Bread Of Life

Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. John 6:32

To understand Jesus teaching on “The Bread of Life” we must first remember Exodus 16, when God supplied the Israelites with food, as he sent Manna from Heaven every day to supply there needs as they traveled through the barren desert.

But as Jesus is trying to teach us, don’t focus on your daily needs here on Earth because its all temporary. Focus on the one who will give you eternal life in paradise, that is forever which is Jesus Christ

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35

Jesus is our manna that God sent down from Heaven. But this manna is greater as it will give us eternal life not just temporary fulfilment. Whoever believes in Jesus will never thirst or hunger again, all your needs will be fulfilled.

Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” John 6:49-51

Don’t put your faith and trust in the world, put your trust in The Lord who is the only way to eternal life. When you understand this concept you can have peace and strength knowing God supplies all your needs and you don’t have to long or want for the temporary things of this world in Jesus Name Amen

The Bread of Life Discourse is the foretelling of the pascal sacrifice. The “Last Supper” before Jesus’ death on the Cross. Jesus truly is the Living Bread His True Flesh which we receive and the Living Wine is His True Blood which we drink at the Liturgy of the Holy Eucharist. Jesus continuously provides Himself to us through His Word and through His Body and His Blood to bond us to Himself and His Father with the Holy Spirit. We become fed daily and are to become one in Spirit to be His Hands and Feet on Earth to share His Love to all. Jesus I trust in You.
