Freedom of Christ

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

Many people, even today, are trying to set themselves free. They believe if they do enough “good works” or follow enough rules, they will be justified before God. This is a false misconception and doctrine many are blindly following

Nobody can be saved except through Jesus Christ. Its that simple, many want to believe they can work out their own salvation, its not possible. The wages of sin are death, the only way you can break free from that yoke is by the blood of Jesus Christ

You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. Galatians 5:4

Paul warns those who try to justify themselves by The Law have fallen from Grace. This is a strong warning from Paul, why? Because when your putting more faith in your own works rather than the works of Christ, you are denying Christ.

Nobody is justified before God without the blood of Christ, nobody!

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. Galatians 5:6

Circumcision (Works of the Law) have no value without Faith in Jesus Christ as your salvation. Without true Faith in Jesus, your wasting your time, you need to become circumcised at the heart (spiritual) repent and become Born Again!

So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

There is only one way to true Freedom and that’s through Jesus Christ. People try to generate their own freedoms, but are just temporary and leave you in bondage. The Son of God has set your Free, by Faith you have been saved, Amen!

New Covenant

“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, Jeremiah 31:31

Ever since the “Old Covenant” God has promised to deliver a “New Covenant”. In order for God to create a New Covenant he needs to fulfill or complete the Old Covenant.

Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. Matthew 5:17

Jesus fulfilled the Old Covenant, he needed to fulfill the Old Covenant in order for there to be a New Covenant.

not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. Jeremiah 31:32

Notice God says this “New Covenant” is not going to be like the “Old Covenant” As it says “My covenant which they broke”. Time after time Israel broke the vows of the Old Covenant with God by practicing idolatry with false gods and practicing immorality

But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Jeremiah 31:33

So will say “How can we live morally if we are no longer under the law”? God says he will put his law in our hearts. Meaning through Christ we become baptized by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives inside us to sanctify us and convict us of our sins.

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. Luke 22:20

Jesus declared by the shedding of his blood, the New Covenant has been established. Come to Jesus and be set free from sin and death Amen!

Children of Promise

And you brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise. Galatians 4:28

The Apostle Paul is using the example of Hagar and Sarah that there are symbolically two covenants. One covenant is the Mosaic Law which keeps everyone under the yoke and in slavery. The other covenant is Christ which sets us free from the law under grace.

This is allegorically speaking, for these women are two covenants: one proceeding from Mount Sinai bearing children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar. Galatians 4:24

Now notice one of these covenants (Sarah) was the promise from God, while the other covenant (Hagar) was from the works of man. God promised Abraham to deliver him the Son Isaac, and he fulfilled that promise. But while Abraham became impatient , he had another son with Hagar, that was not part of Gods plan. One covenant came from God, while the other covenant came from the works of man

But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also. Galatians 4:29

Those who are under the covenant of the law are persecuting those under the law of grace. Why? Because one Covenant is of Christ, while the other covenant is against Christ. The Holy Spirit is now within them, so they have been circumcised of the heart

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

God delivered us his promised Son, so we can become Children of God. Jesus is the Messiah, the Promised One throughout the scriptures. Whoever believes in Jesus shall not perish Amen!

Children of God

‘You shall be My people, And I will be your God.'” Jeremiah 30:22

Even though the Israelites have continually been sinful and rebellious , God has a plan of restoration for them. Even though God allowed the Israelites to be overtaken by there enemies, as punishment for their idolatry and sins, God was disciplining them not forsaking them.

There is a difference between Discipline and Abandonment. Discipline brings learning and obedience. When a child does something wrong, you discipline them. You don’t throw them out of your house, you teach them the fault of their ways.

‘It shall come about on that day,’ declares the LORD of hosts, ‘that I will break his yoke from off their neck and will tear off their bonds; and strangers will no longer make them their slaves. Jeremiah 30:8

The Time of Discipline was about to be over for the Israelites. God didn’t leave or forsake them, he was about to break the yokes off their necks and set them free again from slavery. Why? Because these are Gods children and he is their Father.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:28-29

Jesus didn’t leave or forsake you either. He said “Come To Him and He will give you Rest”. This time Christ is going to share your yoke with you! No longer are you alone, God came down to give you peace and rest.

Through Christ we are Gods Children, through Christ we are not forsaken or abandoned. Through Christ our Yokes are now easy and light in Jesus name Amen!
