Good question….Very bizarre situation…I think Lawson was a member on paper, but in reality he basically was just a celebrity preacher who they paid to get people in the seats.
I’m not aware of Spurgeon ever falling into great sin as a Pastor, which makes the comparison all more odd….God bless!

So if Steve Lawson was a member of Trinity Bible Church, why couldn’t have Lawson been disciplined as a regular member?
Comparing Steve Lawson to Spurgeon is called “sin leveling” or treating all sins as equal.
