Answering them, He said, “Who are My mother and My brothers?” Mark 3:33
One day while Jesus was teaching, somebody told him his family has come to see him. Jesus answering rhetorically , asked “Who are my mother and brothers? What was Jesus saying here? Did he really forget who his family was? Of course not, Jesus was answering rhetorically to teach everyone a valuable lesson about their relationship with God.
Typically we are related to our family by blood (birth) or adoption. However the New Covenant which Jesus established on the cross, we will become Children of God by the blood of Christ. No longer will we be strangers or aliens to God, but we will be in his Covenant as his Children
“For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother.” Mark 3:35
Whoever is in the New Covenant are Children of God. How do you become a part of the New Covenant? By Repenting of your sins, and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Sin is what separates us from God, the blood Jesus shed on the cross is your atonement to bring you back to the Covenant of God
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26
By your Faith in Jesus Christ, you are a Child of God. This was the point Jesus was trying to establish. We are not Brothers and Sisters just physically but now we are Spiritual Brothers and Sisters through Christ.
We were not meant to live alone, be united in the Body of Christ by his blood Amen!
Calling myself a child of the Living God, Jesus means a great deal to me! When people ask me what religion I am I tell them this…I don’t have a religion I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! I am a Born-again Christian! I’m a child of God!
I don’t like how the word Christian has been watered down over the years. Anyone can call themselves a Christian but what does that really mean??? For me it means Jesus gave me His last name. I take being His daughter very seriously! In some circles I’m looked at as a prude,or stuffy because I don’t find some jokes or illicit talk funny, which is offence to my ears.
When Jesus calls us His children He is talking about someone who looks upon their Father with respect and humble adoration, wanting to do whatever we can to be pleasing in His eye. We are set apart from the world so we shouldn’t be acting like it…because when we act like the world we make Jesus look bad. 😦
I have always wanted a family who would love me unconditionally and it wasn’t until I started walking with God did I find that. Today I have 10’s of thousands of brothers and sisters in Christ and I couldn’t be happier! ❤
It is my hope that when I get to heaven I hear these words come out of my Father's mouth…Well done good and faithful servant! That's what every child of God should want to hear! Amen
Blessings brother!

Amen sister! Well said! I couldn’t have said it better!
I tell people I’m Born Again, which usually gets a negative reaction. If you tell someone your Methodist or Baptist they are fine but tell them your Born Again and become hated
Which makes no sense since Jesus said we must become Born Again to enter the Kingdom… Shalom sister!

I know,it’s crazy how some people judge us for being a Christian…A Follower of Jesus Christ! A Child of God! Anyway you slice it we get some sore of persecution! Again, our Savior and Lord didn’t lie to us,our type of persecution is very minor when you look at those who die for Him!
