What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. Luke 15:4-5
When we think about Christmas, we think about the Nativity. When we envision the Nativity, we think about the baby Jesus being surrounded by animals, specifically sheep. As we learned from previous posts, Jesus is our Good Shepherd, we know the Saviors voice and we follow him. The Shepherd also lays down his life and protects the sheep
What if one of those sheep gets lost? The Good shepherd leaves the other 99 sheep to go find his 1 lost sheep. Remember Jesus said “we belong to the shepherd”, you were bought with a price of Jesus blood (1 Corinthians 6:20) you belong to Christ and he goes looking for his lost sheep!
Notice what happens when Christ finds his sheep, he puts them on his shoulders and rejoices! He didn’t condemn the lost sheep because the price was already paid for their debt.
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luke 15:7
All of Heaven rejoices when that lost sheep is found and repents of their sins. Just as in the way the sky was filled with angels glorifying the birth of our Savior! The sky is celebrating with angels every time a lost sheep comes home to the Good Shepherd
If your lost, come to the manger. Come to the Good Shepherd who you belong to! Let the heaven rejoice by your return to God Amen!

Merry Christmas, brother.
