Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.  John 10:1-3

Jesus reveals another title of his, The Good Shepherd. Notice anyone who tries to enter by any other way but the door is a thief and a robber. What is the door?  It’s more appropriate to ask Who is the Door? The door is Jesus Christ , as He identifies himself later in verse 9

The sheep (Christians) hear his (Jesus) voice and calls them by name! Imagine that Jesus knows you by name and died specifically for you on the cross to give you eternal salvation! There is nothing more special than our relationship we have with the Good Shepherd Jesus

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. John 10:4-6

Jesus went before you, to deliver us from sin and death. He doesn’t just command us to do things, he has already accomplished all these things. Jesus leads by example, He overcame the world, he overcame sin and death, by going to the cross and paying the debt for our sins

Christians know the voice of Jesus, those who abide in Christ are not misled by false doctrine or teachers. They know the words He spoken, they know when something is in opposition to his gospel. 

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:7-9

Here Jesus reveals that He is The Door, meaning He is the only way to God. There is no other way or path to eternal life. Jesus is the only One worthy to pay the debt for your sins, Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God

Jesus warns there will be many false prophets and false religions, but those who are saved know the Shepherds voice. He will lead us through the valley of the shadow of death and take us to green pastures Amen!
