The Great Physician

And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17

The Pharisees seen Jesus eating with sinners and rebuked him! Now lets stop to think about this for a minute, who is a Sinner? We are all Sinners (Romans 3:23, Romans 3:9, Ecclesiastes 7:20) So if Jesus was to follow the Pharisees logic then he wouldn’t bother talking to anyone including the Pharisees.

Jesus here is making a statement that deals with the physical and spiritual realms. First hes talking about the sick who need a physical healing and then hes talking about sinners who need a spiritual rebirth (become saved)

See Jesus didn’t come to give us a temporary fix, he came to give us the permanent cure which is eternal life through him. Even if Christ were to fully restore our health, if we are not saved, then we are still condemned to eternal death due to the wages of our sins.

The Pharisees thought by doing religious works they could earn salvation, but Jesus called them “Whitewashed Tombs” why? Because on the outside they looked good but internally they were evil and corrupt. The love of God was not in them, only self righteousness

Jesus is the only way to get the permanent cure. The price he paid on the cross has given us eternal life. Repent and Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ , The Great Physician Amen!

The Wilderness

“Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians ‘? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” Exodus 14:12

God through Moses freed the Israelites from 400 years of slavery. However when the Israelites finally received their freedom, they began to moan and complain because they were currently in “The Wilderness”

See God promised the Israelites he would free them and deliver them to the “Promise Land”, however in order to get to that Promise Land they need to first travel through the Wilderness.

How about your current journey with God, is he taking you through “The Wilderness”? Are you looking back at your old life and saying “I rather stay there and die”, . God has promised us a “Promise Land” also and it’s the New Heavens and Earth (Revelation 21) , stay focused with God and he will deliver You

The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent.” Exodus 14:14

The struggle in “The Wilderness” was real, this was going to be a long journey through a barren land. However this was the best route for the Israelites to take, because if they took the short route through Philistine country they would have been destroyed (Exodus 13:17)

God knows our needs, and he knew the needs of the Israelites. He provided them food and water in the desert. He delivered them from the hands of Pharaoh and the Egyptian army. He will deliver you also just keep your faith in Christ

But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. Romans 6:17-18

You were once a slave to Sin and death, but Christ has freed you from this slavery as the Israelites were freed also. You are going through your journey into the Wilderness on your way to the Promised Land (Heaven), put your trust and faith in Jesus Christ, the Way Amen!

Spiritual Babylon

Babylon has been a golden cup in the hand of the LORD, Intoxicating all the earth. The nations have drunk of her wine; Therefore the nations are going mad. Jeremiah 51:7

Here the Prophet Jeremiah prophecies about the “Fall of Babylon” , now many probably misinterpreted this to mean the literal Babylon that was oppressing Israel during this time. But this is partly the case, we also see another Babylon in Revelation, so whats going on here?

The word Babylon means confusion. It all started at the Tower of Babel by Nimrod who wanted to be God and create a Kingdom himself. God obviously stopped this movement, and scattered them across the world in confusion.

The Next Babylon during Jeremiahs days, would take over Jerusalem and destroy the Holy Temple. But Jeremiah was also speaking of a “Spiritual Babylon” that we see in the Book of Revelation.

And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality.” Revelation 14:8

Notice we see in the prophecies from Jeremiah and Revelation that “Babylon” has made the entire world drunk. This evil empire would get the entire world to follow its agenda. This agenda would be filled with immorality, does this sound familiar? Do you see evil agendas created by the system today?

But take note, God will destroy this evil empire. Spiritual Babylon will come to ruins, and when it does everyone who is drunk on her immorality will mourn. Don’t follow the Beast, follow the King of Kings and Lord of Lords Jesus Christ.

In the end Christ will reign forevermore, while all evil will be thrown into the Lake of Fire Halleluiah to the Lamb of God Amen!

Permanent Cure

And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Mark 2:5

A paralyzed man heard that the Messiah , Jesus Christ , was coming to his town. He had faith and knew Jesus was the Son of God. So he had a couple of men carry him to the home where Jesus was preaching at. When they got there the home was so packed with people, they couldn’t even get to the front door.

So this mans faith and determination led them to carry him to the top of the house and lower him through the roof. Jesus saw his faith and said something strange, Your Sins Are Forgiven!

What could this possibly mean? Did this man sin cause his physical disability? No , Jesus came to give us the Permanent Cure not a temporary fix. Not only did Jesus heal the man, but he gave him Eternal Life!

Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone Mark 2:7

The religious leaders are outraged! Who does this man think he is? Only God can forgive sin! This is exactly what Jesus was revealing to everyone! If God can only forgive Sin and Jesus forgave Sin, its an easy conclusion to come to

“Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven’; or to say, ‘Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk ‘? Mark 2:9

Which do you prefer Jesus to say? You are Healed or Your Sins are Forgiven? Jesus has the power and authority to do both. Jesus not only provided this man with a temporary fix of healing but he gave him the permanent cure of eternal life by atonement for his sins!

Call Upon The Great Physician, Jesus Christ, to give you the Permanent  Cure Amen!
