Weapons of Warfare

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 2 Corinthians 10:4

One of the biggest mistakes Christians make when fighting battles is we try to win by the flesh instead of by the spirit. You are in a “Spiritual Warfare” with Satan for your soul, this is not a battle you can win by the flesh. This is a battle you must win in the spiritual realm.

So what do I mean by this? Praying is a powerful weapon, we live in a society who mocks and discounts prayer, why? Because Satan wants to disable that weapon from you, think about it! When you pray, heaven and Earth are colliding.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Again the Apostle Paul says our struggle or battle is not against flesh and blood, its against the evil spiritual forces of this world. As the old saying goes “You don’t take a knife to a gun fight” Don’t try to fight Satan alone, use your “Weapons of Warfare” provided by God

Prayer, The Word of God, The Holy Spirit, these are all to equip you to resist the devil. Satan is like a roaring lion looking to devour You (1 Peter 5:8) don’t enter this battle unprepared or unaware! Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and be filled with the Holy Spirit, Amen!

Reap What You Sow

Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:6

As we read this passage we see the Apostle Paul is talking about Christians giving of their money generously. Now as soon as we talk about money, emotions begin to rise. People love money, and when they are asked to depart from it, they get pretty defensive. Don’t you think this is probably why God asks you to give?

Do you think God really needs money? No of course not , but its about obedience. Now we know some “churches” have become corrupted and love money a little too much also. Don’t worry God will deal with them eventually, the point is don’t allow money to become such an object where it pains you to depart from it.

Giving is a heart issue, like everything else. We can take this concept about others things besides money. “What You Reap is What You Sow”, if you don’t show any love or mercy towards others, do you expect to get love and mercy back? Or if you don’t volunteer or help people, should you expect them to help you when your in need?

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. Galatians 6:7

As the Apostle Paul says here, “Don’t think your going to trick God”, don’t think your going to fly under the radar and do everything sparingly and reap abundantly. God is not a fool, you can fool everyone around you, but not God

“In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'” Acts 20:35

Paul quotes Jesus here and says “Its better to give than receive”. Again this is all about a heart issue, what are your true intentions or motives for your actions? Christianity is about putting yourself before others, its about self denial. What You Reap is What You Sow! Amen!

Rich in Christ?

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9

The Apostle Paul says here Jesus was “Rich” and then made “Poor” so we can become “Rich”, what is Paul talking about here? This scripture sounds like ever prosperity gospel preachers dream, however lets examine this scripture in true context

If you read the complete chapter you see Paul was commending the Church of Corinth for being generous and taking care of each others needs, Paul uses this moment to try and describe what Jesus did for us

I believe this teach best parallels his teaching in Philippians 2

who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, Philippians 2:6

Although Jesus is God (Rich)

but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:7

Jesus made himself a bond servant (Poor) to be the atonement for our sins

Through Jesus sacrifice on the cross (Poverty) we are made (Rich) eternal life

Paul is almost using a parable here , where he’s showing our inheritance into the Kingdom of God through the sacrifice of Christ being like gaining great wealth while being poor

“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? Mark 8:36

As Jesus taught, Earthly wealth is pointless. Only the blood of Jesus Christ can save your soul. Everything on the Earth will eventually fade away but the inheritance through the grace of God by our Lord Jesus Christ is eternal Amen!

Fear of God

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

What is wrong with the “Church” these days? Everyday you read another headline of another denomination fallen to sin. What is missing from the modern day Church? How about the Fear of God? We live in a generation where all the churches want to preach about is grace and love. And these are qualities of God, but tell me something “Do you really love God if you don’t keep his commandments?”

Think about a Parent/Child relationship, if the child disobeys the parent continually and doesn’t have fear or respect for them, do they really love that parent? God demonstrated his love for us when we didn’t deserve it, why don’t we show God love by honoring him?

The original Greek word for Fear is “Phobo” which also means respect.

And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said with a loud voice, “Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.” Revelation 14:6-7

When an Angel came to preach the “eternal gospel” his message was “Fear God”!

The original Greek word is from the same root Phobos (Phobethete) which means have reverence, respect, to be in awe of God

In the modern day Church we don’t want to preach “Fear God”, we want to water down the gospel and preach candy to babies and send them on the broadway to Hell

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

The Hebrew form of Fear is “Yirat” which means the same as the Greek , reverence, respect, and awe

How much wisdom and knowledge could we obtain if we actually Feared God and listened to him? If we truly love God, why don’t listen and obey him?

Born Again

Unashamed of Jesus's avatarUnashamed of Jesus

Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

Are you Born Again? What?  Many people call themselves “Christians” but Jesus said unless you are “Born Again” you will not see the Kingdom of God, so what does “Born Again” mean?

but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.” Genesis 2:17

First, we must understand that we are sinners, meaning we “rebelled against God”, Adam and Eve decided to disobey God and listen to Satan, which allowed sin and death to enter the world. The curse of sin and death was inherited down to us all

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in…
