For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
The revelation of the Messiah is God will not allow him to decay or be deceased forever. As we know Jesus died for our sins, and after 3 days rose from the grave to live eternally and rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Nobody else can ever make this same claim, the resurrection of Jesus Christ not only fulfills Biblical prophecy, but proves Jesus is the true God in the flesh
“But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. Acts 2:24
Peter preached this same scripture of Psalms 16:10 at the Day of Pentecost. Many Jews believed that Psalms 16:10 was referring to King David, however as Peter states “Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.” (Acts 2:29)
David was not resurrected from the dead, Jesus Christ was, as God promised he would not allow his “Holy One’ to see decay. Davids physical body has decayed along time ago into dust, while Jesus has physically rose from the dead in his own body.
We can be confident in knowing Christ has fulfilled this prophecy as he is the only one who has defeated sin and death in Jesus Name Amen!
