For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Romans 4:3
People might wonder, how can you become saved? The Apostle Paul reminds us of Abraham, God considered him righteous because he believed. You might say, this sounds too easy, but lets consider the life of Abraham.
Abraham who was raised in a pagan nation and family, answer Gods calling and moved his entire family to Gods Promised Land. Not only that, God promised Abraham, a man about 100 years old, he would have descendants as numerous as the stars.
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. Romans 4:4
Abraham took some bold steps of faith because he truly believed God. How many of us would have done the same? Probably not many, however lets not confuse faith and works. Any works that we do will not save us, God has completed the works for our salvation. However any works that we perform is an act of obedience and confirmation of our faith. As Jesus said “We will be known by the fruit we produce” (Matthew 7)
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. Romans 4:24-25
The same goes for us, we are not saved by our works. We are saved by our faith in Jesus Christ who performed the works for us on the cross! However Jesus said “If you love me, keep my commandments “(John 14:15) So we are obedient to God because we love him and he loves us
All my faith is in God alone.
