At the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “ELOI, ELOI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?” which is translated, “MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?” Mark 15:34

The darkest hour in world history happened at the cross. When our Heavenly Father had to separate himself from the Son to pour his wrath of judgement upon him. An event that is so mysterious and disturbing, why did this happen? It happened all because of US, our sins have put Christ on the cross

But Jesus loves us enough to take the wrath of our sins! How can that not move you? How can this act of compassion by Jesus be ignored? How can you not break down in tears when you know God had so much mercy on you, he took your place!

And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. Mark 15:38

And when Christs works were completed at the cross, the veil was torn. Meaning because of the atonement of his shed blood and broken body, we can now be reconciled with God again. No longer does the veil separate us from the presence of God. When you become Born Again, the Holy Spirt lives inside of You!

But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand. Isaiah 53:10

God was pleased to offer Christ as an atonement for the wages of our sins! So that we (his offspring) the children of God, by the blood of Christ, can gain eternal life! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God! Amen!
