Did Jesus return in 1914?

The Jehovah Witnesses teach that Jesus returned to Earth on 1914, did this really happen? If Jesus did return to Earth, why hasn’t anyone seen him? Didn’t Jesus say that everyone would seem him when he returned?

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7 (KJV)

In Revelation it clearly shows us when Christ returns that every eye will see him. That means everyone in the world will know when Jesus returns to Earth, it won’t be a secret. If Christ did return in 1914, why was it not historically documented anywhere? Not to mention, when Christ returns this will kickstart the judgement of the world according to the Bible

Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened,f and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.g ³⁰  Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief,h and they will see the Son of mani coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.*j Matthew 24:29-30 (NWT)

Jesus teaches us that after the tribulation He will return. Did we go through the tribulation yet? Of course not. As we read further the sun will be darkened and stars will fall from Heaven, was any of this recorded during 1914? No, there is no historical record of any event happening

Next Jesus tells us again everyone will see Christ in the sky and everyone on Earth will mourn. Again was there any historical record of anyone seeing Jesus in 1914. Again the Bible is clear when Christ returns the entire world will see him

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew 24:36 (KJV)

Jesus goes on to teach that “Nobody” knows the day or hour when Christ will return except the Father. The fact that the JW’s are claiming Christ returned on 1914 is not only wrong, but Biblically it makes them a heretic

So why are the JW’s pushing this doctrine when it clearly didn’t happen and is not Biblical?

Because their founder Charles Taze Russell made false prophecies, so rather than the Watchtower rebuke his false teachings, they conformed their doctrine to fit his false prophecies
