When He entered the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him while He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this authority?” Matthew 21:23
While Jesus was healing people and performing miracles, the chief priests wanted to know “By what authority is Jesus performing these?” This can be asked of our own lives, everything we do on a daily basis, ask yourself “by what authority am I doing this?”. Meaning are you doing the will of God or are you performing your own will
Jesus clearly stated to them and all of us, that he only did the will of his Father (God) (John 6:38) In fact Jesus was so loyal and obedient to his Fathers will, that he laid down his life to save ours. Many people tried to charge Jesus with blasphemy, but he told them if he did something wrong them charge him for it.
When we do the will of our Father (God) you will always remain righteous, but when we follow our own will, that’s usually when we get led astray. You might say “Well Jesus got crucified” the fact is Jesus always knew he was going to lay down his life for us. This he prophesied about multiple times before it happened.
So reflect on your life and ask “By what authority am I doing this?” Are you following the will of our Father or are you living for the world? Just as Jesus was resurrected to live eternally, so shall we who stay faithful to God in Jesus Name Amen
Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. Genesis 1:3
It doesn’t take long in the Bible to find the prophecy of Jesus Christ. In fact in the third scripture God said “Let there be light”. Jesus told us he is the light of the world and whoever follows him will never walk in darkness (John 8:12) Before God sent the light, the world was void, in total darkness. Just the same with humanity, without Jesus there was no hope for salvation. But God sent the light to eliminate our darkness.
For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
Once again God said the Light shall shine out of darkness. The light (Jesus Christ) shines in the darkness and darkness did not overcome or comprehend it (John 1:5). Jesus has overcome the world, he has overcome evil and sin. There is no darkness to great for “The Great I AM”. Once we receive Christ and the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we become the light of the world also. (Matthew 5:14) The power of God shines through us all like a radiant light that can never be put out.
Are you facing darkness today? Is your world void of light? Remember God said “Let there be Light” and there was light! You need to speak of The Light also, Jesus Christ. Because there is no power or darkness that can overcome the light inside us in Jesus Name Amen
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
Do you have a clean heart? One thing we need to remember is God reads our hearts and minds (Jeremiah 17:10) So we need to understand that transformation comes from within and not from outside. If you’re still thinking about the same corruptible things, you can’t expect holy practices.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8
Jesus continually taught about the importance of having a clean heart and mind. For example, he taught it wasn’t just the act of violence of murder that was a sin, it was also the thoughts of violence that is the root of sin (Matthew 5:22)
Same is with adultery, its not just the act of adultery that is a sin. Its also the thoughts of sexual immorality that is a sin (Matthew 5:28) When we get control of our mind and heart, then we truly become transformed to see God
So how do we become clean? Only by the blood of Jesus Christ can purify our souls (1 John 1:7) Once we repent of our sins and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior. You then become baptized by the Holy Spirit and become a new creature. You can’t become renewed without the power of the blood of the Lamb of God, that was on the cross for your sins.
So if you truly want to see God our Father, pray Father give me a clean heart and mind today, fill me with your Holy Spirit in Jesus Name Amen
Why did I not die at birth, Come forth from the womb and expire? Job 3:11
These words that Job have spoken may seem harsh but I’m sure it’s a sorrowful emotion we may have felt at some time in our lives. Job was suffering a great loss of his family and Satan was continuing to test him. At this point Job was at his lowest point, he felt why should he have even been born.
But one thing is Job never cursed or blamed God, Job said God gives and he takes away (Job 1:21) Even though his wife told him to just curse God and die (Job 2:9), Job would not tempt The Lord. Jobs friends went on to blame Job, saying he must of sinned to cause this great sorrow in his life.
But the truth was Job was being tested by Satan and not God. Many times when tragedies happen in our lives we blame God. But its usually Satan testing us or our own sin that causes hardship for ourselves.
The Good news is eventually God repaid Job back twice from what he lost because he preserved to the end (Job 42:10) That’s why our faith is so important. During life we will encounter seasons of depression or great losses. The important thing is we remain faithful as God does have a plan for all our lives.
We can overcome as we turn to Jesus for hope and strength who has already overcome the world.God has a plan for your life and we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength in Jesus Name Amen
And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Here in Northeast Pennsylvania , we are currently in the “Blizzard of 2017”. This is a historic snowfall where virtually everything is shut down. Living in a very “commercialized” society it gives you time to think when great events like this happen.
During the storm I wonder will my family have enough food, heat to stay warm, will our water supply be cut off? But as the Bible says “God shall supply all our needs”. Often we got through the mundane routine of life, without even thinking about will our needs be met or supplied.
Don’t get me wrong, I thank God every day for all he has given us. But there is a great peace knowing that our Father in Heaven, knows our needs and will supply them for us. I’ve seen these miracles happen over my life, and there is no doubt in my mind that God is taking care of us
“So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Matthew 6:8
Jesus taught us our Heavenly Father knows what we need before we even ask for it. God knows what we need to sustain our lives, so put your trust in the Almighty Creator of the Heaven and The Earth. There is nothing impossible for him.
So if your part of the “Blizzard of 2017” or maybe your struggling in a different event. Have peace knowing that our Father is supplying all your needs in Jesus Name Amen
