Memorial Day 2018

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

When I think of Memorial Day, I think of one word sacrifice. One of the meanings of the word sacrifice is  “the surrender or destruction of something prized or desirable for the sake of something considered as having a higher or pressing claim”  Meaning soldiers gave up their lives for a higher purpose or greater good

Its important we honor and remember our fallen veterans because they gave up everything so we may have freedom here today. In America, everything you are doing right now is because of a veteran. I am writing this blog right now because of a veteran, we are able to get an education or worship in Church, because of veterans. Other countries don’t have these freedoms!

Jesus Christ sacrificed himself to give us spiritual freedom. We are all slaves to sin and held captive to death, however Jesus took the penalty of death upon himself to free us from the grave. He did this not for his own benefit, he did it for a higher purpose and greater good. Jesus did this because he truly loves us and considers us a friend.

The Biblical word for this love is “AGAPE”, this is not a love we typically know. This is a sacrificial love, because anyone can say they love you, but how many are willing do die for you because of love? Remember the sacrifice of our veterans, remember the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because only though him can your soul be truly set free!

Heavenly Father, we pray for our veterans past and present today, may you give them peace and hope through your Holy Spirit, may everyone understand the freedom your Son did for us at the cross in Jesus Name Amen!

Justice

Men will go into caves of the rocks And into holes of the ground Before the terror of the LORD And the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to make the earth tremble. Isaiah 2:19

What is going to save you from the “Great Day of The Lord”? Absolutely nothing. All the money in the world, all your political power, all your possessions and weapons will not save you!  The day when Jesus Christ returns will be rejoiceful for Christians but will be dreadful for the unsaved.

Justice, everyone wants Justice! All the evil and corruption of this world will finally be dealt with righteously. There will be no hung jury’s or corrupted lawyers to plead your case. Yours sins and blasphemy are being exposed by God and justice will be served

BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. Revelation 1:7

Everyone one who is left on the Earth will mourn because Christ returns. Why? Because for Christians the time is for redemption, for the rest of the world their time is up! Judgement is coming upon The Earth, The King of Kings and Lord of Lords has come to cleanse the Earth from evil for good!

If your unsaved what can you do about this? You need to repent of your sins, turn away from evil and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior! There is no other salvation for your soul except through Jesus Christ

Heavenly Father, we pray the world comes to repentance and understands that you are the only way to salvation in Jesus Name Amen!

Worthless Offerings

“Bring your worthless offerings no longer, Incense is an abomination to Me. New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies– I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly. Isaiah 1:13

You go to Church, you throw money into the plate, you repeat some words, does this means your saved? NO… There is only one way to save your soul and that’s by the blood of Jesus Christ. We are all sinners by nature, until we come to repentance and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, you cant be saved.

Even though God made this clear through the prophet Isaiah, many people still don’t understand this. The Jewish people were Gods chosen people, but their hearts were far from him. They allowed sin and idolatry to overtake their lives instead of God. Their sin separated them from God, we cant be in his presence unclean and nonauthentic.

They continued their religious traditions and practices but God says they are “worthless” If you are not worshiping from the heart, your religion is worthless. Jesus is a personal relationship with God not another religion.

The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

Jesus is The Lamb of God, who took away the sins of the world! Only through him can you be saved, you cant be saved by works, only by the blood of Jesus Christ who is the ransom for our sins!

Heavenly Father, help us to worship in truth, lead us to a personal relationship with you through your son in Jesus Name Amen!

God Is With Us

When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they began saying to one another, “Undoubtedly this man is a murderer, and though he has been saved from the sea, justice has not allowed him to live.” Acts 28:4

As we wrap up the book of Acts, one of the memorable stories is when Paul was bitten by a viper or snake. This happened on the Island of Malta , where Paul and the other passengers ended up landing after fierce storms while they were sailing to Rome. The Islanders believed Paul was cursed because he was bitten by this snake, also they assumed he would quickly die because of the venom of the snake

First we need to understand that bad things don’t happen to us because we are cursed, bad things even happen to “good people” because we live in an evil and broken world. When sin was entered into this world through Adam and Eve, the world has become fallen because of the consequences of sin. We are all going to encounter trials and tragedies, but don’t blame God, this is a result of a broken world

Second, even though we live in a fallen world, God is still in control. Paul may have been bitten by the deadly snake, but God saved Paul because of his faith. God has granted everyone “Free Will” therefor he cant intercede in every incident that happens. However if we call on him to intercede, if its his will, he will intercede and save us

Paul went on to lead many more people to Christ through his ministry, God was not through with him yet. God may not be done with you also, call upon him in times of trouble to deliver you from this evil and broken world

Heavenly Father, we know whether in life or death, you are with us and you will deliver us. Help us to have the faith that can move mountains in Jesus Name Amen

Keep Your Courage

“Therefore, keep up your courage, men, for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told. Acts 27:25

While Paul was being sailed to Rome for his court hearing, they encountered a fierce storm which everyone believed they would lose their life. But Paul knowing Gods will by the Holy Spirit assured them they would all survive, they just need to keep courage!

You may be going through a storm today in your life, maybe your going through a personal battle today, remember that God knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). Remember one day to God is a thousand years for us (2 Peter 3:8) Our timing is not the same as Gods timing, we need to have patience and faith!

The men on the ship have been stuck in the storm for 14 days now and running out of food. Most of the men were planning on abandoning ship and try to swim to shore. But Paul told them “Unless you remain with the ship, you cant be saved (Acts 27:31). This happens in our own lives also, many times when things get tough our initial instinct is to “cut and run”. But sometimes in order to see Gods miracles we need to stay in the storm and ride it out.

Eventually they made it safely to land, just as the Holy Spirit promised to Paul. What if they went against Gods will and jumped overboard. They might have all lost their lives. Its import to trust in God because his ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts! Keep Your Courage In Jesus Name!

Heavenly Father, please help us to put our faith and trust in you, even during our storms we know you have made a way for our salvation in Jesus name Amen
