Good Fruit

“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. John 15:2
Your faith is like a tree, the word of God is like a seed, when you accept Gods word for truth and learn and grow from it, you grow stronger in your faith.

Jesus said we would know false prophets “By their fruits” (Matthew 7:16) if we don’t produce “Good fruit” then eventually God will cut us off (John 15:2), so what is Good Fruit? Lets look at the Fruits of The Holy Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galations 5:22-23)
If your actions don’t match those qualities of the ones above, then your actions are not from God but from the flesh. Its important we remain lead by The Holy Spirit and not by our own flesh.

Second God says “We will be pruned so we can bear more fruit “ (John 15:2) Some might wonder as a Christian, why would God allow you to suffer? Sometimes our pain and suffering is to prepare us and grow us “Good Fruit”

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. (James 1:2-3)

Don’t be misled by the fake “American” “Prosperity” Gospel, for anyone who loves this world and things of it, God is not in them (1 John 2:15) As a Christian there will be trials and tribulation, but know in the end we have the ultimate victory by the Blood of Christ in Jesus Name Amen!

Are You Ready? #Eclipse2017

“Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. Matthew 24:42

Could the Great Eclipse be a sign of the Return of Christ? If Jesus came today would you be ready? Jesus clearly stated that nobody will know the day or hour of his return, however he did tell us to be ready for his return.

“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, Luke 21:25

Jesus taught that God uses the heavens to give us signs, a giant billboard from Heaven. With all the attention and excitement generated for the Great Eclipse , could God be using this to get everyones attention? Even if Christ doesn’t return on Monday, their should still be a call to repentance. With all the violence and evil going on in this world, there is no better time than now to return to The Lord

“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ Matthew 7:23

If Jesus did return and you are standing face to face with the Holy One, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. What would he say to you? Would he say “Good work my faithful servant (Matthew 25:23) or will he say “Depart from me I never knew you! Lawlessness by Biblical definition is sin. Any sin is an act or rebellion against God.

Did you repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Time might be running out, you don’t want to be “Left Behind”, Jesus is your only way to salvation! Keep your lamps lit and eyes in the sky!

He Has Risen #ResurrectionSunday

“He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, Luke 24:6

Some of the sweetest words in the Bible are  “He has Risen”.   The resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is complete. Just as Jesus said on the cross “ It is Finished”, the completion of victory over the grave is done. At this moment, no more are we slaves to sin and death, Jesus has conquered the grave!

And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, Luke 24:2

The stone has been rolled away! Even though this is literal, this is also symbolic for our lives. Rolled away is sin, sickness, and death! And now enters the power and glory of our Heavenly Father that has breathed life into our bodies. The rolling away of the stone from the tomb, is the passage of your suffering and sorrow. Because when Jesus stepped out of that tomb, you can now rejoice with victory and hope! Because Jesus has overcome the grave!

and the face-cloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but rolled up in a place by itself. John 20:7

A very symbolic sign often missed by most. Jesus took the time to roll up his linen cloth as a sign he will return. There’s a Jewish custom to fold your napkin when you leave the table if you’re going to return. Jesus did this before he left the tomb as a sign to us all that “ The King is Coming Soon!’

Jesus walked out of that tomb alive forevermore, and he’s coming back for his Church, give Glory to God for his victory at the cross! He has Rise Indeed in Jesus Name Amen

Passover Lamb #GoodFriday

The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

If there is any question how Judaism and Christianity are linked together, look no further than Passover/Easter. When the prophet John the Baptist announced, Jesus was the “Lamb of God” everyone knew what he was talking about.

The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. Exodus 12:13

To understand what Jesus has done for us at the cross, we need to understand what happened at Passover. The Israelites were being held slaves for over 400 years until God sent the prophet Moses to finally free them. Egypt’s refusal to allow Gods people go, left him no choice but to send 10 deadly plaques to call for their repentance.

The final plague was the Angel of Death that would “Passover” any home that was covered by the blood of the sacrificial “Lamb of God”

for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26:28

Fast forward to when God sent his only begotten Son, as the perfect “Lamb of God’ to forever take away the sins of the world. Anyone who is covered by the “Blood of Christ” death will “Passover” them and we will live eternally in Gods Kingdom.

Remember this Passover/Easter, that Jesus is The Lamb of God. Because of him death will Passover you during the Resurrection in Jesus Name Amen

Holy Communion

While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Matthew 26:26

What is Communion? The definition is sharing or exchanging intimate thoughts and feelings especially on a spiritual level. This is exactly what “Communion” is. Jesus broke the bread to symbolize his body that was sacrificed on the cross as a ransom for our sins.

It’s important to remember Jesus laid down his life for us willingly (John 15:13). Gods plan of redemption didn’t just happen by mistake. Jesus was sent here to be our “Lamb of God” (John 1:29) and take away the sins of the world

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. Matthew 26:27-28

The wine or new wine (grape juice) that we drink is symbolic for the blood of Christ shed for our sins to cover us and make us redeemed. It’s important to remember there is nothing in this world that is more powerful than the blood of Christ. It broke every chain, washed away every sin, and makes even Satan tremble in fear.

