Bought With A Price

You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men. 1 Corinthians 7:23

What does it cost to be a Christian? Some might say you just repeat a few word and boom your in the Kingdom of God. But those who believe this don’t understand the transformation that takes place when you become Born Again. They don’t understand the conviction of your sin that pierces the soul and melts the old heart of stone

See becoming a Christian will cost you everything! You were bought with a price, the price is the blood of Jesus Christ. You will have to give up your old life, your old way, your old sins, you wont put in a new cell phone in an old case cover. You wont bake a new cake and put it in a used cake box, you wont You wont build a new house and put in old drywall…point is you don’t put your New Self into an old corrupted body

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. Matthew 16:24

Jesus told us the price to follow him, give up everything! Sin is self-gratification, if you deny yourself your probably going to sin a lot less. If you deny yourself, maybe you will have time to think about God and your Neighbor instead of yourself.

Take up your cross daily, meaning suffering and persecution. Follow Christ on the narrow path not the broad way to hell like the rest of the world. You were bought with a price, the blood of Jesus Christ, the only way to eternal life Amen!

Don’t Judge? Part 2

Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts? 1 Corinthians 6:2

Heres a thought, do you know during judgement day you will be also judging the world? For all those “Christians” who will say “We don’t Judge” well then your not fulfilling your role as a Saint. Now the Catholic will say, “This is only for Saints” if you are a Christian you are a Saint.

The original Greek word for Saint is “Hagioi” which just means “Set Apart” When you’re a Born Again believer in Christ, you have been Set Apart by the blood of Christ and the baptism of the Holy Spirit

Now does this mean we should go around and judge everyone? No, Paul is making reference to after the resurrection. When the final judgement is here, the Great White Throne, we will be part of the judgement of the wicked.

Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life? 1 Corinthians 6:3

Here is another mind blowing revelation, we will also judge Angels. I know we often think of Angels as Holy Creatures but there is also a lot of fallen angels. Apostle Peter and Judge talk about fallen angels that are currently being held in the abyss waiting for judgement (2 Peter 2:4, Jude 1:6)

Now if you plan on being one of those judges you need to be worthy of judging. Meaning nobody wants or respects a corrupted judge. Keep yourself free from immorality and sin, wash yourself in the blood of Christ, allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify you Amen!

Don’t Judge?

For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES. 1 Corinthians 5:12-13

“Don’t judge Me”!  This is a common phrase heard by many “Christians” on a daily basis. But is this true? Are we not to judge other people? Well Yes and No, as Paul is trying to explain to the Church of Corinth, Christians are supposed to judge other Christians, while God judges the unsaved

One of the functions of the Church is accountability. When you see a brother or sister getting off track or if they see you, we should say something. We should not be against being rebuked by our brothers and sisters, the Bible tells us we are to rebuke or correct our brothers and sisters who continually sin (Galatians 6, Matthew 18, Titus 3, 1 Timothy 5, James 5, 2 Timothy 4, 2 Thessalonians 3, )

Now this doesn’t mean we should be a legalist and follow everyone around and call out everything they do wrong. Because we all do things wrong probably on a daily basis, however if a brother or sister is going down a sinful road, we should address and not ignore it. Of course as a brother or sister we should do this with love and gentleness. If they don’t repent then Paul instructs us to have them removed from the Church so they don’t influence others

“Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? “Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:1-5

Probably the most misused verse in the Bible is Matthew 7:1 because people cherry pick the scripture and don’t use it in context. You can’t understand Matthew 7:1 without reading the entire paragraph and in context.

Is Jesus saying we should never Judge anyone, No, he’s saying if your going to judge do it righteously. Meaning if your full of sin yourself you shouldn’t be judging other peoples sin. However if you remove the sin from your life (log in your eye) then you can more clearly judge other peoples sin (speck in the eye)

For example if your looking at pornography you cant be calling out someone for being a homosexual. Immorality is immorality, you cant be a hypocrite and judge peoples sin.  The purpose of these teachings are not to go around and condemn people but for the body of Christ to keep each other on the narrow path of eternal life in Jesus Name Amen!

Arrogance in Grace?

You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst. 1 Corinthians 5:2

Has the Grace of God made you arrogant rather than remorseful? We know those Christians, who like to flaunt around their sin and play the grace card. We see more and more “Liberal Churches” who actually embrace a sinful lifestyle rather than mourning their sin. This is a heresy, anyone who doesn’t mourn and repent of their sin is not saved

Paul visited the Church of Corinth and found a lot of immortality going on in the church. And instead of the people repenting of this sin, they were embracing it, sound familiar?

For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present. 1 Corinthians 5:3

Paul , being the Church leader, rebuked and judged the person responsible for this heresy. How many pastors or church leaders today are calling out their members who live in sin? Probably nobody, because we rather please people than keep than on the narrow path of eternal life

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? 1 Corinthians 5:6

Again Paul is calling out the heretic, and tells him your sin will corrupt the Church. A little leaven (which is symbolic for sin) leavens (corrupts) the whole lump (Church)

Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. 1 Corinthians 5:7

Clean out the Sin for Jesus is our Passover, Jesus took the atonement for our sins! This is not a license to continually sin, mourn of your old sins and become Born Again! Don’t allow sin to corrupt you or the Church, clean them out!
