Jesus On Trial

And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. Mark 14:55

Even though Jesus was innocent and sinless, the council was determined to find Jesus guilty at any costs. Why were they so threatened by Jesus? Because Jesus brought the Truth of God to the world, these men wanted to continue practicing their religion not truly worship God

These men were so blinded by their lust, that they broke their own laws to murder an innocent man to continue their religion. What they didn’t realize was they were fulfilling the Biblical prophecies that they have studied all their lives.

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

Notice even though they were accusing Jesus of lies they couldn’t prove, Jesus held his peace. Because he knew they were going to condemn him no matter what he said or did. Even though these men seen Jesus perform miracles and cast out demons.

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 14:62

Notice Jesus said “I AM” the same way God identified himself to Moses. And they don’t realize it but Jesus is already telling them about the resurrection and his ascension back to Heaven

Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. Mark 14:64

But even after all the miracles and prophecy they heard from Jesus, they still condemned him to death. Even though Jesus fulfilled all the Old Testament prophecies of the Bible, they still didn’t know him because they never opened there hearts to get to know him in Jesus Name Amen

I love your blog name, Unashamed of Jesus. I hope that describes every day of my life.

I’m so glad that Jesus died for someone so unworthy like me. I had nothing of value to contribute to my salvation. Yet Jesus died in spite of my many sins. What an awesome, gracious, and loving God we serve!

That is hard to understand they knew he had done these miracles but yet they closed their eyes to it all. Much like people do today. Great post.