“But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.” Matthew 26:29

Jesus is saying after this moment he going to be tortured and crucified for our sins. And after his mission was completed and he defeated sin and death. One day he will return again as King of Kings and restore the Holy Kingdom of God in Jesus Name Amen

Lent Season

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Matthew 4:1

What is Lent season all about? Although the Bible doesn’t mention the word Lent, the season is based off the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness and was confronted by Satan.  Jesus displays how to overcome our temptations by turning to God

And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'” Matthew 4:3-4

Many times in life we worry most about our physical needs and not our spiritual needs. Just as Jesus said, we can’t live off just food alone, it may satisfy a temporary need, but our souls are eternal. We need to feed our souls the Word of God, the Bread of Life Jesus Christ.

and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU’; and ‘ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.'” Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’  Matthew 4:6-7

Is it our will or Gods will? Many people want to test God, for him to prove himself. But its Gods will be done, not ours. Stop trying to tempt God, allow him to reveal his glory in due time.

and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'” Matthew 4:9-10

As humans we have an ego problem, we want others to praise and magnify us. But there is only one God and he is the only one worthy to be praised. Those who humble themselves will be exalted by God.

So are you reflect this Lent Season, what temptations is Satan challenging you with? Draw near to God and he will draw near to you in Jesus Name Amen

Fulfillment of The Law

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Matthew 5:17

Did Jesus abolish The Law? The word “abolish” means to end or terminate, so did Jesus really end The Law? First  what is The Law? The Law or Torah are the first 5 Books of The Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers,  and Deuteronomy) that are written instructions given by God handed down to Moses. The Law not only defines what sin is, but also the consequences of sin.

Without The Law there would be no consequences for anyone’s actions. Imagine if your town abolished all its laws, what would happen? There would be anarchy, looting, rioting, probably even murder. This is the same with Gods Law, if he abolished it there would be no consequences for sinners. So it wouldn’t make sense for Jesus to abolish The Law.

Jesus did however “fulfill” The Law. What does this mean? We know from the Bible that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) and we are all sinners (Romans 3:23) therefore if we all lived “Under the Law” we would all be condemned to death. No matter how righteous you believe you are, you are guilty. But on the cross, Jesus became our ransom (1 Timothy 2:6) and took our place of condemnation. As it says God sent his Son (Jesus) born “Under The Law” (Galatians 4:4) Therefore Jesus fulfilled The Law for us.

But if your led by The Spirit, you are not Under The Law (Galatians 5:18) When you truly become a Christian and live for Christ, you no longer live for the flesh but by The Spirit of God. Does The Law still exist? Absolutely, and all those who live by the flesh and reject Christ are condemned under the Law. But all those who call upon the name of Jesus shall be saved (Romans 10:13) Amen!

God Demonstrated Love

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

How do you know someone loves you? Can love be shown without action? Many people who don’t know God would like to paint him as an angry and wrathful God. But when we understand what God, our Heavenly Father, has done for us already. We then understand that God does so love the world that he gave his only begotten Son (John 3:16) to free us from our bondages of sin and death

See even though we were rebellious, unholy, wicked, and disobedient. God granted you grace and mercy through Jesus Christ. Did we deserve grace and mercy? No but God’s love was demonstrated for us on the cross, Jesus tasted death for the punishment of our sins, not his.

There is no greater story of love and mercy than through Jesus Christ. Now don’t be misled, because of sin we still live in a broken world. There will still be pain and suffering. However, we can have peace and hope knowing that through Christ we will overcome death. Because our Lord has risen we will rise also and have eternal life in our Fathers Kingdom.

There is no love without action. Just as a man who loves a woman, demonstrates that love with the covenant of marriage. God has demonstrated his love to us through the covenant of his son Jesus Christ Amen!

Conquerors

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37

Are you a conqueror? Or do you feel like you have been conquered?

The original Greek word used in this scripture “hypernicōmen” means “we are more than conquerors”

First thing we need to understand is there is no greater victory than Jesus Christ. People see Christ dying on the Cross as weakness, but they don’t understand he laid down his life willingly (John 10:18) to save the world. As Jesus said in Matthew 26:53 “Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?”

Jesus is saying “I AM The Son of God, if I wanted to wipe out the world I would, but because of Gods great love and mercy for us, he gave his only Son”

On that Cross Jesus defeated all strongholds against us, he defeated sickness, disease, addiction, depression, anxiety, and most importantly he defeated death.  As we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13)

If Christ is living in you, you are a conqueror. Nothing in this world can defeat or overcome you. Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33) But we must remember that we can’t do anything without faith, if Jesus is truly your Lord and Savior, that have the faith that you are truly a Conqueror

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

Notice Paul’s faith here, he is truly convinced that he is a conqueror through Jesus Christ. Notice there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God. Its time to renew your strength and declare that you are a Conqueror in Jesus Name Amen

Hedge of God

“Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. Job 1:10

When we read the book of Job we learn many things about the battle between Satan and God. We also learn that God had put a “hedge” of protection around Job and his family because he was blessed by God. When we stay loyal and obedient to God he will bless you and your family also and put a “hedge” around them.

Hedge- also translated as “Wall”- is a surround or border put around something

God was bragging to Satan how proud he was of Job, because he was a righteous man. But Satan complained to God that he couldn’t get to Job because of the “hedge” of protection around him and his family. God then allowed the “hedge” to be lifted for Satan to test Job.

So if you really want to bless your family and yourself, get in agreement with God. Have your family covered by the blood of Jesus Christ (Luke 22:20) There is no power greater than “The Great I AM” If you truly cared about your family, you would put the “Hedge” of God around them in Jesus Name Amen
