delivered to us as a child in Bethlehem.

Every knee will bow and tongue will confess one day that Jesus Christ is Lord Amen!

Cast From Heaven

Upon You I was cast from birth; You have been my God from my mother’s womb. Psalm 22:10

This week we will continue the prophesies of Jesus Christ in the book of Psalms. Psalm 22 gives us a very detailed look into Jesus thoughts as he fulfilled his mission to be the Lamb of God to save the world from their sins. He displays his human side as well as his deity.

The Holy Spirit reveals here in Psalm 22:10 that Jesus would take on flesh and be born. As throughout Biblical prophecy it was known that the Messiah or Christ, would be a child born of a virgin, and he would be the Son of God. And Jesus reveals his struggle as a human, as he is prepared to become the suffering servant to take on the sins of the world.

As Jesus says in (Psalm 22:6) I am a worm and not a man, scorned and despised by everyone. Even today we see many who despise and scourn Jesus Christ. He took on the wages of our sins and punishment that we deserved and he didn’t.  As Jesus said he was “cast from birth”. Meaning he left his throne in Heaven to become our sacrificial lamb for our sins.

So as we celebrate the birth of Christ, remember the gift he has already given us by his love and sacrifice. Don’t make light of the mission he fulfilled as our Lord and Savior in Jesus Name Amen!

Raise Up

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him. Deuteronomy 18:15

When you think of the prophet Moses, you probably view him as one of the greatest or maybe the greatest prophet of The Bible. Heres a man who personally talked to God and led the Israelites out of 400 years of slavery. However Moses himself stated, God was going to raise up someone even greater than Moses, and we should listen to him
First notice the terminology Moses uses here, Raise up! Its because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ that we have victory of sin and death. Moses is not only prophesying about our Lord Jesus Christ , but he’s also foretelling about the resurrection.

Moses also states, that the Messiah will be Jewish. As we know Jesus fulfilled this, he was born in Bethlehem, eventually living in Nazareth. He fulfilled the prophecy of being from the line of David, Jesus is The Lion of Judah

Some might say Moses was referring to Joshua, this only confirms the fulfillment of Jesus Christ even more. Joshua translated in Hebrew is Yeshua which translates to Jesus. It’s no coincidence that the one who superseded Moses had the same name as Jesus Christ.

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17

The gospel of John confirms the prophecy, after Moses delievered The Law of God, Jesus delivered truth and grace at the cross. Listen to Jesus Christ as Moses commanded, bow before the King of Kings Amen!

The Morning Star

Unashamed of Jesus's avatarUnashamed of Jesus

“I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the people of Sheth. Numbers 24:17

Jesus is the morning star, (Revelation 22:16) and it was the Star of Bethlehem that led the shepherds and wise men to the new born King. Balaam, another prophet, who confirmed the coming of our Messiah, Jesus Christ, is the reason we celebrate the season.

A scepter , meaning royalty or King, will rise out of Israel. That King, Jesus, was born in a manger in Bethlehem, fulfilling many prophecies and saving us from our sins. Jesus is the King of Kings (Revelation 19:16) there is no one greater, come and worship your King.

The Moabites had enticed the Israelites into sinning and therefor losing Gods protection…

Gift from God

‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.’ Leviticus 17:11

Often when we think about the birth of Christ, we don’t reflect on why he really came here. We reflect on the peace and hope that came down to Earth, but none of that would come to pass, if Jesus wasn’t willing to be the atonement for our sins.

The world has a sin problem, and the wages of our sins is death. Our only hope for humanity was the arrival of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son, down here to save us from the wages of our sins.

Problem is without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. We are all sinners, and none of us are able to atone ourselves from our sins. Doesn’t matter how many good works you do or how popular you are. We are all condemned by our own sins.

But God loves us enough, to send us a miracle. He sent us a Savior, a Messiah. That would take the wages for our sins for us. Jesus is the atonement for our sins. Celebrate the real gift this season, the gift of eternal life in Jesus Name Amen
