The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. Matthew 16:1
When is God ever going to be enough for us? The religious leaders that lived during that time with Jesus continually rejected him even though he showed them many miracles before. Why is that? Because they never wanted to accept Jesus because then there religion would be pointless.
Many atheists claim they reject God because of religion, but Jesus is not a religion. Jesus is the Living Word of God in the flesh. You can’t blame your rejection on God due to manmade rituals and rules.
He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? Matthew 16:2-3
Jesus is saying God could show you a sign but you’re going to translate it to fit your agenda anyway. The fact is God doesn’t have to prove anything to us, he is the creator of all things. The evidence is clearly seen all around us, its up to us change our ways.
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Matthew 16:4
Are we a wicked and adulterous generation? We legalize abortion and gay marriage. Our public schools and colleges teach kids God doesn’t even exist. I would say we are an evil generation, and even though we don’t deserve it Jesus died for us anyway. If your looking for a sign its Jesus Christ, he is the only truth , life , and way Amen

What are your thoughts on the signs of Jonah? Jonah was disappointed that God didn’t destroy all of the people of Nineveh because they feared what God would do to them and so they repented and changed their behavior. I love the Jesus isn’t a religion post. Jesus said; “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.” Mathew 12:38-40 According to the gospel of Luke 11:39-41 Jesus said; “Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also? But give what is inside the dish to the poor, and everything will be clean for you.” Yes, we are a wicked generation and I believe that it has mostly stemmed from lack of knowledge of Gods word. We must be careful not to sit in judgement upon others. Jonah was guilty of the same thing and even he learned a valuable lesson from God. That He is merciful and loving, full of forgiveness for those who repent. We will see a great change and a time of peace, love and healing. That’s when the harvest will truly be most abundant for the reaping.

Good thought..Jonah refused to do the will of God but eventually gave in and saved the people of Nineveh. This generation keeps denying Jesus won’t be saved until they accept him as there Saviour also. Have a blessed day!

Hmmmmmm – I disagree a bit here. I’m a liberal Christian (yes, it’s possible) and I’m also a school teacher. We don’t “teach” in schools that there isn’t a God. I’ve never taught a lesson like that in my life and I’ve never heard one either. We don’t actively promote one religion over another, and we shouldn’t. School is for learning math/history/science/art AND religion, but not which one is right or wrong or whatever. That’s for learning in home and at the Church of your choosing…..
