For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Luke 18:25
Often we have heard this expression and passed over it, and figured Jesus wasn’t speaking to us. However if you live in the Western world, you are richer than like 97% of the entire world. We take a lot for granted in our isolated lives. We believe having things like running water and food on the table are provided, but the majority of the world don’t even have these basic things.
What’s my point? My point is you are probably relying on your money more than God and not even realize it. When you pay the monthly rent or mortgage, do you thank God for providing that or assume because you work you provided that? Or when you sit down at the dinner table , do you thank God for the food or assume you provided that food?
See this is why Jesus spoke against money, because the more we have the more spiritually lazy we become. We become blinded by ourselves believing that we can sustain ourselves and not rely on God to sustain us
And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Luke 18:26-27
After Jesus made this statement, they asked “Who can be saved then”? Everyone can become saved through Jesus Christ. By your faith in Jesus you can become saved. You cant be saved by your money, you cant be saved by anything in this world except Christ alone
Put your faith and trust in Jesus , for all things are possible with God! Amen!
The eye of a needle is an opening in the wall of a mid-east country where camels had to pass afer dark, I believe. We westerners think of a sewing needle.:)
