And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die. Genesis 2:16-17
The other day my 5 year old son asked me, Daddy do you eat from the tree of knowledge? Now at first this seemed very cute, since we just taught him about Adam and Eve in Sunday School, but the more I thought about it, it is a good question, am I eating from the Tree of Knowledge?
Let me explain, so I’m pretty much a Bible Geek, I enjoy studying the Bible and am always looking for deeper understanding of all the scriptures. Sometimes this pursuit can lead us astray us there is a lot of false gospels and religions out there that will try to pervert the original Gospel. For example, I came across a religion that believed Paul was visited by Satan on the Road to Damascus and not Jesus, therefore his Gospels are all false. Now I don’t believe this, as I do believe Paul met Jesus and his Gospels are inspired by The Holy Spirit, but when we allow these false ideas and thoughts to entire our minds it creates doubt which weakens our faith.
“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5
Satan is the great deceiver; he will twist Gods word to fit his agenda. This was apparent when Jesus was confronted by Satan in the Wilderness, he twisted scriptures to try and tempt Jesus and he will do the same to us.
Just as Satan told Adam and Eve he had greater knowledge than God, the world is still telling us this today. As it says in 1 Corinthians 4:4 , Satan is ruler of this world. Even today the world has removed God from our schools, from our governments, and now our country. Are you eating from the “Tree of Knowledge” or do you believe in the Word of God?
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6
Some might say I do both, what kind of faith does this display when you second guess Gods truth? The problem is like James said, the one who doubts will be like a wave tossed in the ocean. As soon as a new false prophet or gospel comes along you fall it. remember Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever, there is no wavering for him.
The question is will you put your full faith in God or will we continue to eat from the “Tree of Knowledge”? The choice is ours, Jesus is the truth , life and the way he is the Rock you can build your foundation of faith on in Jesus Name Amen.

Amen brother. Are we listening to the Holy Spirit or is our thinking more influenced by the god of THIS world? Remain in the Truth – Reuben

Wow! I have loved this message. Short and precise. I was reading through it with my Bible and I realised you quoted 1st Corinthians 4:4 instead of 2nd Corinthians 4:4. I remember the same thing happened to me. Instead of quoting 1st John 1:9 about confessing of sins in one of my blog posts, I quoted 1st Timothy 1:9. One day as I was reading through my blog, I noticed that error I had made and changed it. Hahaha! I kept on confusing those two books for the longest time. Anyway, Thank you so much for the amazing article. May God bless you abundantly in Jesus name!
