For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
What is the true gospel? Well Ephesians 2, is a great description of the true gospel, By grace we are saved through faith and not of ourselves. The common denominator for all false religions and groups, is a work based salvation. If you want to know if you belong to a true Christian group, ask your leaders , “what must I do to become saved”? This sounds like a simple question, as it should be, however most false religions and groups, will have you jumping through hoops trying to earn your salvation
It’s only by Gods grace that we are saved, period. None of us deserve to be saved, in fact all of us deserve the punishment of eternal Hell. If you don’t understand that, then you probably don’t understand your sinful nature. We are all sinners and have all fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) the penalty or wages of our sins is death (Romans 6:23) , but the gift (grace) of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23) Its only by the grace of God through our faith in Jesus Christ, that we are saved!
There are no works that we can achieve or obtain to save ourselves, its the gift of God not of our works! It’s the works on the cross, by our Lord Jesus Christ, that paid the wages for our sins. Why did Jesus die on the cross? To pay the penalty or wages for your sins, so that we might be justified before God. Nobody can boast about them getting saved, they should boast about our Lord Jesus Christ, who willingly paid the ultimate price for our sins, because God loves us
So does that mean we stay the same? Absolutely not, we are God’s workmanship or masterpiece, we were made in the image of God, and now through Christ, the Holy Spirit is living inside of us! We have become Born Again through Jesus Christ (John 3:3) we are a new creation, our old sinful selves has died and we have been risen with Christ to walk in the newness of our lives (Romans 6) This part is called sanctification, as the Holy Spirit continues to work on us to be more conformed to the image of Christ
So you want some good news today, You are saved by the Grace of God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ! The Lord already paid the penalty for your sins, and you can be reconciled back to God and sanctified through the Holy Spirit, Amen!
