Kosmos

I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; John 17:9

The world loves to over quote John 3:16 , people say Jesus loves everybody! This is true to a certain extent,notice this scripture Jesus is praying on behalf of specific people not the entire world. So what’s going on here?

 

The Greek word for world here is kosmos. The meaning of this word is “inhabitants of the earth”, “the ungodly multitude”, “the human race”, can also imply morally

Jesus is saying he is asking on behalf of the saved (Christians) and not on behalf of the world (the ungodly)

Some might say, this is harsh, however if the world rejects him they are not going to be saved. The only way to salvation is Jesus Christ (John 14:6, Acts 4:12) there is no other way to eternal life. And if you don’t repent (turn away) from your sins, you are not saved

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

The good news is the word kosmos is also used here for world. So lets see how this would read

God so loved the “ungodly, sinners” that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus)

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18

Jesus loves us however if we don’t repent and put faith in Jesus, we are already condemned! If your going to quote John 3:16 you need to include verse 18 also.

The good news (gospel) is Christ has already paid our price, the work has already been done. We need to repent and come to Christ, make him our Lord, then he will intercede on our behalf with the Father Amen!

Show Us God

Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father ‘? John 14:9

Philip says to Jesus “Show us the Father” meaning “Show us God”! Jesus is amazed , Philip has been with him for over 3 years and he still doesn’t get it. Even after all the miracles Jesus performed, and all the references he made to past revelations of God such as , Great I AM, Living Water, Bread of Life, these guys still are not getting it!

Even today , many Christians are still not getting it. Even after all the Revelation we have about Jesus, after all the prophecies Jesus fulfilled, after all the power Jesus has displayed, many just don’t understand his deity.

If you want to see God, Look at Jesus! If you want to know the will of God, Look at Jesus!

 

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. Colossians 1:15

Paul also describes Jesus as the image of the Invisible God! But what does Paul mean by “Firstborn of all Creation”? Is Paul saying Jesus was created by God? No, Paul is referring to the Resurrection of Christ! Because Jesus has defeated death and was resurrected on the 3rd day, he is the first fruits, the first born of all Creation!

Because of Christ we can live eternally with God, because of Christ we can now see God and have a relationship with Him Amen!

False Religion

The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule on their own authority; And My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it? Jeremiah 5:31

People love their religion, sometimes they love their religion more than God. Problems that come with religion are humans. We love power, we love control, we love money, these are often the results of most religions. When people don’t get these results, their prophets make things up, their priests and pastors take up higher authority then they should. And as God says “My people love their religion”

But as God said, “What will you do in the End”? What will you do when your face to face with Jesus and have to explain your false religion? Unless you are building for Gods Kingdom, your kingdom is pointless! Jesus is our High Priest (Hebrews 4:14) Jesus is our ruling authority (Revelation 19:16) he overrules any false doctrine or false practice within your Church

And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. Luke 9:23

If you want true religion, come to Jesus Christ. If you want true authority, deny yourself and submit to the Lord. If you want true prosperity, carry your Cross! This is the true gospel preached by Christ, not the false , self-centered gospel taught by the false religions.

Come to Jesus , Deny yourself , Carry your Cross and follow him to salvation! Amen!

The Way

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6

This scripture is probably the anthem for Christianity. Before Jesus ascends back to Heaven, he promised us that he is preparing a place for us. The disciple Thomas then asked , “Where are you Going?” Jesus made it very clear, he is The Way, and the only Way to God the Father and eternal life

Jesus is The Way, there is no other way to get to God, there is no other way to obtain salvation! Its very simple because he is the atonement for our sins, nobody else could take the penalty for our sins, except for Jesus Christ

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

Jesus is The Truth, Jesus is the Living Word of God. Everything that Christ has spoken and taught us is from God. While lies will mislead you, The Truth Jesus Christ will set you Free!

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Jesus is The Life, its only through him we can obtain eternal life. We have all fallen short, we are all sinners and in need of a savior! Nobody can earn their salvation, only Christ could and did accomplish this at the cross.

All roads don’t lead to God, only one Way leads to God and eternal life, that’s Jesus Christ Amen!
