Jesus Desires Communion

And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: Luke 22:15

Sometimes we can feel distant from Jesus, we can feel like all our worship and actions are in vein. However one of the reasons Jesus instituted “Communion” was for us to have that interaction and closeness with him. As Jesus says here: “He desires to have this Passover with You”

Now you might say, “Jesus is talking about the Passover meal”, however what happened at this Passover meal? Jesus introduced the Lords Supper during this meal, this was also the time before Christ went to the cross for us. I believe Communion is the fulfillment of the Passover meal

And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Luke 22:19

Jesus said to “Do this in remembrance of Me”, meaning not to do this once a month or once in a while. Jesus commanded us to have communion with him, why? To have that relationship with him, to declare that you are part of his New Covenant, to profess your faith in Jesus Christ!

The bread is broken, just as Jesus body was broken on the cross for your sins! Do this in remembrance of Him!

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:20

The words “Testament” and “Covenant” are used simultaneously. Your Bible is split up in the Old Testament (Covenant) and the New Testament (Covenant). What changed between Malachi and Matthew? The Messiah (Christ) came and broke his body and shed his blood for your sins.

And he rose again on the 3rd day to defeat sin and death forevermore. This cup in Communion is the symbol of his blood which is the New Covenant Amen!

Mystery of Judas

Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. Luke 22:3

One of the great mysteries of the Bible is Judas, was he ever saved? Did he become unsaved? Was his destiny predetermined? Did he betray Jesus upon his own free will?

When you start analyzing these questions, you get a lot of thoughts and theories flowing in your head, which is why I wanted to address this. I would like to analyze these thoughts and you can come to your own conclusions

Was Judas ever saved (Born Again)? Judas was part of Jesus inner-circle. He was a disciple who had direct teachings and interaction with the Son of God. Is it possible he was a complete fraud the whole time? Or was he saved at one point and fell away? Is it possible to become “Unborn Again”?

But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table. Luke 22:21

Jesus knew Judas was going to betray him before it happened. The obvious first thought is Jesus is God therefor he knows the past, present , and future. If Jesus always knew this why did he allow Judas to be part of his inner-circle? Was Judas able to repent or was he always predestined to be the Son of Perdition?

But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? Luke 22:48

Did Judas not understand or truly believe that Jesus was the Messiah? If he knew or believed Jesus was God, would he really betray him for some money? Makes me think Judas had no real understanding of who Jesus was or authentically believed in his teachings

And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. Matthew 27:5

Judas eventually realizes who Jesus really is, and he realized what exactly he did. Judas knows by ultimately leading the Romans to kill Jesus, he is guilty of the Messiahs blood, so he hangs himself.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 17:12

Jesus calls Judas the “Son of Perdition” and that Judas is not saved. Meaning Judas went to Hell , how do you go from being a disciple of Christ to condemned to Hell?

I don’t believe Judas was every really saved (Born Again) otherwise he would have known who Jesus really is.  Be careful not to be a Judas, make sure you are Born Again! Don’t be just a follower of religion have an authentic relationship with Christ!

Parable of The Fig Tree

And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. Luke 21:29-30

Where I come from, you can tell what season it is based on the trees. When its winter, the trees are barren with no leaves. When it becomes Spring, all the buds start to emerge and bloom. In the summer, everything is in full bloom. When Fall comes around the leaves change colors and begin to fall

This is what Jesus was teaching us about his return. How do you know what season we are in? Its based on the signs around us.

So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Luke 21:31

Jesus said “When you see these signs you will know my return is soon” So what are the signs we should be looking for? Well Jesus told us earlier signs would include false religious leaders,  wars, natural disasters, and the love of others would become cold

You say, “Wait all these things are happening”, Yes these are the birth pains of the return of The Lord, are you ready? Is your lamp full waiting for Jesus? You might say, “I don’t know what that means”, well you should probably figure that out then!

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Luke 21:32-33

Heres a message to all you global environmentalist, the world is going to pass away. Why? Because its corrupted and will be judged by its Creator. Instead of worrying about plastic bottles, start worrying about your eternal salvation. Get right with God, repent of your sins, receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, Amen!

Temple of God

And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. Luke 21:5-6

I think one of the most significant events that are overlooked is the destruction of the Temple. Jesus predicted that this day would come when the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed, and it happened in 70 A.D.

Now to understand the significance of this you need to understand the Temple of God. This was the holiest place on Earth, the only place where the Spirit of God dwelled. The only place where you can get atonement for your sin, the only place where the Ark of the Covenant lived.

But Jesus was about to change all of this, as Jesus said Destroy this temple in 3 days and I will raise it up (John 2:19) The New Covenant no longer required a Temple because we become the Temple of God by becoming Born Again through Jesus Christ

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? Luke 21:7

The disciples wanted to know, “When will this happen”? After the Resurrection it turned the whole world upside down. Why? Because Jesus defeated Sin and Death, Satan no longer has a hold of us. So what happened? The whole world went into chaos, even today we still see the chaos.

But the Romans fulfilled this prophecy of destroying the Temple in Jerusalem, and it was never rebuilt again. Why? Because the Old Covenant has been fulfilled, the New Covenant is we are the Temples of God and the Holy Spirit lives inside of us! (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

2 Coins

And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had. Luke 21:3-4

The New Covenant is about having a “New Heart”, its not about what religious acts we perform or how much money we give, its about the intention of the heart. Do you love God with all your Heart, Mind, and Soul

Here we see the rich putting in their large gifts or offering into the box, and a poor widow giving only 2 coins. Jesus observes this and says she has given more with 2 coins, than all of the rich in the synagogue. Why? Lets think about her situation.

She was a widow, meaning her husband passed away, in the Jewish culture at this time she had no income. There was no welfare system, she was living hand and mouth. So for her to give 2 coins, meant her family might not have any food to eat. It means she is now poorer than poor

But what does that say about her faith? It says she totally trust in God to provide for all her needs. This is why Jesus commends her gift above the others. Because she gave from the heart with true faith. While others just give God crumbs they had leftover

This is not about money , its about your Heart. What are you giving to God? Are you giving everything you have or are you giving him the crumbs underneath the table?
